I'm only doing this because I do take illnesses seriously and if my son was ill I would have kept him home. He too spent time in the ER last month for RSV so I can understand your concern. My son has asthma and a gag reflex. The gag reflex causes him to easily throw up. This sometimes can be triggered by stuffing his mouth too much or even a heavy cough. His asthma isn't too bad normally, but sometimes when he talks too fast (cold variant asthma). This is what happened on that day, he coughed heavily which triggered his gag reflex. He was sent home due to him throwing up, but we are working with our patrician to get an exemption. Not every sneeze is a cold, not every cough is a virus, and not every throw up is a sign of something contagious. As parents we should look out for each other, I would have appreciated if you asked what happened and expressed your concern in person. God bless.

We always ask our boys what they learned and how their day went at school. On the way to Parish Hall our son was saying, repeating a couple times out loud "I really love school" Teacher, Mrs. Lauren Hopkins (Mrs Lauren Coley) responded to our son's enthusiasm by saying "your dad says you hate school." We were absolutely devastated to hear that Mrs Hopkins would make such a false statement. A teacher's responsibility is to build up a child and to grow him. We believe her words made in front staff and children are demeaning and an attempting to embarrass our family. The principles and mission of YVCS is to nurture a child's mind, spirit, and character, providing a purposeful education. When we drop our boys off at school, we are trusting that the school upholds these standards. We've witnessed some staff at YVCS being awfully rigid to rules and principles. In the beginning of the year, we were often bombarded with negative things said about Luke. We questioned if they were over-emphasizing on disciplinary actions. Our question today is what happens when staff breaks their own rules and responsibilities? Do they hold themselves to the same high standards they hold our children to? As his teacher, we questioned why doesn't Mrs Hopkins concentrate on our son's strengths? He's an incredible leader, he's curios, active and loves to help his classmates. He actually loves to learn. Our sons have over 100 well-made videos on YouTube with their dad exploring subjects like science experiments and building rockets, learning about animals and exploring insects, building a treehouse, creating crafts and adventuring the great outdoors. There's been a number of times where I've picked up our son from school and we've noticed that the "wind has been out of his sails." It is usually in relation to how he feels like he has failed again. Mrs Hopkins words were verified by other staff and kids who overheard her destructive and careless words. We understand God to be one of graciousness. We expect that our child be treated purposefully, with understanding, and with favor. It is also our desire that staff at YVCS be treated with the same care and purposefulness. It is for this reason that we want to school to review Mrs. Hopkins words and follow them with purposeful action. This school will teach your daughter that she is less than her male schoolmates. For example, during a coed civics class the boys claimed that the woman victim in the famous Miranda case (the case that enshrined the right for every suspect to be informed of their legal rights in a language they could understand) should have been raped if she suffered such an offense! This conversation was glossed over by the school administration. No pupil or instructor suffered any disciplinary action. In fact, by being offended by the assertion that the female victim in the Miranda case should have been raped rather than have her purse stolen, I was made to feel like an outcast. I can not stress it enough. If you value your daughter's autonomy and her sense of self, do not send her to this school.

Academically, it's accredited and offers so much. In kindergarten, my son had a full array of subjects: reading, social studies, science, mathematics, music, Spanish, library, and computers. There are 2 kindergarten classrooms and each has its own potty, which is really nice. We LOVED Mrs. Fustukjian! She was the biggest blessing of a kindergarten teacher we could have ever hoped for. She's super organized, firm, but ultra loving to each child. My son thrives in a structured environment and she really helped him to grow. The thing I liked the most was that whenever there was conflict between students, she always took the time to collect the facts and then addressed the issues accordingly. She made my son feel significant and important because he always felt heard and understood. She made our first year at WCCA great and put all our concerns at ease. The PTF (parent/teacher fellowship...their version of PTA) is very involved and supportive. There are a ton of events they put on throughout the year that gives parents an opportunity to volunteer to support the school. They're amazing and as my kids get older, I can't wait to get more involved. Needless to say, all my babies will attend. We've checked out Christian schools between Dublin/Pleasanton all the way up through to Walnut Creek, and we weren't able to find a comparable school that's both Christ centered and academically excellent. It's an awesome reflection of the church (First Baptist of Walnut Creek) and together, it's a great family oriented community to be a part of. My child is being repeatedly bullied by the same boy, pushed from behind and had tan bark thrown at them. When I brought this to the director, she completely dismissed it, claiming the boy just "doesn't know how to express himself," and offered absolutely no solution to keep my child safe. Second, the management is incredibly dishonest and unorganized. They cut the fall schedule from 5 classes to 4 because a teacher is pregnant. They knew this when we enrolled in February, yet the director hid it from us and just copy pasted her weekly emails without mentioning the cut. We only found out two months later because we asked. When we brought up our concerns, the director simply offered to refund our last couple of weeks and send us on our way, showing they do not care about a child's stability. Furthermore, they gave us contradictory stories about enrollment, telling me in person that we were first on the waitlist, but telling my husband we were fifth. Every family deserves to feel completely safe, informed, and supported in their preschool community. I hope sharing these facts helps you find the right, transparent fit for your little one.

The Middle School program has been phenomenal and it's given her a strong academic foundation and the confidence to advocate for herself. But it's like you pay to let your kids out of your home just for playing. There is not focus of learning for kids, not a follow up to what they should achieve and what can be done. Looks like there are teachers they're just nannies over there. Make sure to know what's the school year plan before you realize it's too late for you kiddo. I understand who was disgusted to be proposed to be a teacher that actually wasn't. That's a shame somebody has to regulate all the private schools. Federal government should do something. It's everyone right to have the chance to learn in a Proper way especially when you give to them your Moneys.
