Mauricio was at the bar and we definitely missed being under his attention by not sitting there. Eliezer (the Venezuelan waiter from Mérida) took care of us in the dining room. Both are always very friendly and attentive. This time we decided to sit in the dining room because we were a group of three and had a lot to talk about. The place has 4 TVs and we were able to enjoy the France vs Spain match. We all ordered La Tropical Draft beer, a light, smooth, and very refreshing blonde. In total we had 16 beers . We shared nachos with grilled steak, which were very good (they pour the melted cheese right at the table). We also ordered tripa tacos well toasted (that's the technique) as we requested, and they came out excellent. Note: They have different promotions or offers depending on the day, not a regular happy hour variety, so it's good to be aware of that. The restaurant offers a good variety of 8 salsas: Sirloin, Chips, Guacamole, Verde, Vicente, Pastor, Chilanga, and Asada. Good atmosphere, pleasant service, and tasty food. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Especially the taco Tuesday specials, where you can get 3 tacos for the price of 3. Also, unlike other taco Tuesdays, the tacos are HUGE. I am talking I usually ask for another tortilla because the filling is falling out huge. They also will give extra pineapple with the al pastor if you ask. In the middle of the table are an array of sauces (5 or 6?) to add to tacos. But be wary- some are VERY spicy (and I like spice). Their margaritas are a bit on the sour side for my taste but I love the agua de jamaica. I have to confess that I always intend to try other types of tacos and the other dishes they have to offer but always stray to my tried and true favorite (sorry piggies). It is a cute little space well decorated to give a comfortable ambience. The service is also excellent. I have also ordered these tacos at home through a delivery service and arrive the same in quality. With the exception of Wynwood (because it is Wynwood), there is a free parking lot. Sincerely my go to place for tacos. I also love La Potrcana for tacos, but they are so TINY in comparison. Truly, do yourself a favor and the next taco crave you have, go here!

The quesabirria is a birria-filled quesadilla, topped with cilantro and onions, with a side of consommé and chips. A huge portion (too much to each at lunchtime, so it'll also be dinner), delicious, flavorful, and tender birria, and just enough salty tortilla chips to break up the richness of the quesadilla. I am used to my consommé being a little bit thicker, but it's still a great accompaniment. It came out quickly, so no long waiting. And the interior is so chic: Gives me "Day of th Dead" vibes with its dim interior lighting with pops of neon colors.

Chicken on the salad was good, but it seemed like there was no dressing though the menu stated there was "homemade Caesar" dressing. I would've asked for more but it honestly didn't even seem worth it at that point. Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.
