The ambiance was nice. The place was a bit slow when we got there, about 5:30 PM. It reminded me of one of my favorite places in Midtown, Miami. The service was attentive and knowledgeable about the wine list and other offerings. I liked their wine collections, a simple collection with a good variety (new and old world) it did not seem pretentious in choices or pricing. The food was a major disappointment. 1.- It is fair to say that the lamb meatballs were good, very flavourful, good texture, and not gamey. 2.- The brussel sprouts were almost good, a good mix of flavors and ingredients but the sprouts were undercooked, I felt like I was eating well-seasoned hot cabbage. 3.- I asked for the Duck Confit, which came with a huge amount of Indonesian-style fried rice. The duck skin was not crisp to perfection and the duck did not taste like duck, it was more like eating chicken. Clearly, the confit cooking process had not been properly applied. 4.- My wife asked for the NY steak. It was not sufficiently seared, it was presliced and topped with cold butter straight out of the ice box. It was so cold, she couldn't eat it. There were so many fundamental culinary mistakes in one experience that I cannot, in good conscience, give more than one start in this review. Major improvements are needed ASAP if they plan to survive as a dinning establishment. read more

This was our first time here. The food is fresh and delicious. The menu is small but has something for everyone. We ordered the Croque Monsier, Avocado Toast and the Bodega sandwich. The bread was freshly baked, the cheese and meats were tender and delicious. We then ordered the cinnamon and orange cinnamon rolls. They were delicious. The food exceeded expectations, it was Mardi Gras and we were progressive dining. We ordered the Gumbo and it was delicious, chunky and tasty. Chef Chris brought us free of charge their special main of the evening to try. It was sweet and sticky pork ribs and everything a rib should be. We forced it down....with the promise that sometimes there would be a lamb special, though how could it exceed this with flavor? The service was friendly, prompt and efficient. The Bodega products had everything for you to serve up a 5 star supper at home and impress your friends. The room was bustling, vibey but not noisy. The mardi gras colors livened the scene nicely. Usually, we find an interesting one to take home with the steaks. We almost always get a pair of custom-cut steaks to take home. This is a new business in the St. Andrews neighborhood I work in. This was my first time here, so I wanted to sample a few of the Tapas offerings. All 3 choices were delicious and well balanced. Started with the Steak N Eggs, then dived into the decadent Pimento Cheese Toast. Last was the Bacon & Blue, which was a tasty mix of smoky, sweet and savory. I saved one last bite of the Pimento Cheese Toast for absolute last, as it was almost a savory sweet dessert bite. All 3 were so good, with great mouth feel and chew. Overall, a very satisfying meal with my Lorina Blood Orange sparkling beverage. They just opened recently, so had run out of a couple things I was interested in ordering food and drink wise. But everything I was able to taste today was pleasurable, so I will definitely be back to sample more. Hopefully with friends so we can order some of the bigger plate options. Jazz music sets the right mood, and the service was friendly and relaxed, letting me quietly enjoy the food and ambiance. So glad I decided to stroll down the street for such a nice new experience!!! The bodega is all about aesthetic. The restaurant is modern and the dishes are plated nicely but aesthetic cannot account for taste. I had the bodega sandwich and it was ok. The steak didn't have much flavor and the fries were nothing special. My friend had the banana bread french toast and the breakfast burrito. She wasn't a fan of her choices either. The burrito was small and the french toast was ok. For what you get, the price is not worth it. read more

This review is based on their lunch. The service was amazing but the food was over salted. We had two different types of sandwiches and small pasta salads to go with it. They were all so salty!! The salt overtook any other flavor. I think they could do better. Food doesn't and shouldn't need that much salt to taste good. There are better and less expensive options around the area. I was disappointed with the food and it was below what I was expecting from this seemingly nice place. I hope it gets better!
