Our family has been part of the Stepping Stone School community for nearly a decade, spanning three children and multiple campuses, and I can honestly say they have been one of the greatest blessings to our family. My oldest son, Race, first attended Stepping Stone Hyde Park as a baby before transferring to the Wells Branch Parkway campus. Later, my younger son attended both Wells Branch and the Round Rock location. Throughout every transition, we were met with the same thing: caring teachers, strong leadership, consistency, structure, and genuine love for our children. At both Hyde Park and Wells Branch, Ms. Brenda and Ms. Jennifer played a huge role in our boys' lives. They created an environment where our children felt safe, supported, and excited to learn every day. When our family faced difficult seasons, they showed us incredible kindness and flexibility, helping provide stability for our children when we needed it most. At the Round Rock AW Grimes campus, Liz continued that same tradition of excellence. She was always accommodating, compassionate, and deeply invested in the well-being of the children and families she served. Now, years later, I have re-enrolled my daughter Hana at the Hyde Park campus, and I was thrilled to discover that Ms. Brenda is currently serving as interim principal there. When I told my oldest son that Hana would be attending Hyde Park and that Ms. Brenda was her principal, his immediate response was, "Aw, that makes me really happy." That simple comment spoke volumes. Years later, he still remembers the people who cared for him and made him feel loved. The Hyde Park campus has blossomed tremendously since my boys attended. It is clear how much thought, effort, and care have gone into improving the experience for both children and parents. From the moment we enrolled, Ms. Brenda made the process seamless and welcoming. Hana received a personalized Stepping Stone backpack, a teddy bear, and a book as a welcome gift, which was such a thoughtful touch. That teddy bear quickly became one of her favorite possessions. What continues to impress me most is the quality of the people. Hana's teachers are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children. You can tell they care deeply about their development, happiness, and well-being. That level of commitment is something that cannot be faked, and it's something I've consistently experienced across every Stepping Stone campus we've attended. I also love the daily photo updates and communication, the STEM-focused curriculum, the outdoor play opportunities, and the summer Splash Days that keep the kids active, engaged, and having fun. The teachers and staff work together as a team, and it shows. Special recognition should also go to educators like Ms. Lisa at Wells Branch and Ms. Olga at AW Grimes, who has dedicated decades of her career to caring for children through Stepping Stone. That kind of longevity speaks volumes about the culture and values of the organization. Finding childcare is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. After experiencing Stepping Stone with three children over many years, I can confidently say that they have consistently exceeded our expectations. The level of care, communication, education, and support they provide is exceptional. They don't just care for children; they help shape them, support families through life's challenges, and create memories that last long after graduation. Our son started at stepping stone Hyde park when he was 5 months and almost a year later we are so sad to leave (we are moving out of state). We love Calen the principal and Ms Karina in the infant room (along with a bunch of other amazing teachers). Stepping stone has been a safe, reliable and caring environment for our son and he is thriving. He is so happy, so active and loves his school and classmates. We loved having our daughter attending Stepping Stone Mueller! She learned so much thanks to the wonderful care of her teachers. Miss Alasia and Miss Shay took such diligent care of our girl. When she first started, she was just starting to become mobile and show her personality. They really helped her flourish. She learned how to hold her own bottle, sit up independently, and was able to start rocking back and forth on her hands and knees. We would have loved continuing her early life education there if not for life changes. We are forever grateful for the love and support we received at Stepping Stone, and would not hesitate to return if our circumstances change. it's worst daycare I ever seen . my son had 6 stitches on his finger they don't even know how it happened literally it was bleeding a lot .Really management is very worst .Around 5pm my son was standing near the door and there are nearly 15 to 20kids on one room so they couldnt take care properly .when joining they said 8 kids per teacher like that . every day someone was bitten my son on his hand while giving bath in the evening I wil feel very bad and informed multiple times and they are not aware of this most of the time they will not even send incident later as well read more

We started our oldest son at Stepping Stone in March 2020. And then pulled him out a week later while the entire world shut down. But, incredibly, Stepping Stone stayed open, and they clearly did so with a plan, because it took until about 18 months into the pandemic before we heard anything about a case there. And so after a few months we sent our oldest back, and then sent his brother there when he was born a couple of years later. I've been continually impressed by Stepping Stone: like their materials say, they have a clear strategy for curricular progression, but more importantly in my mind both of my kids love going there, have fun, and talk fondly (and frequently) about their teachers and the friends they've made there. Like others have mentioned, there's been some turnover in the past three years (especially at the director level), but if anything the lack of disruption to day-to-day operation speaks to a level of professionalization throughout the organization. read more

Stepping Stone in Hyde Park is fantastic. Our daughter has been attending for a year now and we have nothing but glowing reviews. She started in the infant class and has been in the toddlers for a few months. Every time we drop her off, she runs to another child or teacher and gives them a big hug. Very heart warming and comforting when dropping them off. When picking her up, we are met with excitement followed by an exhausted nap in the car from her long day of playing and interacting. In addition to her enjoying daycare, we can tell there is an actual curriculum followed by the teachers that has been advancing her periodically, if it's sign language to help communicate, social skills, motor skills, or her obsession with books. Our son had a great time during his 4 months at Stepping Stone. It's in a good location, and we liked that it was a smaller school. Everyone knew his name and genuinely cared about him. He learned so much during his time there and we are thankful for the time and attention his teachers gave him everyday. They also implemented several COVID precautions, which helped us feel more at ease about sending him to school. We started our son at Stepping Stone Hyde Park this spring at 18 months and have been very happy there. I know it's an enormous task for the teachers to keep up, but the daily reports, photos, and videos through the Tadpoles app are awesome (assures us he's having a good time) and helpful when we settle into our evening routine at home. Another big selling point for us was that they provide snacks and lunch -- a godsend for working parents. We have been sending our son here since we moved to Austin 2 years ago. He's now 2.5 yrs old. It has been an amazing experience all around. Specifically, I enjoy all of the programs they have available for the kiddos even from a young age- the art projects with footprints for the infants are still on my fridge, the singing with musicians that come in every few days is a huge hit with my son, and the gymnastics classes definitely helped him with coordination and following instructions. The teachers and administrators are SUPER sweet and knowledgeable. This is my first kid so nothing feels normal and they have helped me through so much- blowouts, getting consistent naptimes, the dreaded biting stage and so much more. We have brought him back after some time at home for Covid, and I am so grateful for everyone that works at Hyde Park Stepping Stone. My son has been thrilled to return and see all of his friends and teachers. There are lots of cleaning procedures in place, and practices to rotate the kids around the play spaces so the minimum contact happens. read more

I love Stepping Stone Hyde park. I have two little girls who have been going there now for 19 months. They take such good care of my girls there. My girls love their teachers too, I. In fact they refuse to leave school before they have gotten hugs from their teachers. Jessica and Robyn are always very helpful if I need to track down a tuition statement or even a missing coat or beloved stuff animal. My oldest daughter comes home and tells me about all the things they learned each week, whether it's how to count to 20 or the days of the week in Spanish or even how we all have skin and bones. Every day I leave my girls there I know they will get the care and stimulation that they need. read more

Normally I would rate my experience as a four, but in light of how great the teachers here have been-These ladies deserve five stars all the way!!!!!!! The ONLY reason I would give four stars is because of some initial issues in communication when we were enrolling our daughter. I found out three business days before returning to work after maternity leave that there was no spot available for my daughter. As a result, she was passed off to another Stepping Stone campus starting off for a few months until a spot opened up at Hyde Park. With such little notice, we had no other options for childcare and had to drive her 30-45 min across town and away from our jobs for daycare, then we had to come back for our jobs (and back to daycare, then back home.) We were commuting 1.5 hours a day for daycare, which was tough for us as first time parents. However, we were transitioned to Hyde Park when a spot opened up. Since being here at Hyde Park, I cannot speak highly enough about how wonderful the sweet staff is! My daughter is 9 months old and is in the "poets" classroom. I sometimes come up on my lunch break to feed/play with her since this location is close to work, and I have gotten the privilege to know the sweet ladies who care for "Poets" classroom. I absolutely know we are in the right place and there is no greater comfort than knowing that when I leave, my daughter is surrounded by people that genuinely love her and foster her development. They send us pictures regularly and even sent a video when she began to crawl! They do regular footprint art and it's been fun watching her feet grow with every cute little picture :) There are weekly themes (I believe the themes are related to the STEAM program) and they share the lesson plans in the tadpoles app. It's pretty adorable. I thought it was cool that in the month of August the newsletter said the children would focus on learning "about the character trait of fairness; the impartial and just treatment of others without favoritism or discrimination" by having a discussion about Rosa Parks. Love that kind of lesson plan and focus. I also love that they do structured reading times, singing, and art with the infants. She has so much fun at school and I am so happy to see her make friends-which has made adjusting back to full-time work much easier for our family. Whether we are leaving her to play with Miss Yoshi in the mornings, seeing a picture of her reading with Miss Rana in group time, or picking her up while cuddling with Miss Margo in the late afternoon, she is all smiles! Overall, we are so pleased with this daycare. While our introduction was a little rocky, they more than made up for it with the love they give to our daughter every day. We have been overwhelmed by the warmness and kindness of the staff (and Darcy!) once we got onboard at Hyde Park. So grateful for these ladies! read more

Like any first time mom, I was super picky when it came to choosing a daycare for my son. We toured the Capitol Campus and I really got a good feeling/energy from the principal, Erica. That location ended up closing but we decided to follow Erica and her staff to the Hyde Park location. On the first day of school, his teacher was so sweet and helped me to feel comfortable leaving him there. My son is now 18 months old and he is such a happy boy. Stepping Stone has taught him a lot already and he has loved all of his teachers. I am so happy we chose Stepping Stone Hyde Park. I would highly recommend this school to anyone! read more

We chose to enroll our 6 month old at Stepping Stone Hyde Park more than 5 years ago, and this week we said a tearful goodbye to the AMAZING staff because my baby is now starting Kindergarten. When Erica, the SSHD principal, transferred to this location in 2017 there was a literal overnight change for the better and the quality of care there has remained stellar. I attribute that to her strong leadership and positivity. The staff, like Jasmine and Raevn, are loving, attentive, and patient. They are great teachers, too! My eldest child is absolutely Kindergarten-ready thanks to their diligence, and my 2.5-year-old also loves to learn. We really came to think of SSHD as a second home. It is difficult to hand over care of your children in order to work a full-time job, but the staff at Stepping Stone Hyde Park brought me peace of mind each and every day. From day one of bringing our infant daughter here, we have had absolutely no regrets. The staff are loving and caring towards the children and I never worry about whether or not a new teacher is in the room. I know that they are all wonderful. That being said, her regular teachers are top notch! They care for and educate our little nugget as we would. The director, Miss Alicia, is always johnny-on-the-spot for any concerns, questions or just to simply be a smiling face. Having our first baby and having to take her to childcare while we both work is a stressful situation. However, bringing her to Stepping Stone School at Hyde Park has taken out the bulk of that stress and allowed us to focus on enjoying being parents. We've been a Stepping Stone family since our oldest son was 2. It breaks our hearts that he's headed to Kindergarten because we and he has formed such a strong bond with the teachers/staff at Stepping Stone Hyde Park. Under varying circumstances, we've had to search for childcare providers for our family. The easiest decision was when we had the opportunity to place our children at Stepping Stone. The Principal, Erica, and staff are AMAZING! They treat each child and each family with respect and enormous care. They are courteous, professional, but most of all, they have the biggest hearts. As parents, we like to think we are on top of things developmentally(emotionally and intellectually) with our boys, but they seem to surprise us with things we've not even begun to explore. Stepping Stone is not a place for you if all you want is for your child to be looked after while you're away. Stepping Stone is for the family who encourages and expects for their child to flourish in every way possible. They've got a wonderful curriculum, a clean and well-kept facility, fun and exciting developmental toys/materials, nutritious meals/snacks, amazing hours of operation, convenient/accessible location, and, the most important thing, our children love it! Our son is six months old, and enrolled in the Mockingbird class. We could not be happier with the quality of care there; particularly, we cannot say enough good things about the teachers, Miss Candace and Miss Rita! They are obviously experts in child care, and experts in dealing w/ neurotic, first-time parents (us!). Our son dealt with four ear infections in eight weeks; both teachers were extremely concerned, always checking in with us after doctor's appointments, offering to give any medicines they could at school for us, etc. They would also ask how WE were doing, acknowledging how hard it is for parents to watch their child in pain. Miss Candace and Miss Rita get so excited about our son's developmental milestones--they are always quick to tell us about his day when we pick him up, and obviously take pride in the integral role they play in my son's development and well-being. Miss Candace takes the time to remember my favorite colors, and incorporates them into his artwork. My son loves her so much that whenever he sees people that look like her, he immediately begins smiling/squealing. Miss Rita has given me wonderful advice when I have asked her for it regarding ways to soothe him/help him sleep, and my son could not be more fond of her. When I arrive after work, I am always greeted w/ a smile, and they have my son's diaper bag packed and ready to go, as well as hand me a written documentation of his day. If they have not changed his diaper w/in the last 20 or so mins, they offer to change him first. They are intelligent, conscientious, professional, and are deliciously goofy over our son! P.S. The director, Lindsey, is great too! She got as excited about my son's school pictures as we did! read more

We moved our kids to this school in early October and can't be happier with the decision. What a difference to the last place. Miss Kim, the principal, is by far the best director we've dealt with (this is our third daycare/preschool) and I can't stress how great the communication is. We get daily reports for both kids, I LOVE getting photos of them throughout the day, and they are very attentive to detail and always on top of any needs. Our daughter recently had an accident that required temporary, special attention to what she was eating and all of the teachers that dealt with her were apprised of her needs and very communicative of how she did during the day. We always know what our children are learning on a daily basis, love that parties are open to parents to attend and that we're invited and encouraged to do so, that learning plans are made available to us every week, love the monthly newsletter, and love having teachers that speak Spanish and ASL, both languages that we use in our trilingual household. Miss Kim goes above and beyond the expectations that we would have of a director. We are extremely happy with our move and wish we had made the decision to move here and forego the last facility our kids were at, much earlier. I highly, highly recommend this preschool! read more

Let me start off by saying that the wait to get into Stepping Stone School at Hyde Park was well worth it. This was my husband's and my first choice for childcare for our son. Of course all of the infant spots at the time were taken and so we were put on a wait list for almost a year. Yikes! I was determined to get him in to this school plus we were really not all that happy with the childcare that he was currently receiving. I called every couple of months just to check and see where we were on the wait list. Kim, the school's Principal, was so helpful, kind, patient, and prompt when communicating with us. She tried helping us get connected with other campuses until we could get into her campus fortunately we did not need to put him anywhere else. Kim called us immediately when there was space available for our son. Happy, happy, joy, joy! We did a second tour with her before our son started so that my husband could see the school. Kim made us feel so comfortable as well as all of the teachers. We really got a chance to see the teachers in action with the babies and the kids. We are also lucky that we took a tour of the school on "splash day", which was super fun to watch kids and babies splash in water. Our son is super happy at school. He's excited when I drop him off and he sometimes is a little sad when I pick him up because he wants to continue playing with his friends. He is learning, growing, and just thriving. The teachers care for your child as if it was their own child, which was our number one priority when looking for a school. The communication between parent, teacher, and principal is excellent! We also get an electronic daily report, which tells us exactly what he did for the day. I really like this because you can see what foundations he is working on, what new skills, and what foreign language skills he is working on. The former teacher in me recognizes that these are best practices for kids and their development. We also receive pictures during the day of what our son is doing and the different activities he is participating in. I really could not have asked for a better place for our son to be than Stepping Stone School Hyde Park. Thank you Kim and all of the teachers for making the transition for our son phenomenal.
