I got a manicure and she did not cut my cuticles properly, the gel polish was lumpy and she did not apply it properly to cover my entire nail. The gel chipped off the very next day and has been lifting and chipping in multiple areas in the 2-3 days following service. Went for a pedicure. The staff was watching TV the whole time. When using the grater to remove dead skin, he cut my toe and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I had to go to the doctor the cut was so deep. They have to have unlicensed nail techs here!!! No way in hell did they learn to do the things they do to your toe nails during pedicures. They are EXTREMELY rough, file ACROSS the ENTIRE nail bed with the coarse side of the emory board and will cut your ass UP with the sharp nail files. The older woman polishes like she's applying acrylic ... just piles on the polish (but she's really nice). Let me start with I have never ever written a bad review. I am extremely disappointed in the service I just received. I asked for a gel polish change and was charged for a gel manicure with less than a 20 minute service. My nails represent the lack of time for a gel manicure when I specifically asked for a gel polish change which in that timeframe would make sense. When I addressed situation I was reprimanded and dismissed immediately. I highly recommend going to any of the other nail locations in the area. I recently moved to the east side and still wanted to continue my nail journey with the Square One Nails company so I decided to visit the location on Mayfield in South Euclid. When I walked in, I was greatly promptly and was sat within 2/3 minutes for my service. I went in for a acrylic fill in. The last one I received didn't last more than 8/9 days. Was not Diem's work. I was greeted and serviced by Mia. She was prompt, able to explain to me why my nail were the way they were and explained what she could do to fix them. She took her time and spoke to me throughout my service just to keep me informed. I even asked for all my nails to be multi-colored and she didn't hesitate to show me her flawless work. Well, I should have heeded the warning signs but it's right down the road and I really wanted to treat myself. I came in for a shellac manicure: first of all the cuticle cutters weren't wrapped in autoclave paper. - um, I think a salon needs to prove it's sanitizing equipment appropriately, that way I know I'm not going to catch Hepatitis C. Then when the guy polished my nails, he missed entire areas, then when I pointed this out - he overcorrected and had the polish in the 'gutter' between my nail and skin. He didn't clean it up, insisted I put my nails under the lights - well now what? How was he going to get that off? So, I went into consumer commando mode and insisted he take if off and have someone else polish my nails. Yep. I did that. Well, didn't that ignite a bunch of chatter in Vietnamese. Whatever. This went on for a few minutes. Seems like you folks expect all black people to be angry/have attitudes so you come at us first even when the situation doesn't call for it!! They weren't busy around 6pm on a Friday night. Which is great, considering that's prime time. It's been one day since I got a full set removed and shellac done to my real nails. So, I can't speak in terms of long-lasting wear. But I am hopeful. If the polish lasts, I'll definitely be back (and I'll edit/add a star to my rating). The convenience of their location was the biggest reason why I visited. I typically get my nails done in Berea, since I work there. However, I live closer to this salon and I see that as a definite advantage. Price is reasonable and comparable to other nail salons. You pay $5 to get a full set removed if you're getting another service done. $10 for removal without additional service. Shellac was $25. read more

I originally went to this salon and loved the way my nails looked. I get acrylic nails and the shape was amazing. After going here for a few months I had problems with the nails falling off. I don't do anything with my hands that should have caused them to keep popping off. I was concerned and I told my technician. She said everything was fine and fixed them. 2 days later another nail fell off. At this point I was fed up and I went to a different salon. At this salon they told me the reason they were falling off is because she wasn't clipping the bottom and water was getting in underneath the nail. Even tho they did cut them correctly they did a bad job with the shape and paint. I went to another salon 2 weeks later and had the same problem (shape and paint). Finally I went to a woman at EB nails and as soon as she took off the polish she saw brown spots underneath my nails. She took of the acrylic set and there was fungus growing under my nails. This is because of water getting underneath due to improper work. 3 different salons did nothing when they saw brown spots. This is horrible. Square one nails does a good job with shape and paint but they obviously don't have good technique. Do not go here! If you feel like your nail technician isn't doing a good job they probably aren't. The seats were full and I was the last chair seated. I was literally the first one done if that gives you any indication on how this pedicure went. Almost every toenail wasn't completely painted (edges missed) or my toe was painted. Not a little paint on my toes, but big globs. I moved to the drying chairs and looked my toes over. Which were terrible. My technician had already moved on to the next client, so I grabbed the bottle of nail polish and fixed my nails. I know I should have complained but they were so busy rushing people around that I just decided to go to CVS across the street and bought a top coat and nail polish remover. This place is terrible. They do sloppy work, are rude and disrespectful while asking for your hard Earned money. This place isn't worth one star. I've been here twice because it's in a convenient location. While I am a reformed nail biter, I get shellac (gel) manicures frequently as that helps keep the biting at bay. Both times my nails have been screwed up. The shellac is so thick it has bubbles and some nails actually look like acrylic has been applied. The second time which was 10/18/15, I went again giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a one off. The girl barely spoke to me, didn't push my cuticles back or anything. Basically I let my fingers soak and she filed them. She didn't even give me a hand massage. She rubbed lotion on my hands as if she was afraid to touch me. Meanwhile, my mother has had equally awful pedicures here as well. She requested stripes on her big toe and that was completely ignored. As well as the woman didn't listen to how my mother wanted her nails shaped. She works at a gym and longer toe nails hurt. And again she was left to soak for 20 minutes and then the rest was rushed. The polish was sloppily applied and when my mother requested another coat of polish, the tech balked at her like my mother asked for a discount. When it came time to pay, instead of the $25+tax, it was $37 because my mother got extra polish. While terrible manicures and pedicures warrant a one star review, the icing on this horrible cake would be the customer service. And by that I mean the absence of it. The owner was talking negatively about other customers sitting in the salon to the woman he was working on. Now to me that is the final straw and I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. I called the BBB on them and they acting like it's nothing they can do about it. I called the state board on them. I reported Sanitation on them. I really believe they violated most of them.
