I took refresher swimming lessons recently via Gateway Sports, and one of the venues available in Queens was the swimming pool in Bayside High School. So that's what I went with..close to home and plenty of residential parking. Overall, not bad. Not an Olympic sized pool but it's adequate. Well maintained and clean. My only major gripe was the locker room was freezing..almost like the school couldn't afford to turn on the heat a little..lol

A ton of programs here including dance, law, and math and science. A ton of elective and unique offering that include yoga, fencing, fashion design, sports law, astronomy and forensics (TO NAME A FEW!) This is definitely the place to find yourself and hone in on your interests in preparation for college. College is PUSHED here from freshman year and teachers and guidance counselors actually help and prepare you in every aspect. This place has an overall great morale and school spirit- sports are really big here as well. Overall, I had a great "traditional high school experience"- in conclusion big schools work, I would not have had the same experiences or opportunities if I went to some school thats 1 floor with 100 other kids. I heard the kindergarten class had three teachers this year alone, each one stating lack of support from the principal as their reason for leaving mid-year. The building is literally being held together with tape in some areas, where the building experienced pipes leaking. There is writing all over the bathroom walls and cracks all along the foundation, none of which seems to be fixed despite running fundraisers all year. The school's principal cannot even write an email to parents without it being riddled with grammatical errors. My children spent only one year at this school, and it was one year too many. I had heard this school was great about a decade ago, but has since gone to shambles, both literally and physically.

She is so smart and caring , she only has been working there for a short period of time but is amazing ! She knew my name and children's names in a matter of weeks . She's gone out of her way to make sure that my son gets the help that he needs and always checks on us . They have so many activities and school trips for the kids every year . Even they share the same building, the break time releasing time and the start time is different time than each school. So the students basically don't see each other or crushes each other.
