Spending meaningful time on or around the river that runs through Paris is never a bad idea. We had already sat on the riverbanks & strolled along the promenades, now it was time to cruise the River Seine. There are several cruise companies that'll take you on the water; we chose an 8:45pm Sunset Cruise aboard Vedettes du Pont Neuf. The per-person price of 25 € for one hour includes either champagne, wine, or soda. Our tour guide threw out a couple historical fun facts in English & French, but for the most part, she played 80s yacht rock & asked for any music requests which was fun. As the sun started to set, we sailed under bridges, with the most beautiful being Pont Alexandre III, & past landmarks like Notre-Dame & Musee d'Orsay. In late August when we went, the sky was not yet completely dark as we came upon the Eiffle Tower, which was illuminated but not sparkling. The tour guide told us where to stand after our cruise to get the best view of the light show. There are bathrooms on board, & the lower deck is enclosed for protection from the cold or rain.

We'd considered going on the more expensive dinner cruises and came across Vendettes' sunset cruise. The price was right and included a "glass" of champagne (plastic, and not to be kept). We started out going around the île de la Cité and then headed towards the Eiffel Tower. We were not disappointed! This was truly a highlight of our trip. They timed the ride perfectly, and we got to see the sun set, and were in time to see when the Eiffel Tower started to sparkle. It truly was magical.

This was a very nice river cruise down the Siene River. We had booked the sunset cruise. Just beautiful! Our tour guide spoke French and then repeated what he said in English. Very informative about the historical facts of Paris and the building and monuments. Relaxing cruise! Well worth the cost! Really enjoyed the tour information as we sailed up and down the Siene River!

I booked in advance, but it was a flexible ticket. I tried to find out in advance if we were able to use the flexible ticket for sunset hours, but my French is not strong enough. In the end we were able to use the ticket at sunset which was perfect. We opted for a cruise without food as I figured it might be difficult to accommodate allergies on a boat. The cruise was such a great idea, planned for our first night but then deferred to another night because we were too tired. It's beautiful to see all the landmarks lit up (even better after we asked the dude in front of us to stop angling his arm so strangely while he was constantly taking pictures).

This company offers every type of Seine cruise you might want: dinner cruise, lunch, sunset, happy hour or even just a basic discovery cruise which is the least expensive of them all. I appreciate that they cater to whatever type of experience and price point you're looking for. We thought we'd go for the sunset cruise which is also the happy hour cruise priced at 23€ and includes one glass of wine, champagne, beer or a soft drink. I was hoping to get some great shots of Paris at sunset, but since we were visiting in November we just ended up with gray gloom. That didn't take away from the enjoyment of the cruise though. It was quite cold (again, being November) but they very thoughtfully provide their guests with blankets - a nice touch. It's a wonderful feeling to be gliding down the Seine seeing all those beautiful landmarks like Notre Dame, the Louvre etc. And they always seem to stop at the Eiffel Tower just as it lights up for the evening. Very magical! We did not have running commentary. The bartender would just occasionally hop on and announce a building which was okay with us. The booking and boarding process was all very easy. My only small complaint was the music. They played very old pop music and even though it was just a one hour cruise, the songs repeated. They really needed to have better atmosphere than that and I'm sure they could do better than playing the same songs. Despite that hiccup we really enjoyed the cruise. We knew going in November would be cold and gray but loved the experience anyway, and Vedettes gives you a memorable experience. Other boats looked really packed and crowded but we felt relaxed and taken care of.

We did this our first night in Paris, and it was a great way to start off. They timed our arrival at the Effie Tower for when it would first light up and then start flashing lights, which was very exciting. The one downside was it was difficult to hear the guide from the top of the boat. The guide was speaking in French and English.

We are lucky to have family in France and they also took us around several times. As a local, our cousin took us to this cruise operator nearest to the Notre Dame for a ride down the River Seine. He liked this particular location because it is never jam packed with tourists like sardines. This was during July and the peak of the summer season. Which we saw at a lot of the boats that sailed past us. I felt bad seeing them crammed up against each other trying to get pictures of the scenery while we had more than ample room to leisurely move around and pick different spots, resulting in great photos and videos. Price was under 15 Euros was reasonable for a day tour of about an hour or so down the Seine River. Highly suggest putting this on your itinerary after visiting Notre Dame, versus jumping on the other cruise boat companies by the Eiffel Tower, where you are packed to the brim. I even saw some boats where people had to stand and no seating available. *TIP : stay on the left side of the boat if you want the Eiffel Tower to show up on your side

This lovely 2 hour dinner boat cruise was one of my favorite things that we did on our trip to Paris for our 20th anniversary! I highly recommend it. Before you go, I advise you to double check and triple check where you are departing from. Depending on which cruise you have chosen, it will depart from a different area. Here on yelp, the main departure point is listed on the map, but that's only one of several possible points of departure. We had booked a cruise that left from the Alexander III Bridge location. We were confused and a little lost and showed up minutes after the boat had already departed. Disappointing! Fortunately, when we called the company and explained our error, they were understanding and let us go on a different cruise the next night instead. Really glad they helped straighten that out! The boat ride was gentle and smooth, and give us nice views of Paris at night. The most fantastic part was when it stopped by the Eiffel tower at exactly 11 PM as the lights on the tower started to sparkle. That was perfect timing! I was thrilled. The food and wine was very good, the servers were polite and attentive, and the soft background music of French songs set a pleasant mood. I'm really grateful that we followed people's suggestions and chose this cruise company over any of the others. I would love to take a dinner cruise with them again.

Honestly probably any of the competing boat companies have the same route and offer the same core experience. This rating is for the activity of taking the boat cruise. I have done it a few times out of the many that I have been in Paris, and it's always been a highlight. Even though I tend to eschew touristy activities, this is one that is worth it. You are on a boat on the Seine. What more? You see the Pont Neuf, the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, the first hospital, Notre Dame, and of course the Tour Eiffel. They give the tour in English and French. Our guide spoke very good English, and as I understand both languages, I can confirm that it was the same information. Taking this during the golden hour would be ideal but anytime will be a great experience. Tip: if you want to take photos, sit on an edge seat. The boat turns around so you will see almost everything twice, and your side will come along.

Took a boat ride in France and it was with this company. The place is very close to the Lourve. Very walkable and they have multiple times to pick when you get it online. We picked a night cruise just because we wanted to see the evening lights on. It was quite pretty. The boat was pretty packed with even people from France and a ton of students with teachers taking a nice boat ride. It was also comfortable and not too rocky, also there was a lady on the speaker that spoke in French and also English, talking about the history and different houses and statues that are on the bridges.

I like the night cruise especially the last cruise to see the sprinkling light of Eiffel Tower. They have cruise start from the tower or near the Norte Dames. We pick the cruise starting point at near Norte Dames Cathedral. It went eastward first towards the Accor Arena. Then it turn back to westward towards the Eiffel Tower. The cruise like to board 45 minutes before departure. It is at the island near Square du Vert-Galant. You need to find the stair down to the dock. Along the river is really light up building. You can see many night light buildings. Includes palace and museum. The highlight of the night is reach the Eiffel Tower before nine PM. During nine PM the tower is darkened the lid with sprinkles light. Many of them. It is beautiful. That is why this cruise for.

Okay so let's talk dinner cruises and what you're paying for…read more 1) First and foremost you're paying for the captain and crew to safely navigate the ship. When you take a look at the length of these vessels, the current in the river, the narrowness of the waterway and how they twist the ship in these conditions- they're impressive ship handlers. And on top of it all, they time it to make sure your first view of the Eiffel Tower is as it starts sparkling. Brilliant. 2) The food. Now most dinner cruises aren't actually known for their food. This wasn't my favorite meal of the trip, but it was damn good. And when you realize there's a staff below cranking out these options in a galley below decks while under way, there's some mad respect for the quality they're able to achieve. 3) The experience. There's live music and there's great views. All in all... you sit back and just enjoy the sites. Just remember... the more you pay for your menu, the closer you sit to the windows. But hey, that's why you came right? Anyways, is this a total tourist trap- hell yes. But I wouldn't have it any other way. It was pricey, but I certainly didn't feel ripped off. And watching my son's eyes light up the first time he saw the Eiffel Tower at night was worth every penny.

We did seem to leave a bit too late (we were on time with the scheduled time but I think it should have been earlier) so it was pretty dark when we left and we didn't really get to see any sunset, mostly just twilight and the dark. There also isn't any narration and an optional audio guide might have been nice. Finally, I found it pretty hard to see any of Notre Dame from the bottom deck. These improvements would make this experience better but it was still great and the price is reasonable. Some tips: sit on the left side of the boat (when facing forward) for the best Eiffel Tower views and consider sitting on the top for even better views into everything. Dress warmly if it is the fall or winter as it does get pretty cold since you're on the water. To find the pier, use Google maps- it is well marked and the directions to get there are good.
