First time trying this spot because I was in the area looking for food. Ordered it Togo but upon entering it was semi-packed inside and that reassured me this place had to be good. I have been to 3 locations: Pembrook Pines, Wynwood and also Doral. The consistency across all 3 is superb. I love the tacos here! Especially the taco Tuesday specials, where you can get 3 tacos for the price of 3. Also, unlike other taco Tuesdays, the tacos are HUGE. I am talking I usually ask for another tortilla because the filling is falling out huge. They also will give extra pineapple with the al pastor if you ask. In the middle of the table are an array of sauces (5 or 6?) to add to tacos. But be wary- some are VERY spicy (and I like spice). Their margaritas are a bit on the sour side for my taste but I love the agua de jamaica. I have to confess that I always intend to try other types of tacos and the other dishes they have to offer but always stray to my tried and true favorite (sorry piggies). It is a cute little space well decorated to give a comfortable ambience. The service is also excellent. I have also ordered these tacos at home through a delivery service and arrive the same in quality. With the exception of Wynwood (because it is Wynwood), there is a free parking lot. Biggest quesadilla I had ever had. It was a little pricy but it was amazing! I would come back and get it again! The restaurant is cute, but it doubles as a sit down which is interesting as you would have to pay for service but we just took it to go which saved us a few dollars on a tip. I also didn't love that the menu above the counter that you order at did not have the prices. It was a little weird to me. But they have smaller menus that have all prices. I also ordered Churros which came topped with Nutella and a scoop of Dulce de Leche ice cream on top. I felt they put way too much Nutella. I personally prefer churros that are crispy on the outside while retaining a light and airy inside, these, however, were completely stiff all the way through. The place is small but it didn't feel closed-in; it's nicely decorated, very clean, and table placement was good for the space. The service is fairly quick and friendly. We tried the birria tacos and the chorizo tacos. They were flavorful but a bit too greasy and overly seasoned for my taste. Each order brings two tacos of medium size - not big, but not small either. The biggest issue however, are the prices. Our 2 orders of tacos and 2 refreshments (non-alcoholic) cost us a whopping $32 before adding tip. We asked for chips and salsa, but it would have cost an additional $10... we politely turned it down. I just couldn't spend $10 on chips and salsa here. I've had my fair share of dining experiences, but this one stands out in all the wrong ways. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that service was going to be an issue. For the entire hour and a half we were there, our server, Carrero, barely paid us any attention. We ordered food right away and were served fairly quickly--no issues there. However, we ordered drinks that never came, not during our meal, not even as we were getting ready to leave. So, we essentially had to eat our meal without drinks, which felt rushed and uncomfortable. Adding to the disappointment, we felt pushed to make our food order right away, only to be essentially forgotten after that. For a place that seemed eager for us to order and eat quickly, you'd think they would at least bring out everything we asked for. The food was average at best--nothing worth the hassle. There are definitely better taco places out there that won't leave you thirsty or feeling rushed. Even after I specifically told the waitress that we'd each be paying for our own items, she still put everything on the same bill. This seemed like a tactic to automatically add that 18% gratuity since our total went over $50. Don't be surprised if drinks that were never brought show up on your bill, and be prepared to pay $2 for water. Finally, don't expect any basics like chips or water to start--they don't bring them, and, apparently, drinks are optional here. If you're okay with a rushed, thirsty experience with unnecessary charges, go for it. Otherwise, find another spot that values your time, money, and dining experience. I wish I could give this place 0 stars, giving just one star seems too generous. Save your money and go somewhere else for tacos. read more
