My daughters have been attending Apple Montessori School in Oakland for almost 3 years (oldest) and…read more2 years (youngest). We transferred my oldest from another school because the other school did not mesh well with her personality. The moment we moved her to AMS, almost instantly, my daughter fell in love with the environment and the warm staff so much that the struggle of getting her to go to school was no longer an issue. We find the activities and curriculum to be engaging, logical and incrementally challenging. The math bead system that they have introduced to my daughter is a gold standard for education. I know my daughters will be very well prepared for later years in school. I think, overall, the best aspect of AMS is the fact that Ms. Ferentinos knows exactly where both my daughters stand in their learning journey. She has a great plan in mind for both my daughters and I'm confident she will continue to challenge them. The assistants are equally as amazing. Its the little things they do that makes the experience even better. Ms. Buckley braiding my daughters hair makes my daughters feel so special. And its an absolute comfort to drop them off every morning because of Mrs. Dermos' and Ms. Rolos' warm bubbly personalities. During these difficult pandemic times, we've seen the school really step up their game and implement world class safety precautions. This really makes us feel comfortable with sending our girls to school. Even before the pandemic, they had all ready upgraded the schools with the large UV sanitation cabinet equipment. We're very pleased with the level of education provided by AMS and we're so lucky to have found this school!

There were some good teachers too that had a positive impact. Overall a very mixed experience, if all children are treated the same it would be a great school for kids.

I left her there on the first day not knowing anyone and my nerves were through the roof. Once I picked her up that day she was so excited about couldn't wait to go back (she never did that in the other school) When I tell you my daughter learned SO much it actually brings tears to my eyes, her teacher Mrs. Liz is the absolute BEST. The place is filled with friendly teachers & staff, all classrooms & facilities are SPOTLESS & most importantly it felt SAFE. I'm so sad my daughter is leaving the school to start kindergarten in the fall but let me just say they are BY FAR the best! Thank you TLE of FRANKLIN LAKES you have exceeded all of our expectations & we will forever thank you for everything! Milania & I will miss you!

We started them off slowly with half days and found that they asked to stay longer. I'm sharing my personal experience with this daycare so other parents can make an informed…read moredecision. We enrolled under what was clearly labeled a 10-month contract. I was informed at the time that this type of contract is typically offered to teachers; however, the director offered it to us as a courtesy when we were preparing to leave, due to the school's 12-month schedule and lack of a guaranteed September spot if a child is withdrawn for July and August. I was clear with the director that I am not a teacher, and the contract was still offered and signed. Based on vocal and written communication, my understanding was that this agreement allowed my child to be out for July and August while maintaining her enrollment for September. Recently, we were unexpectedly asked to confirm our intentions for the next school year. When I referenced the 10-month contract, I was told someone would follow up with me, which did not happen. I then emailed for clarification. The owner responded by stating that I had misunderstood the agreement, despite the contract and email I had in writing from her outlining what the 10 month contract is. When I said I would need to consult a lawyer if the agreement was not honored, I was told the owner does not deal with "litigious people," and my child was removed from the program in the middle of the school day. Separately, my child reported being hit by another student on multiple occasions. When these concerns were brought to the owner, I was told that my child was lying. There was also an incident where staff commented negatively on my child's lunch, telling her that yogurt was unhealthy, which I found inappropriate. This review reflects my direct experience only. I encourage parents to ask detailed questions, get all agreements in writing, and carefully consider how concerns and disputes are handled before enrolling.

I would highly recommend this childcare facility.

Like any new parents, we were freaking out about who would watch our new little bundle of joy while we had to go to work. We started searching in our area and surrounding areas for the perfect place, but were very unsuccessful. The places we saw just didn't make us feel comfortable leaving our baby for hours each day. We began to see signs for a new daycare opening and decided to check it out at the open house. We went on a rainy Saturday and completely fell in love. Now at this point we had already had our baby, so we were even picker with our search then we had been when I was pregnant. When we first walked through the doors of the daycare we both just knew this was the place for our little girl. We immediately meet the owner Craig who was beyond amazing. He walked us through the entire facility explaining every single detail. He showed us all the security systems in place (even though the neighborhood doesn't call for it) he has top of the line everything. He showed us the amazing cameras to watch your baby on all day!!! As a parent you know this is such a blessing. I didn't see that in any other places in the area. Everything in the facility was kept immaculate. Now I know the place was new so that doesn't seem so amazing, but the organization of papers, documents, toys, child bins and everything your baby could ever need was completely impressive. The other places I saw that were around in the area for a while didn't seem to have any type of organization that could even compare. One place we saw the infant care room doubled as a wreck room. My only concern after seeing the facility was that it was new which made me think the owners would be new to the business, but yet again any concerns we had vanished after hearing Craig and his wife have been in the business for 20 plus years. My husband and I decided right then and there this was without a doubt the place for our daughter. We wanted to sign up on the spot, but Craig encouraged us to go home and take our time and call him when we were ready. He never once pushed us to make a decision like all of the other places. We went home and filled our papers out right away! Now about one month after her first day we couldn't be happier. There are not even words to describe how much we love this facility. The teachers are all absolutely amazing! They keep you completely informed on every detail. There is never a second that someone isn't available to let you know exactly what is going on. On top of that, when you call they never make you feel crazy for calling. They also put your mind at complete ease. Also keep in mind you can watch those magical cameras anytime you want!!! Don't worry about the security of the cameras; you get your own private log in supplied to you. Every day when my husband and I come to pick up our baby she is always all smiles and laughs. She responds so well to all of her care givers there. During the day they keep her plenty occupied with all their toys, swings and bouncer options. They are constantly stimulating her and encouraging wonderful development. They work on tummy time, head strength and motion control. Needless to say our daughter is developing wonderfully with their guidance!! I failed to mention how sweet and lovely each teacher is as well. They are so friendly and make you feel beyond comfortable leaving your child with them all day. Anything you ask them to do they are right on it! There is never one second of worry in your day because you know you child is receiving impeccable care. We also receive text updates and adorable pictures throughout the day as well. To top it off, every single day we receive a report of feedings, changes, naps and everything that went on during the day. You never have to question anything because it is all on a paper that gets sent home with you. This is so awesome to make sure the baby is on track with everything. I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this daycare, the ladies that work there and the owners. I never write reviews, but as new parents finding this place was a true miracle and I sincerely believe all parents should know about it!
