Great food, casual environment, friendly staff and owner. We also enjoyed the live music the evening we went there.

Wonderful restaurant! Great food, and the chef changes the menu about every month to keep it exciting.

The food and service are excellent. Plan on sharing bites because everyone will like what the others in the group ordered.

Ferrucci Ristorante was opened by Mike Ferrucci in 1995 as a small mom-and-pop Italian spot with…read morejust 60 seats. It's since grown to a 150-seat restaurant at 301 Harrison Ave in downtown Panama City. Mike has since retired and handed the restaurant off to new owner Matt Harbison, who's kept it going. It holds a Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice award and has been called the best restaurant in Bay County by locals. The food lives up to that reputation. We started with the fresh mozzarella ball appetizer with prosciutto and peppers, along with the bruschetta -- both great openers that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The homemade pasta is clearly a point of pride and it shows -- the spaghetti bolognese was rich and well balanced, and the chicken parm was done right, with fresh mozzarella melted over a well-breaded cutlet. Grilled shrimp was a great lighter option alongside the heavier pasta dishes. Finished with the ricotta cheesecake, a nice twist on the usual cheesecake that leans into the restaurant's Italian roots rather than playing it safe. A genuine downtown Panama City institution, and the homemade pasta alone makes it worth the visit.

Located in downtown Panama City, it's in heart of the city and there a lot of stuff to walk to and visit like bars and a really neat retro arcade. As for the food, not impressed. I got the fettuccine Alfredo. It was decent but not remarkable. For dessert, I got the cheesecake and that was not very good. However, I must put an asterisk to the dessert--it was a ricotta cheesecake. I prefer cheesecakes made with cream cheese. You might enjoy the ricotta style; I do not. The service was an acceptable. She checked on me regularly but wasn't friendly in the sense that she engaged me with friendly greetings when I sat down. She didn't say anything like, "Welcome to Ferrucci's. Etc..". The most egregious demerit about the service was when the cheesecake was delivered. The person who delivered it looked like one of the kitchen staff and the spine of the spoon was touching the cheesecake (see pictures). That may not be a big deal to some, but to me is unprofessional. The hostess staff was awesome! They got me seated in about 5 minutes by doing a quick cleanup on a nearby table. Very happy with that. I didn't finish any of the main course or dessert. I had it boxed, paid the bill and split. When I got to the hotel, I dumped it because I wasn't excited about eating it as a leftover. Italian food is my favorite and if I don't want the leftovers, it wasn't that remarkable. I might try it again when I'm back in town. The kitchen and wait staff may have had an "off" night. We'll see.
