I chose Vendettes du Point Neuf due to its proximity to the area where I was staying. It was easy to reach on the Metro as it's located on Point Neuf which is a tip of the Ile de la Cite island that Notre Dame is located on. In this case, I decided just to walk on. It was early May and I sensed that there would be plenty of room available and I was right. I arrived at 2:08 pm and immediately got on the 2:15 pm tour at a cost of 17€. I found out they have a tour boat that leaves every thirty minutes for the one hour tour. We left promptly on time sitting on top of the open air uncovered deck with great unobstructed views. The boat has a drink and snack bar on board in addition to water closets for the guests. The boat moves at about 10 miles an hour and circled the Ile de la Cite island with great views of Notre Dame and then proceed down the river passing the Orsay Museum and continuing all of the way down to the Eiffel Tower for more great views of it, There we turned around and proceeded back to the starting point arriving one hour after leaving. It was an enjoyable cruise. The weather was comfortably cool and the narrator on board did a good job of describing everything that we passed by. At the end he does stand at the exit hoping for a tip. I felt the cruise was well worth the cost and would recommend it depending on the weather.

We could only see the tip of the Eiffel Tower and very limited fireworks. There was not any information or "guide" provided about Paris or the buildings we did pass. We spent around $250 USD for 4 people. They did not offer refunds or even a cruise for another day.

We went to one of the first departures in the morning since we had tickets to take the elevator up to the top of the Eiffel Tower, In hindsight, I wish that I booked the Eiffel Tower tickets first then the boat ride as I visited in the summer and its not uncommon for the tower to shut down early due to hot weather (which is what happened in our case). Like others noted, the departure time wasn't exactly right on time. We ended up getting a 10 minute delayed start. This is normally okay, but we had lunch reservations right after that we were late for. Overall, it was a nice day out on the water. I liked that they offered a kid-friendly tour, which was perfect since half our family group included kids. But it was fun enough for the adults to enjoy too.

It was pretty easy to do this online, which is more than I can say for the other group excursions I organized for this trip. Tickets were €21 per adult, €10 for our six-year-old, and free for the other two kids, our younger son squeaking through a month before his fourth birthday. Not bad for a one-hour boat ride. Vedettes is a major player in the Paris tourism game, an enormous operation with cruises running every half hour from 10AM to 5:45PM every day of the week. The boats are big, and you can expect to share your cruise amid a throng of tourists. Not the most luxurious or personalized experience, but it gets you on the water at that mass market price point. Our tickets were for a Thursday at 5:45, the last departure of the day. We scheduled it for after our 4:00 entry to the Eiffel Tower, and it worked out quite nicely, as the meeting point was right by the tower. There was a long line to get on the boat, and we absolutely did not leave at 5:45, but other than that, it was really smooth sailing. We found seats among the many rows of benches on deck and enjoyed the river equivalent of a popular bus tour, cruising down the Seine while a guide pointed out notable sights in both English and French. It was pleasant and relaxing, and I wasn't mad when my jet-lagged three-year-old fell asleep on my lap. My toddler niece had a good time running around, but there were enough kids doing the same that it wasn't a problem. We got dropped off at the same place we got on, around 7:00. We were late to dinner, as I'd anticipated an on-time departure, but as no one in Paris eats that early anyway, this wasn't a problem. The Vedettes cruise was not my favorite way of seeing the city, but it worked well for a large group with children on the first full day of the trip. Would recommend if a busy boat tour fits your travel needs.

We've been on the classic Seine tour before, but this is a big cut above. Starting off on the canal in the 10th ar., a spot in Paris that's a bit less polished and touristy, you board the double decker boat (inside or outside seating) about 20-30 min prior. You go through 3 different locks (of 9 total on the canal) on what was the food highway for Paris back in the day-over 27 meters lower by the time you reach the Seine. Shortly after lock 2, the canal goes underground! For 2KM! And you eventually pass directl beneath the 50 M tall obelisk of the place de Bastille. The bi-lingual guide, Thomas, narrated along the entire 2-hour route. Once you exit the canal, you travel down the seine past the Statue of Liberty and finish back at the Pont Neuf bridge. So much better than the other swine cruises and we were lucky to have only about 35 people on board so plenty of room to get Pix.

A little hard booking and finding, but worth it!…read more I found this river tour/cruise from a recommendation from some travel bloggers. They mentioned a few things that made me want to book. It's a little messy with the booking and the website but no issues. I recommend you book ahead just to be safe. We added the champagne and the charcuterie board. Day of the tour, it is a little tough finding it. The confirmation email and voucher have the two locations of the other cruises but not the actual one you will be on! I had to read reviews to know that you don't meet at either. You meet at Pont Neuf. On a map it shows as Quai de l'Horloge, Paris, France. Just a handy FYI as we almost missed our ship. Once on, it's not the nicest but it certainly isn't bad. The guide was good and the views amazing. We were able to see the the Eiffel Tower sparkle and did a nice loop on the river. It was beautiful! I would do again but there are nicer tours. If you don't want to spend a fortune, this one is just fine!
