Great donuts. I was in town for a work project and had to stop by to try them. The staff and the locals were super friendly. I had stopped by at 6am after finishing work, but they had a sign that said they were opening at 8am for that day only. I came back around 10:30 (found out the owner had passed away) and you could see the selection was a little picked over (always a good sign that people come early to get what they want). In the past their donuts have been fresh. Today I bought a dozen filled donuts. I noticed when I got home the chocolate on the donuts was dried/hard. The donut portion was very stale. These had to have been at least "day old" donuts. Very disappointing...$12 down the drain. Will not go there again!!! read more

This is one of my favorite places in Ashtabula county. Years back, my friend & I would drink their strong coffee, eat their custard filled donuts & play cribbage. The staff is wonderful; the treats are great; & the atmosphere is special. read more

For the only donut shop in Ashtabula selection and price is horrible . No sour cream donuts ,apple fritters are tiny and expensive, regular donuts priced from 55 to 75 cents, no danish,only 2 counters 1 donuts , 1 for cookies , it's gotten really sad. read more

What a great little place. These guys carry all the baked goodies any Northeast Ohioan might want. You can pick up pizza dough, nisua (!!), and an assortment of cookies and doughnuts. They make peanut butter cream-filled/chocolate-iced donuts that are quite good. The glazed and cream sticks are pretty good, though a bit heavy. Staff is friendly, and the place is often very busy. The atmosphere is your typical donut shop but with nautical decor. The building is very cool (mid-century modern), but the nautical wallpaper and border on the interior is unfortunate and kills the mood. I find myself getting all my orders to-go. I am so glad SSB is in Ashtabula, and I hope it stays for a long time. It's a great neighborhood place. read more

Awesome bakery. If you have a sweet tooth ask for a "stop sign, " absolutely the best doughnuts in the world. They come in different flavors: chocolate, maple and lemon. Customer service is very friendly. Their other baked treasures are excellent. Yummy! read more
