I had a crazy emergency this morning. During the night, a raccoon knocked over a gallon of white paint on my deck. It poured through between the deck boards onto the concrete patio below. I called Squeaky Clean and they were so understanding and helpful. They sent Gary H. out right away. He went right to work power washing the entire area and got every bit of the paint off of the concrete. Amazing! Gary H. and the team at Squeaky Clean are the best! Based on a disappointing experience (see full story below), my advice to anyone using Squeaky Clean for window cleaning or other services is to VERIFY PRICING in advance & in detail (even if you have previously done business with them or Pioneer Cleaning, which they now operate), VERIFY PRICING in detail before the job starts & VERIFY PRICING again before you pay. You may also want to ask how they define a "pane" of glass, which is an important element of their window-washing pricing. The rest of this review explains what happened to us & why we offer this advice. We have been longtime customers of Pioneer Cleaning, which apparently has been acquired by Squeaky Clean. We own rental properties & had used Pioneer to help us with gutter cleaning, carpet cleaning, window washing & power-washing at all our properties. In short, we were satisfied customers & felt Pioneer did good work & was transparent and fair in pricing. In early June, I emailed Squeaky Clean about pricing for window-washing our duplex-style townhome. I asked because we understand that prices can go up because of inflation & change of ownership/management transition. My email inquiry specifically mentioned we had windows and skylights. I also mentioned that we would be doing fewer windows than in previous years (because of work happening on the first floor that would immediately undo their work in cleaning any windows in that area). Squeaky Clean's 6/3 email response was "Per your history, there are 42 panes of glass, which is $357." That was comparable to what we paid last year ($340), so we went ahead & scheduled. We also added awning power washing for an agreed upon price. I scheduled the work for July 8. We understood pricing including cleaning all our windows inside & out as well as brushing off any window screens. On site, we did omit 8 or 9 panes of glass, but added the equivalent of 2 back when the power washing got our neighbors' windows wet because of the breeze. I counted that Squeaky Clean washed 30 panes (defining a "pane" as an undivided sheet of glass with four corners) at our house + the 2 at our neighbors' (where they did 4 exterior windows--2 large plate glass windows & a small sliding , two-pane window). That count would have made the window-washing portion of our bill $272). Imagine our surprise when we were charged for 50 panes of glass (at $8.50 each or $425) PLUS $80 for the skylights, or a total of $505 for the window-washing portion of the bill. (Actually, we had to ask for the itemized invoice; it didn't arrive as promised via email.) If my math is correct, this is over 30% more than the $347 we were originally quoted & over 45% more than we felt we should pay for the window-washing portion of the project based on the number of windows (or by their metric, window "panes") actually washed. After several emails back and forth explaining what we were told and describing our count relating to the work they did, the best they would offer was the $357 plus $80 or $437. This still seemed matterially more than the felt the project should have actually cost (or even the $347 they originally estimated). I decided my time would be better spent not trying to remedy what I perceived as an overcharge & instead invest time in finding a new company to help us with our properties & writing this review so others wouldn't make the same mistake I had. (The explanation Squeaky Clean gave for the discrepancy is that they used the wrong historical record in making the original estimate & they recently changed their pricing. They pretty much ignored my numbers and analysis -- making me feel like I was somehow misrepresenting the work they did.) Coincidentally, we had guy helping us at our house on another project. He explained that he used to work for Squeaky Clean & that their employees get something like 40% of whatever services they sell (wish I would known that before we also added a cash tip). He shared, with some pride, when he worked at Squeaky Clean, he had been very successful at upselling. This made me think that where the discrepancy may have come from is that the person who did the counting of our windows may have double counted some "panes" because some of our windows have decorative metal pieces sandwiched between the solid glass panes. This means a two pane 4x4' sliding casement window becomes "four panes" or $34 each to clean inside and out. This wasn't Pioneer's approach (& I reviewed our billing history to confirm that the pricing was $300 in 2020 and 2021 and $340 in 2023). In short, we like to trust the companies that we do business with to treat us fairly & transparently, including working through misunderstandings collaboratively. We feel this didn't happen with Squeaky Clean & take responsibility for being overly trusting. We hope our experience helps other Yelpers avoid making the same mistakes we did. read more

And let me tell you, Mari, the service tech was AMAZING! I did state that I thought I needed a dryer vent cleaning, but he told me that it definitely didn't need it... Was quoted ~500 for gutters and exterior windows based upon their own notes from the last service they performed. Tech got there and measured it out and told me it was over 700 according to his measurements. Told me he would be there most of the day. After 2.5 hours he is done and I ask where all the leaf litter is and he tells me the gutters weren't that dirty and I should have asked for a maintenance instead of a cleaning and I would have saved ~$175! I called the following day, now over a week ago, to lodge a complaint. They said they would discuss with the tech get back to me.Never even received the courtesy of a call back. Squeaky Clean quoted me $99 to do the gutters on their "special". After the guy was working for 30 minutes rings my doorbell and says it's going to to be $250! That's crazy. Why wouldn't they tell me that before they started? I told them to stop because I felt ripped off and didn't want to contribute to that type of business practice. I paid the $99 special and started this review. Pretty poor way to do business in my opinion, I'd steer clear of this company for sure. read more
