A solid four star restaurant to grab a great meal without feeling guilty about spending too much…read more We met up with some friends in Bath & they suggested Loch Fyne for early dinner. If you get seated by 7 pm you can get 3 courses for £13.95 or 2 courses for £11.95. You get a set menu to choose from and there were quite a few options so it was well worth it. I opted for the 3-course and had the Butternut Squash Soup with crème fraiche and granary bread, Beetroot Risotto with goat's cheese and horseradish butter and the Passion Fruit And Vanilla Cheesecake to polish it all off. You can also choose a complimentary side and I got the Twice-Cooked British Potato Chips! *smile* The presentation of the food was perfect -- five stars for that. Now onto the taste -- my soup was excellent - mildly tempered, delicate and still flavorful. I wasn't too impressed with the risotto - not sure beet lends it self naturally to a risotto like asparagus does. What it lacked in flavor, it made up for in butter & that was the overwhelming taste I was left it. However it was the only vegetarian option for the mains on the set menu and in the end with the soup and chips on the side I was more than full. I loved my desert - the tangy passion fruit sorbet was very refreshing. The husband had the Seasonal Whole Fish which was the Mackerel served broiled and commented that even though it was a skinny fish with not much flesh on it, it was really fresh and seasoned well. He got the Seasonal Mixed Vegetables as the side. Our friends enjoyed their Scottish Rope-Grown Mussels and Clam Linguine. Another stand out item on the set menu which some from the group sampled was the Cullen Skink -- smoked haddock chowder with granary bread. The husband loved it and said it was rich, creamy and perfect for a cold evening. All in all, we had a great time here. Loch Fyne is a chain in the UK, but still has an air of intimacy to it. The decor of this newly renovated location was airy and the tables were well spaced out. The staff was warm and the service really efficient. Highly recommend this location if you're in the vicinity and are looking for a hearty meal.

As we were making our way there leisurely, we came across Nonna's and the "2 meals for £9.95" appealed to us since we were on a budget so we went here instead. We were very happy with this decision. There weren't many people eating so we appreciated the quietness and the attentive service from the wait staff. They were very welcoming, pleasant and timely. My boyfriend and I both ordered a calamari as our app. He in particular was happy to have his own serving of calamari instead of sharing! I guess I don't blame him, I was happy as well :) The calamari was lightly breaded. The dip was very refreshing and paired well with the calamari. For his entree, he ordered the margherita. Our first thought was how big the pizza was! Since it was lunch and we were ordering from a special menu for this deal, we automatically assumed the portion would be small. But it wasn't at all! I didn't try the pizza but it looked very delicious. I ordered the cannelloni with ricotta and spinach instead. It came with three cannellonis. I personally felt there could've been a bit more stuffing, but the cheese and white sauce over top made up for it. It was a delicious meal and I would totally recommend it. It's not full of tourists and on the way to The Circle so after your meal, checking out the Circle would be a nice walk to shred the calories!

It was a…read moreSunday, and most things in Bath are closed, so we thought we super lucked out that this place is open. Unfortunately, it was terrible luck. Maybe it was me and my love for seafood, as the food we ordered is terribly fishy tasting. We started with a bruschetta with octopus (polpo) and all you can smell is fish when the dish arrived - and of course it's all you can taste. For dinner, I got the seafood linguine in tomato and white wine sauce and my boyfriend got the beef ravioli. The good thing is that the linguini was not short of seafood, with shrimps, prawns, mussels, calamari, and octopus. The terrible part is that it all tasted like old fish. I tried my bf's ravioli and i thought it was pretty good, but he complained about it the entire time, saying it was not that good - and really, anything is probably pretty good compared to my fishy linguine. The service was odd too. We felt rushed despite there was no one in the restaurant, and the server kept trying to get us to order more food and didn't like the fact we didn't order wine (had to drive) or dessert (the starter and mains were too terrible for us to want to eat whatever else they had to offer). The bill was reasonable i suppose, at around 10-15 quid a dish. I wish this wasn't where i ate for the day of my bday.

DISTASTEFUL LYING STAFF Myself and my partner went to bath…read morethis weekend for our anniversary, we decided to go into this bar for a few drinks and a light lunch, all was well until we got accused of giving and taking drugs from a group of girls (who they couldn't control) the maitre'd had a terrible attitude towards the whole situation. She come over to our table, saying "we are going to have to give you your bill and you have to leave" I asked what for and she replied because you are doing drugs at the table. She then followed it up by saying " I see it. the table opposite see it and the whole restaurant see it" I was gob smacked and said what a false statement and complete lie she's just made up! All I was doing was being polite and amicable to the drunk girl, trying to get her away from me and my partner.(which the table opposite clapped and said "fair play guys you handled that drunk girl better then we would have") When I challenged the matrie'd she said she will get the CCTV to prove this is what happened. I waited for another 10 minutes and no one come to the table so I called the manager. I spoke to the manager and said I've just been accused of selling and taking drugs from this girl, please get the CCTV because maitre'd said she will get it to prove we had done such a thing! Conveniently the CCTV wasn't actually working in the area we was sitting in. By now my partner was upset and and panicking, I asked them to call the police to search me if this was what I was being accused of and nothing. The manager didn't have anything to say all he replied with was, I don't think that's what's happened I don't think you gave them anything I think they gave you something. Like this made it any better. The manager was as spineless as his maitre'd the whole company needs to go onto a customer training course and they need to think before they start accusing people of doing crimes on their premises. Absolutely disgusted it runined what was supposed to be a great weekend away. And I will be taking this further then just leaving a review.
