We had high hopes for Prodigy Academie. Our infant and toddler both loved their core teachers, who…read morewere warm, consistent, and truly cared about the children. Unfortunately, our experience with management and some aspects of the overall culture left us deeply disappointed. On a Friday afternoon, we picked up our two-year-old and saw she was visibly upset, which was very out of character. She had been with a new teacher we had never seen before. When we asked what had happened, the initial response was vague. We followed up with management, who told us she had been "gently redirected" after spitting. The explanation felt scripted and evasive, and our questions were met with repeated, circular responses. Our gut instinct told us that something just felt off. Eventually, we were invited to view video footage. It had already been queued to the moment our daughter was crying, but we asked to rewind. That's when we saw what really happened: the teacher aggressively pulled her by the arm, and then left her standing there crying by herself. It was painful to watch. Not only was the physical interaction too rough, but the complete lack of empathy or attempt to comfort her was deeply upsetting. The teacher was let go on the spot, which validated our concern, but we only got the truth because we pushed for it. The claim that she had been spitting was not reflected in the video either; she and her peers were making silly sounds, which was totally age-appropriate behavior. What made this harder to accept was the school's constant emphasis on "transparency." We had been told, both during our tour and in written communication, that parents are always notified about staff changes and that the director is consistently on-site. Neither was true in our experience. The director opened a second location and was rarely present, without formally introducing or announcing the person she had placed in charge. When parents, ourselves included, asked for clarity, the response was defensive rather than collaborative. It also felt like a revolving door of new teachers. The lead teachers in each classroom were consistent and wonderful, but there was frequent turnover among support staff, and we were rarely, if ever, introduced to the new faces working with our children. This raised questions about why so many people were coming and going, especially in a setting that promotes stability and trust for young children. As someone who works in early childhood myself, I came in with a trained lens and tried to give the benefit of the doubt. But even before the arm-pulling incident, there were things that gave me pause, particularly the way certain staff members interacted with children. While many teachers were warm and developmentally appropriate, we also witnessed harsh tone, punitive responses, and outdated disciplinary tactics that didn't reflect best practices. After the incident, we asked if they would consider a small tuition credit as a gesture of goodwill. Instead of a thoughtful conversation, we received an email accusing us of "extortion" and were told to direct any future communication through a lawyer. It was a jarring and frankly alarming response, especially coming from a program that emphasizes partnership and trust with families. Our children were happy with some of the teachers and we're grateful for that. But ultimately, we could no longer trust the leadership team or the culture they fostered. If you're considering this program, know that while it may appear polished from the outside, our experience suggests there are serious cracks beneath the surface.

In our experience, the school had a low tolerance for typical childhood behavior, especially in boys. Expectations felt unusually high for the age group, and the environment was more focused on compliance than on developmental growth. Staff were often reactive in handling behavior, which escalated situations instead of helping, and communication around concerns was vague and unhelpful. At times, conversations with staff even felt inappropriate, which made it hard to feel supported. Since moving to a new school, we've seen a huge improvement. The environment is more enriching, communication is clear, and the teachers truly care about helping our child succeed as he continues through the program.

I'm sharing my personal experience with this daycare so other parents can make an informed…read moredecision. We enrolled under what was clearly labeled a 10-month contract. I was informed at the time that this type of contract is typically offered to teachers; however, the director offered it to us as a courtesy when we were preparing to leave, due to the school's 12-month schedule and lack of a guaranteed September spot if a child is withdrawn for July and August. I was clear with the director that I am not a teacher, and the contract was still offered and signed. Based on vocal and written communication, my understanding was that this agreement allowed my child to be out for July and August while maintaining her enrollment for September. Recently, we were unexpectedly asked to confirm our intentions for the next school year. When I referenced the 10-month contract, I was told someone would follow up with me, which did not happen. I then emailed for clarification. The owner responded by stating that I had misunderstood the agreement, despite the contract and email I had in writing from her outlining what the 10 month contract is. When I said I would need to consult a lawyer if the agreement was not honored, I was told the owner does not deal with "litigious people," and my child was removed from the program in the middle of the school day. Separately, my child reported being hit by another student on multiple occasions. When these concerns were brought to the owner, I was told that my child was lying. There was also an incident where staff commented negatively on my child's lunch, telling her that yogurt was unhealthy, which I found inappropriate. This review reflects my direct experience only. I encourage parents to ask detailed questions, get all agreements in writing, and carefully consider how concerns and disputes are handled before enrolling.

I would highly recommend this childcare facility.

Maria (who runs the center) just flat out cares. She is incredibly thorough in how she and her team look over the kids. She doesn't look at this as "babysitting", she looks at this as a proper school. She highly emphasizes education and constant broadening of the childrens' horizons, and she knows all of the kids in the school very well. Even more, as our son was starting their program she actively encouraged us to stop by with him after hours multiple times, to acclimate him to the environment before starting up. She did everything she could to make sure our child had the smoothest startup possible, and as a result he adjusted really quickly all things considered. I cannot recommend this school enough, it has been an entirely positive experience and I feel my child is being cared for so much more than at some of the local franchised daycares we visited. (Also regarding cost, interestingly they're on the better value side of tuition rates for the area)

I cannot say anything more than how happy and grateful we are to have found Ms. Maria (director of…read morethis school) and the school. My 2-yr old son was in another daycare for a few months and he was bitten by the first month. And then he started biting other kids the following months while that other biting kid was separated to another room. We tried our best to stop him, engaged a speech/behavioral therapist counseling to see what was wrong with him. The therapist said there was nothing wrong with him and was surprised to hear him biting other kids at daycare. The daycare basically gave us a two week warning, that if this happens again, we would need to find a babysitter. We were terrified! By then we were starting doing research around new schools. We visited this school, where Ms. Maria said "please never schedule to go visit the school. Come visit us at any time!!" We did visit unannounced, and Ms. Maria toured us around while hearing our story about biting. She was disheartened to hear about the biting and told us to "never let others label your child." I basically bursted out crying at this and Ms. Maria assured that that will not happen at her school, because she had other kids from his then current daycare have exactly the same issue and came to her school and the kid never bit others any more. There were other kids from other daycare also came because they were unhappy, and she said they were all doing great. I could kind of believe it because the school was so big and open inside, and they basically rotated the rooms throughout the day so the kids get different themed rooms throughout the day. The kids were limited in numbers, the teachers were happy and engaged at all times, and there were intellectual stimulations all around. Like one room was filled with puzzles and trucks, the next room was about music, and then the kitchen, etc. we were so impressed and felt supported. We took her offer to try out a week. As soon as he started going to this school, he never bit any kid or even attempted to do so. They told us he is having a great time and that he is smiling all day. It's been a few weeks now and he is still enjoying the school and he is much, much happier now than ever. I initially didn't look at this place because it was farther than other schools close to our house. But I have heard great stories on a private facebook group of our neighborhood and wanted to just check out how it is. And now I am blown away by the amount of personal, family like environment that the school carries. I am so so glad I got to know Ms. Maria and the crew. I did get to meet one of the other moms who had the same situation and they had exactly the same positive experience at this school for many months now. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nurturing, warm place for your kids to enjoy spending their time at the daycare. It is a hidden gem. They just recently opened a new building and my son is in it. I believe they have more openings because of thay
