How did they even get a license to run a preschool when they don't care about kids safety? What if a stranger picked her up? What if she walks around and get lost? What if...? The teachers are…read moregifted and caring and honestly motivate and prepare you for college and "real life" a ton of class options including honors and AP and ton of unique electives (i took journalism for two years straight along with digital publishing). A ton of programs here including dance, law, and math and science. A ton of elective and unique offering that include yoga, fencing, fashion design, sports law, astronomy and forensics (TO NAME A FEW!) This is definitely the place to find yourself and hone in on your interests in preparation for college. College is PUSHED here from freshman year and teachers and guidance counselors actually help and prepare you in every aspect. This place has an overall great morale and school spirit- sports are really big here as well. Overall, I had a great "traditional high school experience"- in conclusion big schools work, I would not have had the same experiences or opportunities if I went to some school thats 1 floor with 100 other kids. 'Dozo has a modern building with huge outdoor athletic fields (gym is often held outside), 2 gyms, a dance studio and SmartBoards in the classrooms. I am currently a Macauly Honors student at a CUNY and am on the track to grad school- this school works it's the best in the area.

The issues described below are strictly related to the after-school program, aides, and administration. Unfortunately, the after-school program and administrative oversight fell very short. A few major concerns: Lack of Physical Activity: The rooftop playground was under repair for the entire school year, and the indoor gym wasn't utilized during extended care. Expecting high-energy kids to sit from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with minimal physical outlet is unreasonable. Lack of Extracurricular Value: Basic enrichment like STEM, cooking, or arts/crafts are an additional cost on top of the tuition, whereas nearby programs and private pre-Ks offer these included. Without these add-ons, the afterschool program offers very little structure, leaving children in the same classroom from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with minimal engagement. Untrained Extended Care Staff: I witnessed inappropriate behavior from aides, including dangling food over my child to make him "beg" and loud yelling as a redirection tactic. When I raised this, administration initially dismissed it as a "language barrier" before retracting that statement. Communication & Supervision: Most of the after-school aides speak Mandarin as their primary language with limited English proficiency. While this works well for Mandarin-speaking families, it made it very difficult as an English-speaking parent to have basic daily conversations about my child's day. Administration even cited a "language barrier" when I raised concerns about aides shouting at students. Between the communication gaps, noticeable greeting biases from certain staff, and multiple transition-related injuries due to poor supervision, daily operations during extended care were very frustrating. The day teachers are great, but for the premium price, the after-school program lacks structure, safety, and proper staff training.

Both my kids attend here from 1K - PK4 and they absolutely adore their teachers. It's a tight knit small school where practically all the directors/teachers/teacher aids know all the kids in every grade by their names. They have early drop off, late pickup and extracurricular classes in Reading, Piano, Arts, Mandarin, Spanish, and Ballet (for additional cost). They have a big outdoor and indoor playground and the teachers bring them outside for nature walks. Ms Una is the sweetest, most knowledgeable, and organize Director! Shout out to Ms Zohra, Ms M, Ms Alexis, Ms Sosan, Ms GG, and Ms Fiona! They also have early intervention, PT/OT/Speech therapist that works with the school if your child needs the extra attention. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better school. The only thing I wish they have is more pre-k 4 spots available.

She is so smart and caring , she only has been working there for a short period of time but is amazing ! She knew my name and children's names in a matter of weeks . She's gone out of her way to make sure that my son gets the help that he needs and always checks on us . They have so many activities and school trips for the kids every year . They also have a school carnival at the end of every school year . Games , prizes , rides , food and candy ! Lots and lots of fun !
