I give my highest recommendation to Square One Autotech! Hong and Eddie were amazing in helping get my Honda Odyssey back on the road, and they are the proverbial diamond in the rough of shady shops out there! On a Sunday, I was driving from Sacramento back to the Bay Area when my car overheated. I randomly looked for the closest shop and a bunch of them in the area popped up on the map. I chose Square One and parked my car in the lot, prepared to leave them a voice message and a key. To my surprise, Hong and some friends were in the shop, working on their cars, and he was kind enough to take my information, do a quick scan of the car, and promised to get back to me on Tuesday. On Monday, Eddie called and said Hong had let him know about my car and that he would come in and take a look. Eddie was very detailed in his evaluation and inspection. He sent pictures and videos of things that weren't done properly by previous mechanics and walked me through the options about what things needed to be done now, what could wait, and what he would do based on what my short/medium/long term plans/hopes for the car.  I found Eddie very professional, responsive, and clear. He and his nephew spent extra time doing a thorough cleaning of the car, polishing up headlights and taking possible valuables out of the car when it had to be left in the lot overnight.  He kept the replacement parts in a box in case I wanted to go back to the previous shop.  I cannot express my appreciation for the above and beyond service provided and wholeheartedly recommend Square One Autotech. I brought my A90 GR Supra in for a transmission service/flush, and the team was transparent from start to finish. A Toyota dealer told me the pan used RTV, but when we dropped it there was actually a gasket. It was confusing, but instead of guessing, they paused, did the research, and fixed it the right way. They're also aftermarket-friendly. Since BMW uses a lot of plastic on these cars, I supplied a PPE Power aluminum transmission pan to replace the OEM plastic pan/filter for better cooling and protection. No attitude and no upsell--just "that makes sense" and a clean install. Labor isn't the cheapest, but it's still better value than the dealership because they communicate, torque to spec, and don't rush "quick jobs." They'll take on challenging work, but only after doing their homework so there aren't surprises. How I found them: I first stopped by for a single quart of AMSOIL 5W-30 (you can only get it through independent dealers). Leo, the supervisor, was friendly even though I was just buying one bottle, and he gave me a quick tour--three NSXs, a Turbo S getting a GT2 kit molded, big-turbo builds, widebodies. That visit sold me on the shop. I was skeptical at first because it's a small shop in the middle of nowhere, but they care about the details--the transparency, the nitty-gritty, the torque specs. Real JDM-culture vibes and quality over speed. Heads-up for lowered cars: there's a dip at the driveway before the bays. I'm on air and still scraped once, so go slow and angle in. Square one auto tech is the place for any car needs guys!! My friends and I were going home to San Jose when we got an engine oil low notification. Upon googling, we realized this was something we need to get looked at ASAP and couldn't make it back to San Jose safely without fixing the problem. Square One Autotech was the ONLY place that was open at ~ 5:00pm on a Saturday. We called, they were up front with the costs right off the bat which I appreciate. They told us to stop by and see what we could do. They found the problem within 15-20 mins. Took another 30-40 mins to fix the problem. Super efficient and super friendly. Charged us only the amount of time used for the diagnostic, labor costs, and the parts replaced. I didn't get the mechanics names but they were both soooooo friendly and nice. read more

I was in a huge pinch, from out of town just passing through and had my whole family with me, when my car started to misfire. I pulled in late Saturday afternoon and Eddie immediately welcomed me. He was clearly super knowledgeable and was able to identify the issue quickly. After the wrong part was delivered by the parts store, Eddie literally drove himself, picked up the right part and swapped it out. And got the car up and running. Additionally, Eddie recommended certain maintenance for the car when I got back home so the issue did not repeat itself. Seriously going above and beyond! Super grateful! My service was to remove my engine, take my engine next door for a new build repair, receive the engine upon repair and then get my car started. Square One Aurorech failed miserably. I brought my vehicle there for one thing and acquired many other problems I did nor have. 1. Suddenly a brand new alternator, installed, seated and fitted perfectly, does not fit. 2. After my engine was installed, suddenly my stage 2 relatively new clutch is not linked to my clutch pedal. Hopefully, it is at least still installed. 3. The mechanic, Chris, made no effort to make things good and correct. The engine builder/machinist and Chris' friend, is right next door, in the next garage, in the next bay. They share a wall. 4. I left there $8,000.00 poorer with a non working car. Chris and his next door buddy both had attitudes as if I was wrong. So, be very aware of this shop and the next door shop, A/M Performance, Neal Ferguson. I will be writing a review on Neal as well. read more

Found my go to shop! The way they take care of my car is like it was there own. Torque down every bolt to spec and marked it. Had a bolt back out due to solid engine mounts. Notice right away because it was marked. If it wasn't would have been redoing every bolt trying to find the lose one. Saved time and hard to find shops that do this as a standard. There's not enough I can say about these guys, took my 04 Dodge Ram in because I've had a heck of a time trying to convert the old halogen lighting to HID. Called over 50 shops and no body would touch it until I called square one. Long story short I had to bring it in a few times as I didn't have the correct wiring/parts the first couple times, for the first and second go arounds they didn't charge me a cent since they weren't able to get them to work, (which was completely not their fault but the company that provided the light was) and the final time they charged me an extremely cheap price which I honestly felt bad paying for since they spent almost the whole day on it. Lights work great now and the job was done very professionally, guys were awesome to work with and were very understanding of my problems. Even though they do seem to be more of a JDM shop, they still took care of my good ol RAM.
