I believe it was a good work done efficiently in time. So far I have my gel nails for a day but wait till the end of 2-3 weeks to say what will be like. There was no wait when I walked in even so they were busy with costumers. They did what I wanted to get done with colors. read more

I wish I could give a ZERO. The nail technician here did an awful job with my nails. I got a manicure and she did not cut my cuticles properly, the gel polish was lumpy and she did not apply it properly to cover my entire nail. The gel chipped off the very next day and has been lifting and chipping in multiple areas in the 2-3 days following service. My entire manicure took her 20 min or less to do including taking off the previous gel polish. The pictures with this review are from 3 days after the service. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They offer terrible service a d quality for an expensive price. read more

They have to have unlicensed nail techs here!!! No way in hell did they learn to do the things they do to your toe nails during pedicures. They are EXTREMELY rough, file ACROSS the ENTIRE nail bed with the coarse side of the emory board and will cut your ass UP with the sharp nail files. The older woman polishes like she's applying acrylic ... just piles on the polish (but she's really nice). Her pedi's are awful tho :( The men will smile after they draw blood as if you didn't just get cut - OMG! Shiny and Linda are really good. They actually talk to you... especially Linda. She makes you feel like she values your business. She's the reason I return. I know she's in high demand so I usually just take the next available person for my pedicures but never again will I do this. I leave frustrated and disappointed every time! read more

Went for a pedicure. The staff was watching TV the whole time. When using the grater to remove dead skin, he cut my toe and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I had to go to the doctor the cut was so deep. Then he charged full price for the manicure. Service has deteriorated over the years. I'm never going back. read more

Got my mom a service here for Mother's Day. I don't even know if you could call it a service from the look of her nails after! She also said that they charged her for more than what she asked for. This place is a scam and my child could paint better nails then these technicians. Don't waste your time as the receptionist is manipulative and all she cares about is scamming you! read more

Let me start with I have never ever written a bad review. I am extremely disappointed in the service I just received. I asked for a gel polish change and was charged for a gel manicure with less than a 20 minute service. My nails represent the lack of time for a gel manicure when I specifically asked for a gel polish change which in that timeframe would make sense. When I addressed situation I was reprimanded and dismissed immediately. I highly recommend going to any of the other nail locations in the area. Never again will my time be wasted for an overcharge and lack of what an actual gel manicure service is. I am beyond disappointed and will recommend this place to no one. read more

I've been going to Square One Nails on Cedar since 2015. Diem has been my nail tech for 6+ years. I recently moved to the east side and still wanted to continue my nail journey with the Square One Nails company so I decided to visit the location on Mayfield in South Euclid. When I walked in, I was greatly promptly and was sat within 2/3 minutes for my service. I went in for a acrylic fill in. The last one I received didn't last more than 8/9 days. Was not Diem's work. I was greeted and serviced by Mia. She was prompt, able to explain to me why my nail were the way they were and explained what she could do to fix them. She took her time and spoke to me throughout my service just to keep me informed. I even asked for all my nails to be multi-colored and she didn't hesitate to show me her flawless work. I greatly appreciate that Mia! My nails 5 stars!!!! I love them!! Definitely will be back to see Mia, she's amazing, go see her. read more

I was hesitant to try this place out due to the negative reviews, but I'm happy I gave it a shot. I went in for a gel pedicure, and it turned out great! The nail technician was very sweet, and she did a beautiful job on my nails. I will definitely come back in the future. read more

Honestly I get my nails done here regularly and I don't understand the hate on yelp. I'm from a big city originally and after moving to Cleveland it was hard to find a good nail salon! I've been to plenty of duds. For me, I'm busy and like a quick professional polish for my work weeks. With square one I'm always in and out even when I don't have appointments. The girls are nice and regulars friendly. It's CLEAN compared to a lot of other salons and I always come out with a good polish. Additionally, they always ask me if Im happy with the color / polish before finishing and letting me leave... so, Idk why some people are acting like they have poor service. Going here is always a fast but pleasant experience. Cheap too read more

Well, I should have heeded the warning signs but it's right down the road and I really wanted to treat myself. I came in for a shellac manicure: first of all the cuticle cutters weren't wrapped in autoclave paper. - um, I think a salon needs to prove it's sanitizing equipment appropriately, that way I know I'm not going to catch Hepatitis C. Then when the guy polished my nails, he missed entire areas, then when I pointed this out - he overcorrected and had the polish in the 'gutter' between my nail and skin. He didn't clean it up, insisted I put my nails under the lights - well now what? How was he going to get that off? So, I went into consumer commando mode and insisted he take if off and have someone else polish my nails. Yep. I did that. Well, didn't that ignite a bunch of chatter in Vietnamese. Whatever. Just fix my freaking nails. Now they are polished, I payed 35$ for what cost 25$ in Houston and won't be going back. Just changed it 2 one star. Had a hard time falling asleep last night because when the guy who screwed up the polish took it off with the drill bit - HE TOOK SOME OF MY SKIN WITH IT!!!! Damn! Yes. The red skin to the right of my nails? That is WHERE THE SKIN IS MISSING!!! Damn bro - why you gotta do me like that. read more

Horrible. Don't waste your time, and more importantly your money. The gentleman that did my nails had absolutely no idea how to do a simple manicure. If I could give this place a minus 1 I would. Very unprofessional. The tech messed up on one of my nails. I pointed it out *in a very calm tone** she proceeded to have an attitude. This went on for a few minutes. Seems like you folks expect all black people to be angry/have attitudes so you come at us first even when the situation doesn't call for it!! If a customer points out something about your work you should listen, not argue. The customer is the one paying for the service. I should have gone to Lush in beachwood. This establishment has absolutely no customer service skills at all. The fact that as a professional I have to take time out of my busy day to leave a review speaks to how poorly you treat people. Thumbs down to this atrocious place. read more

UPDATE: the nail I paid them (even though it was there fault) to fix fit fell off. You can see in the photos how destroyed my natural nail is from the first debauchery they got me with. WARNING: please dont waste your money on this trash quality, trash service trash. The salon is a ripoff. They do poor quality work but charge 10-20% more than other salons Previous Review I should have checked out the reviews first. And if I could give ZERO stars or better yet negative stars I would. I give this place NEGATIVE 2 stars. Here's why: I went in for a full set and a pedicure. the pedicure was a terribly waste of money. actually the entire experience was. She lightly scrubbed my calluses for less than a minute. my leg and foot rub felt like a baby was doing it. I might have complained at the time but I had other things to do that day. as for my full set, they had that fake bump and were way too thick. I asked her to thin them out but gave up when she clearly didn't have the skills to be working with the public yet. The worst part is that within 2 days they started lifting and any little thing I did would get grime in between my nail and the acrylic nail. So you'd think I'd be smart and just never go there again. But nay, nay. I was thinking it had only been a week and 3 days since I had them done and they would fix them at a discount. But the reverse happened. First of all she had to take off the nails that had lifted. The nails that THEY messed up. They charged ME an extra 4$ per nail. These 3 nails were completely ripped and nearly non existent. The owner said it wasn't her problem and that I was not only not getting any sort of restitution but that I had to pay EXTRA for their poor work. Needless to say I will never return read more

They weren't busy around 6pm on a Friday night. Which is great, considering that's prime time. It's been one day since I got a full set removed and shellac done to my real nails. So, I can't speak in terms of long-lasting wear. But I am hopeful. If the polish lasts, I'll definitely be back (and I'll edit/add a star to my rating). The convenience of their location was the biggest reason why I visited. I typically get my nails done in Berea, since I work there. However, I live closer to this salon and I see that as a definite advantage. Price is reasonable and comparable to other nail salons. You pay $5 to get a full set removed if you're getting another service done. $10 for removal without additional service. Shellac was $25. read more

I originally went to this salon and loved the way my nails looked. I get acrylic nails and the shape was amazing. After going here for a few months I had problems with the nails falling off. I don't do anything with my hands that should have caused them to keep popping off. I was concerned and I told my technician. She said everything was fine and fixed them. 2 days later another nail fell off. At this point I was fed up and I went to a different salon. At this salon they told me the reason they were falling off is because she wasn't clipping the bottom and water was getting in underneath the nail. Even tho they did cut them correctly they did a bad job with the shape and paint. I went to another salon 2 weeks later and had the same problem (shape and paint). Finally I went to a woman at EB nails and as soon as she took off the polish she saw brown spots underneath my nails. She took of the acrylic set and there was fungus growing under my nails. This is because of water getting underneath due to improper work. 3 different salons did nothing when they saw brown spots. This is horrible. Square one nails does a good job with shape and paint but they obviously don't have good technique. Do not go here! If you feel like your nail technician isn't doing a good job they probably aren't. Fungus is not ok! If you have brown spots under your nails you need to fix this immediately! read more

Every time I've come here I've had a great experience. It's bright and clean. Most disrespectful and unprofessional. Very rude and they love it and quite frankly don't think they care. There are a thousand nail salons in the area. I suggest you ALL find somewhere else to go. I will never spend my hard earned money in their salon EVER again. They literally don't deserve to be in business. Not a service industry business. Not to mention they have no problem being snarky and unfriendly to children simply interested in what is in their shop. Never will I ever recommend or come to this salon again!! Went in on my day off for a pedicure and shellac polish. I went in around 2:30 with no appointment and was taken right away. Let me start off saying that I've never written a bad review for any company before. This place sucks. I went to get a pedicure. The nail polish selection isn't great and most bottles are really low and crusty. I found a pink that seemed reasonable and was seated promptly at a chair which was nice. The seats were full and I was the last chair seated. I was literally the first one done if that gives you any indication on how this pedicure went. Almost every toenail wasn't completely painted (edges missed) or my toe was painted. Not a little paint on my toes, but big globs. I moved to the drying chairs and looked my toes over. Which were terrible. My technician had already moved on to the next client, so I grabbed the bottle of nail polish and fixed my nails. I know I should have complained but they were so busy rushing people around that I just decided to go to CVS across the street and bought a top coat and nail polish remover. Terrible, terrible, terrible! I will not be a returning customer. read more

I decided to treat myself. I was taken care of right away and the gentleman that did my pedicure was polite and very good at his job. Also, I had my eyebrows done. She rushed because she had an appointment coming in. Because if that, my nails look bad. I paid a lot of money for the services I received and I'm not happy with the end results of my nails. Time to find new nail salon. First getting so expensive, I get the same thing every time I go but the price is always different. But this time 70.00 for a full set of short terrible shaped nails and she filed the hell out of my skin and unable to fix the issue just made it worst. I called to discuss corrections but the owner has a terrible attitude when comes to correct any issues, even when she can see the mistakes. They just lost a customer. I received the quickest and sloppiest manicure of my life. She also put lotion on my engagement ring! That was during the quick and sloppy "hand and arm massage" that I should've passed on. Also, prices aren't posted on the wall which I just don't trust. I will never go here again. read more

This place is terrible. They do sloppy work, are rude and disrespectful while asking for your hard Earned money. This place isn't worth one star. I've been here twice because it's in a convenient location. While I am a reformed nail biter, I get shellac (gel) manicures frequently as that helps keep the biting at bay. Both times my nails have been screwed up. The shellac is so thick it has bubbles and some nails actually look like acrylic has been applied. The second time which was 10/18/15, I went again giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a one off. The girl barely spoke to me, didn't push my cuticles back or anything. Basically I let my fingers soak and she filed them. She didn't even give me a hand massage. She rubbed lotion on my hands as if she was afraid to touch me. Meanwhile, my mother has had equally awful pedicures here as well. She requested stripes on her big toe and that was completely ignored. As well as the woman didn't listen to how my mother wanted her nails shaped. She works at a gym and longer toe nails hurt. And again she was left to soak for 20 minutes and then the rest was rushed. The polish was sloppily applied and when my mother requested another coat of polish, the tech balked at her like my mother asked for a discount. When it came time to pay, instead of the $25+tax, it was $37 because my mother got extra polish. While terrible manicures and pedicures warrant a one star review, the icing on this horrible cake would be the customer service. And by that I mean the absence of it. The owner was talking negatively about other customers sitting in the salon to the woman he was working on. Now to me that is the final straw and I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. No one should have to take poor and sloppy work coupled with staff talking trash about you to other people while paying upwards of $30 for a manicure. read more

Horrible customer treatment. They are not friendly or professional. They do not greet you at the door. If you stand there waiting for service, they may even just ignore you or rudely demand you to go wash your hands. I've never been anywhere that had this low level of customer service. They are extremely slow. The staff disappear mid-way through working on your manicure or pedicure without any explanation. It appears that the owner and her "side-kick" have a horrible attitude problem and are definitely not there for their customers; it's as if as a customer you ought to be kissing THEIR ass! On to the actual manicure/ pedicure- the gel ALWAYS chips in a day or 2, a regular polish looks messed up in hours. read more

Stopped in for a spur-of-the-moment pedicure on a weekday evening. I'll sum my review up by saying that this salon was good, but not great. When I walked in, there was quite the wait and they did not seem to be taking people back in the order that they arrived. It's possible that people in front of me had reservations, though that did not seem to be the case. My pedicurist was curt and quick, though she did do a nice job. I could have used a more leisurely experience. read more

If I could give this business-0 rating I would. I come to this place faithfully every two weeks. Today I decided to go get a fill and toe polish change. The nail tech that was doing my nails was filing so hard I yelled. He said sorry and continued to file, harder. I continuously had to ask him to stop filing so hard. Now I have cuts on 3 of my fingers. But wait, there's more! As he bent down to polish my toe nails, a couple of the other nail techs were horse playing and sprayed him with a bottle of alcohol. The alcohol got on my purse. The managers did not offer to compensate me, they just simply said sorry. I tried wiping the stain off of my purse. I am very upset and won't be back. read more
