Go here for repairs. They specialize in hybrids, but you can bring any vehicle to them. I've been bringing my vehicles here for 8 years now. They have three bays and great knowledgeable mechanics. I needed a water pump for my Prius. Ibrahim quoted me less than half the price of the dealer quote. I had only gotten the quote from the dealer due to a recall repair I was there for. Oem water pump with 1 year warranty. Great work and amazing service. Auto shops had limited capacity due to the holiday weekend, but despite SSF Auto Center's already busy schedule, Ibrahim thoughtfully listened to our concerns and agreed to complete a diagnostic (free of charge) within a couple days. He even listened to our concern of driving the car at all, and he agreed to hold onto the car until he could complete the diagnostic. I called earlier in the day to see if they could patch my tire with a nail in it. The staff who answered the phone said if I come before 5:30, they'll have time to repair it. I came at 4:40 and a worker said they don't have time to fix a nail in a tire today. I explained that I spoke to someone earlier, etc., but he didn't care. He sent me on my way with no apologies. I went to Chevron on El Camino Real in SSF and they fixed it on the spot. Great efficient tire service, excellent customer service, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They had plenty of cars to work on but they carved out some time to help out a customer in need. This is a an actual honest car repair shop. I had to have the thermostat replaced in my Camry; the reason it was broken is I went in for the "free" oil change at a certain Toyota dealership in San Bruno, but that's another Yelp review. Anyway, I noticed the car engine temperature was consistently below normal and then the service engine light came on. I got the malfunction code readout and started calling car mechanics in the San Bruno/South San Francisco area to get a quote on the thermostat replacement cost. Several places said $600. One guy quoted $900. A couple other places said $500; another said they would do it for $350. SSF Auto Center did it for $175. Done same day I brought in the car. read more

Came in for an aftermarket exhaust installation. They were able to get it installed but claimed that the pipes were too big to put certain parts back on. This is untrue, there are multiple videos of the installation online as it is a very popular exhaust and everything fits if installed properly. They basically did such a poor job that the pipes hung too low to put the brace that goes over (underneath the exhaust mounted to the bottom of the car) and just handed it back to me. Additionally I purchased a carbon fiber rear diffuser that I wanted installed. They first told me it's impossible to do without removing the bumper, which was wrong and I figured out how to do it searching online. They successfully pulled it off (using metal tools causing some scratches, no plastic tools commonly used), but couldn't figure out how to install the new one. They ended up "modifying" it to make it fit, but just broke some of the clips off of it (without asking me first...). This was also wrong as they should have used those mounting points (which I also confirmed with the part manufacturer and by finding people who installed the piece). Because they broke the clips I have no way to mount it. I now have a unusable carbon diffuser that cost me hundreds of dollars and a poorly mounted exhaust (that is an easy install, direct bolt on no cutting or welding required). I had to go find a different shop to fix the poor work I received here. Despite the high rating this shop is pretty bad. I read a Google review (after I went unfortunately) that thinks the 5 star reviews are mostly friends which after seeing the work I'd have to agree with. read more
