The cookies are fresh. In the past I was able to purchase these same maple cookies at Cross Border U.S. - Canada shopping by vehicle Duty Free many years ago which I greatly missed. Since I am unable to return to The Great White North I can now bring something from Canada into the U.S. Purchasing direct from manufacturer is always great without any hurdles. The maple cookies are very tasty. I had no problems with shipping from Canada into U.S. N.B. And I would recommend paying the fee, because it looks like it is patrolled regularly. They were giving tickets out when I was there. The shop has everything you would want in a souvenir shop. They had T-shirts, pajamas, magnets, toys, hats, sweatshirts, shot glasses, post cards, snacks, and a bunch a hockey and maple syrup stuff. The store is pretty well organized, the guy working was very nice and there goods are reasonably priced. I got all the gifts and souvenirs that I needed, with a bit that I didn't need. If you are in the market for some souvenirs while in Toronto, this should be one of your first stops.

IMHO, they win over the Smoke Shop when it comes to maple quality and selection. You'll find maple syrup, maple cookies, maple candies, maple butter, maple chocolate, and maple coffee and tea, just to name the most prominent. I also put TSM on top when it comes to sports stuff ... you'll find a sturdy amount of reasonably priced Toronto Raptors and Blue Jays gear. They also best their cross-walkway rivals in things the Smoke Shop just doesn't have (or has so little of I missed it): TSM wins on RCMP (a.k.a. The "Mounties") stuff, post cards (expensive, but excellent quality), Anne of Green Gables (the famed Canadian novel character) items, and on international flags. When it comes to the standard Toronto- and Canada-adorned items, both stores do well with t-shirts, magnets, mugs, bags, sunglasses, bags, and the rest. There isn't a lot of crossover, though, making both stores must-sees for the souvenir hunter. With a straightforward name like "The Souvenir Market" you expect an abundance and variety of great stuff ... and, boy, TSM delivers!

The service was fast and the owner only accepted cash. The peonies were super pretty though, but a few damages on the stem. My mom really loved the flowers though!! They sell all types of flowers, and you could make a bouquet of your all for a reasonable price. plus they have plants too.

When brought it back within 15 minutes, the shopkeeper got very excited and blamed me for the poor quality of the plant. Not a big deal if one plant out of many was unfortunately rotted, but the poor quality of the customer service was unfortunately terrible. Will not be going back there again.
