Our condominium homeowners association contracted Square One Plumbing to install new water shut off valves throughout the entire property. The property has 347 units and every unit was required to have this work done (for liability reasons I presume). I'm not sure how many homeowners had the work done by Square One, but I'm sure it was well over a hundred, if not hundreds. We each had to write a check out to "Square One Plumbing." Square One charged $130 per unit to install a new brass water shut off valve. The work had to be done because the original developer of the property, Lane Company, installed cheap plastic valves that had become brittle and unreliable over time. I arranged with the property manager office to allow Square One into my home while I was at work. When I got home from work, the new valve was installed and it didn't look like anybody had been in my place. They did a clean job. The new brass valve looks and feels 10 times better than the old plastic valve. The brass valve is significantly better quality. At first, I thought they were going to remove the old valve and replace it with the new one. Instead, they just left the old one there and added the new one on. The valve was installed on April 6, 2016 and I've had no issues since then. I waited a while to write my review so I could see how the work held up. Since the HOA scheduled Square One to come out on certain days to do bulk installs at once, I think we got a group discount. If I had found and hired a different contractor to do the job on my own just for my unit, I'm sure he would've charged more. read more

On a whim, I purchased a couple vouchers through Amazon Local in early 2012. Once summer happened and life got in the way, I looked out our backyard and realized I had an overgrown disaster on my hands and no time to take care of it. And then I remembered - yay, vouchers! I called Square One and it was super easy to make an appointment for them to come and take care of our yard. The voucher covered mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing: exactly what we needed! Ben and Victor showed up on time, with their own equipment and big smiles. It took less than 30 minutes for them to make our unkempt yard look like a golf course. Seriously AMAZING. Most importantly, they were fun to talk to! At the end of the day, the price paid for the quality of end product and customer service received results in an absolutely amazing deal. More importantly, I accidentally let one voucher expire, primarily because of a significant life event in our family. Square One happily honored the expired voucher and didn't charge me anything extra. I honestly don't know many companies who honor expired vouchers so I'm including this in the review just to show how awesome Square One's customer service really is. They are an absolute dream to work with! Square One truly takes pride in their work and does a terrific job. Bonus: they even made recommendations on how we could mow our lawn to make it healthier - and the tips worked! Keep an eye out for discounts through the website to get their yard service for an uber-reasonable $20/visit. It looks like the vouchers will be available in February 2013. They are easy to contact via email too. I would highly recommend Square One as a regular yard maintenance provider, or for taking care of one of your outdoor chores when things get a little hectic in your life! read more

We were having a big party for 12/12/12, and folks were coming in from out-of-town, and at the last minute I realized that between my work schedule and my wonderful-but-somewhat-unreliable husband, e weren't going to have the apartment clean enough before people arrived. I called Square One and got a quick response, and we agreed on a time for someone to come out for an estimate. I'm a swipe-clean, not a scrub-clean housecleaner, so I was looking for very specific tasks - degreasing all the kitchen cabinets and appliances and surfaces, and scrubbing down the bathroom, and dusting our objet d'art shelves (sounds fancy, but it's basically a lot of pottery). The estimation process was extremely professional and thorough, and a two-person team was able to come and clean the next day. What can I say - the kitchen GLOWED. The team spent *way* more time than I expected, and I honestly had no idea that my cabinets were pure white under all the kitchen grease (there's no ventilation in my apartment). The bathroom looked great too, and the dusting was fantastic. Everything was amazing, and they basically kept me from divorcing my husband over his inability to help get ready for the party (I'm not bitter). The price was *extremely* reasonable. I would highly recommend them to anyone, esp. on the southside, where it can be difficult to find good service providers. read more
