This was the most tourist-y thing that I did during my most recent trip to Paris and it was worth trying at least once. I would probably come back again if my kids wanted to try it. My girlfriend and I opted for the dinner cruise option which is offered daily. They also offer a lunch cruise as well as a cruise without the food. For dinner, they offer the two menus, the Prestige and the Excellence which are priced per person. We went with the Prestige which started off with an aperitif, moved over to started, an entree, dessert, and coffee. Both white and red wines are offered along with champagne. The food was average and not very memorable and it was definitely all about the setting than the cuisine. The service was friendly and attentive during our experience, and the views along the Seine were absolutely beautiful, especially as the city lit up at night. It's worth it if you want a relaxed evening on the water with great views of Paris.

    SEINE RIVER TOUR

Million dollar views of the Seine River in Paris France while coasting on the Bateaux Mouches with 300 other tourists. This river tour is a combined excursion with the catacombs exhibit for only $100.00. Absolutely worth every penny I spent for the spectacular views. I suggest boarding quickly for a seat on the top of the boat for best views. There is a gift shop open prior to boarding with pricey Paris related items.

We happened upon this river cruise because it was included with a ticket to the catacombs. It was kind of a gloomy day, but still had fun, cruising the river with our friends and seeing the sites.

Closeups like this are only possible by boat.

5 Tips to get the most out of the Bateaux Mouches and make it a 5 star experience: (1) Pre-book your tickets before you arrive in Paris. They are valid for two years, so you can time the tour depending on weather and how the rest of your visit is going. Skip the dinner cruise. Spend the money you save on a nice meal onshore instead. (2) Arrive 30-40 minutes before the cruise you want and get in queue. Have your uber or taxi take you all the way to the ticket area vs. drop you on the bridge. (3) Don't let ANYONE (especially aggressive tour guides with large groups) cut in front of you. Try to be first (or early) on the boat you want. We wanted to board the 8:30 pm cruise yesterday as sunset was at 8:37 pm local time, and we got on that boat by arriving around 8 pm. (4) Sit on the lower deck on the port (left) side vs. the upper deck. You'll see everything and fewer people will get in your way. Also, don't pay attention to the pre-recorded narration of the sights - read up on major landmarks ahead of time and use your physical or smart phone map to orient yourself. (5) The best sunset cruise sights are in the beginning (Louvre, Notre Dame in daylight) and the end (Assemblée Nationale and Eiffel Tower lit up at night). If you time it correctly you'll see the Eiffel Tower doing its post-sunset flashing display at the top of the hour! Enjoy!!

Riverboat dinner cruise on the Seine through the heart of Paris. A couple things to consider here: first, the food they offer. second, the views they enable. So first, the food. Nothing special. They give you a menu when you sit down and you order everything up front, which is nice because that frees you up to go outside or topside for views of the city. We ordered our food and enjoyed our bottle of champagne, which was included in our ticket. The champagne was decent, though an average offering, not like France's finest or anything. The food was decent, nothing to write home about, but certainly nothing bad either. So all in all, from a food perspective, yeah not bad. From the perspective of seeing Paris, there's really only one way to get some of these views, and that's on board the boat. The views from the boat are some of the best you can get, without the worry of being crowded out by tourists. They also have it timed extremely well; our boat happened to go past the Eiffel Tower just as the clock struck 10 PM, which meant all the twinkle lights lit up. That being said, you can get some pretty great views of all these places when not on the boat, either, so it really depends on your preferences there. For me, the most fun was waving to people on the shore, mostly locals who hang out in the evenings along the river. I realize that sounds incredibly corny, but it started to become a game of who you could get the attention of and who would acknowledge back. That might've been the champagne talking, but whatever. Regardless, it's a unique experience in the heart of Paris. Is it worth the cost? That really is down to you. The food is average, but the experience is certainly fun. I probably wouldn't do it again, but i'm glad i did it once.

This is your classic tourist trap attraction. We took this dinner cruise our first night in Paris as we thought it would be a great way to get a lay of the land. First off, our sailing left late as they were waiting for a group that was running behind. This meant our first course was served while docked instead of while sailing. The whole experience felty tacky, no real guide as to what you were seeing. The food was "meh" at best. The best part were the views of the Eiffel Tower for sure. Would not recommend

We did the evening dinner cruise in Paris just before the Olympics began -the Prestige menu. It was a great experience, and I'm glad I finally had a chance to do it. Finding the boat was a little challenging because of all the barriers and blockades set up in advance of the Olympics, but they had someone stationed with a sign to help direct folks to an alternate pathway. Check in was a breeze. After check in, there's an outdoor bar and lounge area where you can relax and have a drink before boarding the boat. We had a glass of champagne before boarding and probably would have stayed longer, but we wanted to make sure we got a nice table with a good view for the evening. There are some interior tables not beside the windows, but the cruise wasn't booked enough to require those to be filled. Everyone got a window table. Had I known that, we might have stayed a little longer to enjoy the bar-lounge area. Service started as soon as we were seated. Our server was friendly and seemed to check in on us at just the right time. The interior of the boat was nice enough with red table cloths and overhead lighting that looks like stars in the sky when the sun goes down. We opted for the Prestige Menu. The meal began with an amuse bouche (something like a gazpacho) and an aperitif Castel Mouche. For appetizers my partner and I both had the foie gras. It was served with nori, carrot puree, and some crispy wontons and bread, of course. I really enjoyed the combination of the briney taste of the nori, crispiness of the wontons, and the richness of the foie gras. We got to choose between a bottle of red or white wine to go with our meal, and we chose the red, which was good enough. My partner, who knows much more about wine than I do, said it was decent. For our entrees, I chose the duck breast with mashed potatoes and my partner selected the veal. The duck was okay but not great. The skin wasn't at all crispy. My partner enjoyed the veal and the potatoes along with it were tasty (he generously shared a taste). For dessert, I had the chocolate peanut crisp and my partner had the raspberry and pistachio tartlet. Our server told us those were his two favorite desserts. The chocolate crisp was rich and decadent, and the raspberry tartlet was much lighter. We were so full by the time dessert came we weren't able to finish them. Be sure to come hungry! We walked around Paris for an hour after our dinner cruise to help digest our big meal. It may be a dinner cruise, but it's really about the views. There were no interruptions to announce what we were passing by, but fortunately I had my personal French guide by my side to point out the sights. The cruise gets to the Eiffel Tower and turns around nearby at just the perfect time to get photos when the lights go on the Tower. They timed this perfectly. I'd absolutely recommend this dinner cruise when in Paris. Very nice experience.

Overall this is a great option for sightseeing in Paris! As a first time visitor, this was a top priority to see the bulk of the city from their famous artery, the Seine River. Bateaux Mouches is perfectly situated between the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, so you can really work it into whatever part of your trip is easiest. It's an hour-long "tour" that costs only ~$15, so amazing bang for your buck. I could not see eating sub par food while in France, so dining while on the boat was out - I think I made the correct call. This river cruise will give you amazing views of the main monuments and provide wonderful opportunities for photo opps. My sister and I sat on the lower level outside so we didn't have to share a row with anyone, and this was also the correct call. A few additional notes: + The audio component of this tour is...not great. It's in 6 different languages and is basically just a sentence or two. You aren't getting any wild behind the scenes knowledge. + Bring food! Bring drinks! We didn't do this and should have. + If you sit on the side, you'll still see everything perfectly fine. Just wait for the turnaround. + Bathrooms are there but they are bare bones and toilet paper-less + Buy online ahead of time to avoid queueing at the trailer. The process to buy online is very easy and good for really any tour any time. They leave every half hour. Have yourself a time! This is a great option to work into your Paris itinerary.

There are a few different Seine cruise companies but Bateaux Mouches is the most popular (I think). For a relatively reasonable €14, you get a one hour cruise that goes from Bastille to past the Eiffel Tower. You can choose to add a split of champagne (€20, rip-off imo) or take dedicated lunch/dinner cruises. Evening tours are very popular as the city is beautifully lit, and of course you get the sparkly Eiffel. A real plus is that you can buy a ticket ahead and use it anytime - meaning you can wait for a perfectly sunny day vs having to reserve ahead. I enjoyed my cruise - it's a good way to see the city and a nice way to get off your feet. That said, expect many of your fellow tourists to be inconsiderate assholes. Insta girls, I'm looking at you. Literally no one is going to watch an hour long video of you pulling duck lips for an hour. Sheeesh.

My fiancé and I booked a dinner cruise with Bateaux Mouches and really enjoyed it! The process was very organized. We went to a registration spot and they had our name right on the sheet and what boat we would be on. We were also seated right away! Our server was very friendly, however she didn't service us as much as we would have liked. It took us a bit to order and she forgot to bring us some portions of our meal. This would have been fine, but the meals were smaller than we had thought. It was all very delicious though and the live music was a treat! Seeing the Effiel Tower from the Seine was really fun, but I'm wondering if seeing the river in the daylight would have been better. There wasn't much to see with how dark everything was. Overall I am very happy that we chose to do the river cruise for dinner, but would maybe try out a different option next time!

Great boat ride. Wish the AC Inside was stronger. It was deadly hot the day we went. Views were great!

The dinner cruise was very dreamy. We booked this 4 course dinner cruise by the Seine and was not expecting much. Every single food that they serve us with amazing, with snail being my favorite. The food was amazing and the timing when they turned the boat around to see the Eiffel sparkle was magic. Highly highly recommend

There are many river cruises available. This one was a short walk from our hotel and recommended by the concierge. Boats come every hour. Easy to purchase tickets to a walk up booth. Be in line 30-15 minutes before launch to have first pick at seats. A drink vendor outside the gate and inside for a cold drink while you wait. The upper deck open air seating is by far the best views (weather permitting) with the side chair having unobstructed camera shots. Many take selfies from the front and rear decks when the Eiffel Tower is in view. Tune out the inaudible tour speaker describing the various attractions. Just soak in the moment. A must ride when visiting Paris!
