If I could give a 0/5, I would. If you care about saving your money, your time, and want to avoid any potential sleaziness, read this and avoid this location at all costs. I took my car to this Midas on Friday, 6/12/2026, for maintenance, including my rear brakes and calipers, costing around $1335. The next day, 6/13/2026, I lost total braking power on the road and nearly rear-ended someone. I had to panic-brake in neutral to avoid a horrific accident. When I parked, I discovered the rear left brake caliper was completely dangling by the brake line. The mechanic straight up failed to secure the bolts (From here on out with my life, I will never understand how this could even be a thing). I had to tow my car back to the shop and was left stranded without a vehicle all weekend because they were closed. On Monday, 6/15/2026, I called the shop at 8:00 AM to demand a full refund for severe negligence that easily could have killed me or someone else. They re-secured the caliper, but flatly refused a refund because "nothing else was damaged." Instead, they insultingly offered a free oil change or 20% off my next visit as an apology for nearly causing a catastrophic wreck. I called Midas Corporate the same day. While the agent was pleasant, corporate just kicked the report right back to the franchise owner. The owner called me later that day. It was completely unproductive. He offered to cover my Lyft rides I used through the weekend and that day, and offered pay for a inspection at a competitor like Firestone, but drew a hard line against a refund because they "fixed the problem." (After the fact mind you) I was direct and firm about my expectations so I understand how the owner can grow frustrated with myself. What leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth though is that the owner was more frustrated with myself than he was with the fact that his own shop committed an act of gross negligence that, at a minimum, took up a lot of my time and money, and at the worst, put lives on the line. This is a business where you quickly learn the difference between "can't" refund and "won't" refund. They would rather penny-pinch, play white-collar games, and offer insulting low-ball discounts than take accountability for a dangerous mistake. I didn't know Midas was on hard times as well. I'm taking my loss and moving on, so I do not speak against the owner or Midas itself, I just speak to a potential customer of this business: do not go here. Mechanics made me moody...but not my local Midas shop. They have greats jokes and puns on the outdoor sign which gets you in a great mood. More importantly, they are honest! That's a hard quality to find in a car repair shop these days. They provide detailed service with a great price but they don't gouge you. Expect a full story about what is happening with your vehicle and an honest evaluation of something is urgent or if you have time to plan and budget for it. This is the third time we've come here for different car issues and have always gotten good service. We took it in this time for a fast blinking right blinker. We checked for an out bulb and both front and back bulbs seemed to be lit. We took it in about a month ago for the same issues and soon as they fiddled with it and the blinker started working properly again. It has been on the Fritze for the past week or so we brought it back in. We assumed that it was a wiring issue this time as the bulbs weren't out and that is the most common reason for a fast blinking blinker. We had an appointment on Friday at 8am. We waited for a call to hear the diagnosis. By Noon we didn't get one so we called back and they said they were really busy and looking at it now. They called us back shortly after and said it was a defective bulb. The connection was bad. Thankfully it wasn't a wiring issue. The amount was minimal and we went immediately and picked it up. Good thing I had previously I changed my noon appointment so we were in no rush to pick it up. I highly recommend Midas. They are convenient as they are right off of the freeway and they are honest, no overcharging. They are friendly and very professional. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Six months ago I paid over $1,000 to replace all four tires. Tires should last at least 2-3 years (or more), so I expected them to still be in good condition. Recently, I took my car to the dealership for a recall, and they told me I already needed new tires again -- only six months later. They said my back tires were worn down badly and acted shocked when I told them they were just replaced. They kept questioning me like I was lying, saying "Are you sure you changed them? That shouldn't happen that fast." My husband went back to speak with them, and the customer service was extremely rude and unprofessional. The way they communicated was disrespectful and unacceptable, especially considering how much money we already spent. Now we're being forced to pay another $500+ for two more tires, which makes absolutely no sense. I barely drive this car -- only to work about four times a week, and it's not even a long distance. I am very upset and disappointed with this entire experience. I will never go back, and I do not recommend anyone take their business here. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE While fixing one part of my car they damaged another part. When I took my car in to get an oil change they noticed that they damaged the part and said to bring it back to repair it for free. They called me to pick it up after saying the part they damaged was fixed. But when I went to leave the parking lot, it was obvious they had left the steering wheel out of alignment with the front wheels, so the vehicle pulled heavily to the left and the Vehicle Stability Control light came on. I drove it back immediately and the manager said it would be fixed by the end of the day. I arrived 30 minutes before they were supposed to close and they said they would need to keep it overnight so the wheels could be aligned. No one called or texted me to notify me they were keeping it overnight. So I didn't know until I arrived to pick it up. So they kept it overnight to fix a problem they caused while fixing a part that they damaged. When I went to pick up the car the next day no one even apologized. They don't seem to be thorough because if they had test drove the car they would have immediately noticed the steering was unsafe. Summary: 1 - They damaged one part of the car while fixing another part 2 - They fixed the part they damaged and caused the steering to be unsafe 3 - After the manager said it would be fixed before the end of the day they instead kept my car overnight to fix the problem they caused while fixing another part they damaged. 4 - I had to take time off work and get 5 rides to drop off and pickup the car because of the part they damaged and the unsafe steering situation. read more

Beware that this place is very unprofessional and rude towards their customers! I would suggested taking your vehicle anywhere but here. First, I took my vehicle in to have the brakes inspected without an appointment. When I first walked no one inside the service center and one of the guys told the lady, who was later identified as Jennifer that someone was in the service center. I stood waiting for another 3-4 minutes while she finished her conversation with the other employeewho was having lunch. No big deal, but the issues later is what compound this. Although I didn't have an appointmentbut Jennifer said it was lunch time for the techs and said she would have my vehicle serviced after that. I suggested that I could come back tomorrow and she said she had slot open today and would be able to service the vehicle. So, I left my vehicle and after not hearing from the shop for 4 hours, I called to check on the status. Jennifer answered the phone and immediately placed me on hold. After 12 minutes of being on a hold, I hung up and called back and Jennifer answered. I explained to her that I felt it was rude to have me on hold for 12 minutes without even checking in, and that I wanted to check on the status of my vehicle. She then asked me for lugnut key, and I stated that they had my vehicle for 4 hours and were just now asking for the logout key and that was unacceptable to me, and I would picking up my vehicle. Jennifer then began to raise her vocie and talk over me and hung up the phone. I immediately went to the shop and Jennifer denied hanging up and she was still rude and when I asked for the manager's name and contact information she said I could call the store and ask for him, but still did not tell me his name. I told her that she had poor customer service and I wanted to inform the manager about the level of service recieved and I again asked for the manager name, and she said Jarred, and told me I could leave. I said I would not until I spoke with a manager and KD, one of the mechanics, stood up and with a voice and posture in an attempt to intimidate me, said "you are fina get up out of here." To avoid further conflict I left as these people do not have any idea of what true customer service is about and lack professionalism. AWFUL customer service. UPDATE: My husband did speak to them over the phone and let them know before I came that I would be the one picking up my car. So this guy was going out of his way to be difficult, argumentative, and purposely provide terrible customer service. I fully understand that my partners name was the one left and they needed his release for me to pick it up. Issue being: through the multiple phone conversations they had, at no time did they tell him they would need that and it created a significant delay as he is not readily available by phone when he's at work and I went to pick up my vehicle. Furthermore, the guy working behind the counter was yelling across the lobby that it wasn't his fault, it was the warranty company, it was my husbands for not calling back, it's an automotive repair policy, it was still my husband- never acknowledged that he could have left that on a message. When I asked why he was yelling he insisting it was my husbands fault. I did engage and say that it was a lack of communication on their end. Additionally my car was parked so close to a concrete wall that my door couldn't even open to the first, like, notch of open. There was no way to get a car seat into and I had to squeeze in sideways to get myself in my car. We were outsourced from our regular shop bc of a transmission issue but will NOT return. read more

I went to the Midas in West Sacramento thinking I needed a pulley/serpentine belt changed, because I started was noticing a funny noise when I would start my car. Plus, just recently another mechanic in WS, called Affordable Car Repair, told me that I needed my belt changed. BTW, don't go to Affordable Car Repair, they will rip you off!!!!! They examined my car, and told me that they noticed my belt was recently changed (they were right, the belt was changed over a year ago at another mechanic shop when I put in a new A/C) and there was no reason to change it again. I was shocked. They were honest. First time ever a mechanic shop was honest!!!!!. They could have changed the belt and taken my money... but they didn't . Kurt the new owner, was very up front. He advised me to stop pouring money into my 23 year old Saturn with over 200K miles, and purchase another car. They are definitely my go to Mechanic Shop from now on. I scheduled an appointment here for an oil and filter change at 11:00 AM. The customer service and quality of work were outstanding. My car was done a little later than originally planned and I received a discount for the delay which I really appreciated! In addition to the oil change they also performed an inspection and found that the tread on my rear tires was low, but there was no pushy salesperson waiting for me when I picked up my car. It did take a while but they were so nice and great with communication and gave me a free oil change for the long wait. DO NOT COME HERE! This auto shop tried to scam me and overcharge me by $1000 for fake work and inflated parts costs. In March 2023, my check engine light came on so I brought it in. After running diagnostics they told me it would cost $1,400 to replace the Mass Airflow Sensor, which I agreed to. I felt uncomfortable about the price so I called back to confirm the price and get a breakdown of the exact costs. At this point, they told me "the cheapest sensor they could find was $600" and "they had to do a bunch of calibrations after installing the sensor". I then called Toyota in Davis and asked them to provide me a quote for the work and they told me the sensor would only cost $165 and that no calibrations were needed. Their total estimate was $430 for parts and labor. I immediately called Midas and told them I would not pay for the work and that they should stop working on my vehicle. They told me that the person that gave me the quote was "on lunch" and they would call me back shortly. 2 hours later they called and told me that the work was done on my truck and apologized for the "error in the estimate" but that the actual cost would only be $422. Long story short, DO NOT get your vehicle worked on here but if you must be sure to get a second quote at another auto shop before agreeing to anything. read more

I made an appointment on December 2nd to have my Audi looked at because I had a coolant leak. I changed the coolant flange and radiator hose but the car still leaked, so I asked for help from the mechanics to get back on the road. 5 days later I get a call that it is my faulty water pump that is causing the leak, and that repair was $1,500 to fix. I laughed, and said there is no way I would pay that, so he said "okay, I can do to for just under $1,000" and I said that's fine, keep me posted. I call back the next day for an update, and was informed that a belt was broken by a mechanic during repair, and it would take more time. Bummer. 6 days went by and the car is still not fixed I got a call the following week that my vehicle was ready. I go to pick it up, water pump is in, and the leak is gone. Then, the mechanic tells me that the check engine light is now on. It wasn't on when I dropped it off, but it is now. Awesome Overcharged for service, 10 days for a repair, broken belt, and now the check engine light is on. Don't trust the Midas touch read more

Please be careful with this Midas location I just had a really bad experience with them. My AC stopped blowing cold air so I scheduled a service appointment at this location. I received a call from the manager saying there was an inspection fee 59 USD for this type of service and I confirmed that that was ok with me. I took the car to their location on Jun 18th 2021, they kept the car for one full day and they contacted me next day telling me that the AC was not blowing air at all. I explain to them that when I left the car the air was blowing perfectly fine and that it was not possible that now it was not working. The manager told me that their mechanics gave him that information and that they will need 159.99 to proceed with further investigation/fix but that this cost could be pro-rated for the final repairs (this made me really suspicious). After we hang up I was about to go to the shop when he called me again and told me that he made a mistake and that actually the air was blowing but the AC Blend door actuator was the real problem and that only one of the vents was blowing a little bit of cold air so that they needed the 159.99 USD to make a modification to the actuator so it would blow only cold air in both sides and that this could be a workaround while they ordered a new one to make the final replacements. He told me that the 159.99USD were gonna be paid in advance to perform this "Fix" and that later on when they receive the piece and replace it that money would be taken out of the final bill. This made more sense so I agree with this. The fix was ready by the end of the day (Jun 19 2021) and I picked up the car when they were about to close. When I started the car and started driving no cold air was blowing at all out of the vents. I arrived home and called them but they were closed so nobody picked up the phone. Next morning I called them and the manager answered, I told him that the fix didn't work. He just said that he will need to order the replacement then and that he was going to contact me when they get it. I asked about the 159.99 dollars that he charged me for nothing and he said not to worry that that amount would be taken into consideration for the final repair. Yesterday, after not hearing back from them for more than a month, I took the car for an oil change to the agency where I bough it, I told them about the air conditioner and the FREE diagnosis on their side was that the condenser and compressor were faulty. Nothing really to do with the blend door actuator that MIDAS told me was the problem. I decided to repair my car with my agency since I really don't trust MIDAS anymore. I already send a customer complain on the website so I'm expecting to be contacted by someone on their side. read more

Do not go here if you value your safety, and the safety of others. On 3 separate occasions, to 2 different people, they somehow did not remember to tighten the lug nuts on the tires. 3 times. One of the instances resulted in a tire coming loose on the freeway, leaving the driver stranded. At night. His truck needed to be towed and brought back to deal with an issue that shouldn't have occurred in the first place. Did Midas cover or discount the price of services rendered for repairing the damage they caused? Nope. Full price. Did Midas accept responsibility and apologize? Nope.
