The staff is friendly and they don't really seem like staff, they actually feel more like people who just want to be your friend and share good information with you. I was baptized at this church after having a love hate relationship with religion and even went on to getting married here. The place is beautiful, the sanctuary is very nice and they do not shy away from computer screens, projectors and videos made exclusively by the kids and adults to share faith in a techno savvy or just spiritual encapsulating way. They have 3 main pastors here and its great having the chance to talk with all of them and hear about all of them when they get up to preach. They even have a little time they like to call, "Family Meeting Time" when the pastor pulls up a chair and you actually get to hear the life of the church, what they are doing, what they need, what they are lacking in and where even the church is putting their money. Its very inclusive. Their programs for kids are fantastic, they have the normal Wednesday night thing going on called TRUE. They say "God is always TRUE" and they have core beliefs that they share with the kids to make sure they know what truly is important and then of course they get to play and pray a bit. The leader of the youth program here is not what you expect, in a very awesome good way. They have plenty of leaders there helping make sure faith is kindled and fun is had. Mike, the leader of True Student Ministries is energetic, tech savvy and an absolute joy to witness both while preaching and witnessing the youth program. Thankfully enough he also has some young staff in there helping out as well doing a fantastic job in the process.

The Dell Performing Arts Center is a small, cozy theater with great views of the stage from every seat. The intimate setting made for a wonderful experience. Parking was convenient, with a lot right in front of the theater and overflow parking available. Check-in for the show was smooth and hassle-free, and there's even a concession stand before you enter. The audio quality was excellent, making every performance clear and engaging. Overall, a fantastic venue for performances--well-organized, comfortable, and a great addition to Austin's arts scene!

They did have to take the ISEE entrance exam as well as submit their transcript/report cards from the public schools they'd previously attended as well as sit for interviews. Our kids are also scholarship kids - we are a lower middle-class family who can only afford private school with very significant financial aid. Things to know: You need to start the application process early and turn everything in on time. There is a waiting list to get in, openings fill quickly, and it's not just academics or money that get your kid in - the interview and their other extracurriculars and interests matter. YES, there are some cocky, elitist kids (and parents), as you'll find in most private schools, but there are also many kind, down-to-earth, wonderful students, families, and faculty at SAS. The overall environment is warm and welcoming, and my kids both found a social group there. We didn't love every teacher, but overall, the academic experience was great, and most teachers are both knowledgeable and supportive. Their academic advising program is really helpful because your student has an adult on campus to help advocate for them if they are struggling in class or having difficulty with a teacher. The college counseling program for juniors and seniors is also a serious advantage over public schools. St. Andrew's centers its education around 4 pillars - service, academics, arts & athletics. All students participate in all four pillars, meaning they all have to do arts, they all have to do sports, they all have to do community service, and they all must maintain their grades. I'm grateful our kids were encouraged and held accountable to complete service in the community because it builds empathy and a perspective outside their own lived experiences in the world. St. Andrew's does have chapel daily, but all faiths are welcome, and we found the Episcopal tradition encourages asking questions and thinking deeply about what you believe but also compassion and acceptance of other faiths. I had kids who were not really athletic and didn't want to do sports, but because everyone had to do sports, they weren't the only kids on the team who didn't have prior sports experience, and it turned out to be great for them. They both tried 2 new sports and didn't regret it. Where can a student join a team sport in high school, with no prior experience, in the public school setting? Just about nowhere. So, the team sports experience was a real positive for our family. Our kids are artsy, one a painter and writer and the other a vocalist, and they both found places to excel in their interests, through studio art and building a portfolio, to creative writing as an elective and the opportunity to be published in the school literary journal, through musical theater and the competitive select choir. Academically, there are not many AP classes, compared to some public schools who offer pre-AP and then AP classes, because the standard-level classes at SAS are taught at what would be considered AP level in public schools; however, there are still advanced upper-level AP courses in math, science, history, and languages. Their language program is also exceptional: they only offer Mandarin, Latin & Spanish, but they start in 6th grade and go all the way through AP-level language courses, so a kid can graduate with 6 years of language, and there are many opportunities for competitions and trips that deepen their understanding of the language they have chosen. Both of my students have mild learning disabilities, but we found the support they needed to build good study habits, seek out tutoring, and advocate for themselves, and though they may not have been in the top of their class at St. Andrew's, they did well on SAT/ACT and found themselves more than prepared for college and have experienced success after leaving SAS. They're both grateful for their time at St. Andrew's, and we as parents believe it was definitely worth it.

I am honestly heartbroken to not go there everyday anymore lol! We have had a child there for the past 5 years and if I could keep them there forever, I would! We have had the honor to get to know Ms. Alex, Ms. Jazmin and Ms. Morgan over the years and these women are absolutely INCREDIBLE! They have huge hearts and really LOVE what they do, and it shows!! They have a magic way of connecting, communicating and relating to the kids. We are so THANKFUL for the values and knowledge they have bestowed in our children that will shape who they become forever!! We love each of you so much!! My kids come home raving about their teachers - which is a GREAT sign for me. My older son absolutely loves the splash pad during summer. Every day he eagerly inquired if it was a splashpad day for him. My 2 yo daughter says every day that her teacher is her best friend. They seem to be thriving. And educationally speaking, I feel that both are moving along nicely. My son is practicing writing his name, my daughter is practice drawing circles. They both report daily outside time, dance parties, arts & crafts, story time, library time, 'share stick' time for the coolest toys. All great things. My only 'meh' (and understandably so) is that due to covid some of the areas are off limits because they're helping distance learners. For instance, the computer lab, shared toy areas, soda shop. While I completely understand it, and try to keep my meh-attitude in check, sometimes I really wish my children could experience these educational & fun activities themselves. However, I firmly believe the school is doing all it can do help all parents/children through covid so obviously, I can't be too upset. Overall, we've loved our time at Country Home. Two BIG thumbs up!

At first I was intimidated by the size but it is a well oiled machine. What was important to me was when the director told me she had been their 17 years +. My previous daycare had significant turnover and instability and I felt like I was just dropping my son off at a holding cell. CHLC changed all of that! He is learning and thriving and they have monthly calendars full of events, activities, and opportunities for parent engagement. Love all the staff and teachers and it impressed me that they are able to greet the kiddos by name! CHLC is not cheap but I will say worth every penny thus far.

Our two-year-old only attended INIC for a few months in early 2022 and was in Toddler C. When we were just getting to know the school, Andrea (the director) was very helpful in answering all of our questions, provided us with a tour, and helped ease our concerns, this being the first time our son had been away from us for extended periods. During the first month, our son cried everyday, picked up different bugs, and struggled to adjust to the new environment. But everyone at INIC was so patient and understanding, working with us to get our son slowly acclimated to school. After about a month, our toddler started to look forward to school, especially to the special celebratory days. One day at home, he even started counting in Spanish. :-) Throughout this time, we got daily updates from his teachers, Ms. Karla and Ms. Estela, on how he was doing. When he finally started having good days, they were just as excited as we were, and it really felt like a partnership! Can't thank the teachers and staff at INIC enough for giving us the peace of mind when it came to the care of our son. We really miss them!

It's about the people who manage INIC, particularly Yvonne Morales and Helena Diaz Gracian. When we enrolled our child, Yvonne told us on more than one occasion, there was a promotion offering 25% off for the first two months. That discount was a big factor in our decision to choose INIC over another daycare, given the large price tag parents are expected to spend for childcare. However, after the first month, we were charged full price. Only after repeated attempts to address the issue, was the discount applied the second month. On the third month, we were charged full price and told the discount was only for one month. They admitted the mistake of giving wrong information, but refused to honor what we were promised. The kicker? At the time of us trying to get them to honor their word, they were running the exact promotion they refused to give us. We tried repeatedly to resolve it, emailing, calling, and even speaking with staff in person. Each time we were told someone would get back to us, but nobody ever did. Eventually, they said there was nothing they could do and still charged us full price. They refused to make it right. Being lied to, and then ignored after trying so hard to get a fair resolution, was incredibly disappointing. It made us feel disrespected and taken advantage of, especially after trusting them with our child's care. In the end, not only did they fail to honor their word, they were dismissive and unprofessional. It felt like they didn't care about their customers at all. This was the worst administrative experience we've ever had. The teachers are fantastic, but the management's dishonesty and lack of accountability completely ruined our trust.
