Square Cow came highly recommended by a good friend of ours, and after having many less than happy moves with a different moving company, we decided to try them. PLEASE NOTE: I know this review is long, because I wanted to be accurate. SHORT REVIEW: They messed up the first move somewhat, but made up for it with the second move completely, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a quality moving company. COMPLETE REVIEW: We had two moves with Square Cow; one on 9/26/14 and a second on 9/29/14. The rate we received was $135 per hour, and the clock starts when they leave their office. My mother moved in with my husband & I to a new house on 9/26/14. The movers arrived at 8:45am, and were all polite, helpful and did a great job getting her belongings carefully but quickly down the stairs and into the truck. I really like that they ask you to take a look around and make sure that they didn't miss anything. Our previous movers did not, and left quite a bit behind that we had to go back for later. They were done getting everything into the truck by 11:30. About 45 minutes after we got to the house (a 30-minute drive), one of the Square Cow lead crew members from a nearby move going on simultaneously to ours, came over to the house and told our crew that when they were finished there, they would have to come and help with a that move. Once that happened, our three movers slowed down to about half the speed they had been moving before, and it ended up taking a total of seven hours to get the move completed. Needless to say, my mother was very unhappy with the amount of time the move took, and the total cost of $978. Even factoring in drive time, her apartment was only 1100 sq ft and took up about half of the moving truck, and should not have taken that long. I have to say that I don't blame our moving crew for being unhappy about having to help with another move, but it should never have affected our moving experience or our total cost. Our crew was working efficiently and carefully up until the other lead crew member came over. If that had not happened, I believe our move would have been completed in 5 to 5 1/2 hours instead of the 7 it actually took. The next morning, I called Derrick at Square Cow, explained what transpired, and how very unhappy we were with the length of time the move from the truck into the house took. He assured me that this was not the normal way they conduct their business, and that he would give us his best movers and an hour free for our move on Monday, September 29th to make up for it. I realize that every one has an off day, and we decided to give them a second chance. The morning of September 29, the Square Cow movers showed up at our location promptly at 8:30, and were done moving everything on to the truck by 11am. They were all very polite and helpful, and moved very quickly. They were completely done unloading our belongings from the truck by 1pm. They hustled! They apologized for the unhappy experience we had on Friday, and really made up for it by outperforming themselves. Derrick called on Tuesday morning to make sure our move went well, and to extend another free hour to us for any move and to any of our friends and family that might need a moving company. I told him that we were very happy and that we would definitely recommend Square Cow to family and friends. Even though our first move was less than ideal, Square Cow definitely made up for it. We are very pleased with their overall performance, and will be using them again when we need to move. read more

Awesome is a word that gets thrown around quite a bit these days, I know. But Awesome is the only word I can think of to describe our recent move with Square Cow Moovers. It started with the name. Square Cow. It stood out to me as I searched through Yelp looking for a company that could help my family and I with a fairly difficult move. I thought "Wow, what a name. This must be just some gimmick," but I read a few reviews, and they seemed to be the real deal. So I sent them an email, and received a response within 30 minutes. Everyone I talked to via email or the telephone was extremely polite and helpful. Customer service seemed to be a priority. After I scheduled my move, I had to cancel due to some unforeseen circumstances, and Square Cow was more than happy to reschedule. It was no problem at all. When we finally got the move scheduled, it was nothing but smooth sailing. On the morning of the move, three 26' trucks and 6 men showed up about 10 minutes ahead of schedule. Adrian (the lead man on the job) walked the house with us before they started to make sure we were all on the same page. With that, they were on the "moove." Adrian, Torres, Gilbert, Sergio, Brandon and Jesse were all so polite and well-mannered. These guys are true professionals not only in the way they handle the furniture moving, but also in the way they present themselves and represent their company. They were so careful with our belongings. They moved quickly and with a purpose, but not so fast as to be careless. I felt very comfortable putting my family's things in their hands. We hired another company to move our pool table. (Square Cow does move pool tables, but they do not move one-piece slate tables.) The men moving our pool table were having a little trouble getting it up the stairs, so a couple of the Square Cow guys jumped right in and helped. We were all very grateful. During the move, our walls ended up with a couple of minor dings in them which I fully expected to have to fix myself. However, Adrian took pictures and told us they would fix them. Within a couple of days, the manager of the store came out and personally fixed the wall dings. I would definitely recommend Square Cow to anyone. When you put your family's belongings in any company's hands, it can be nerve wracking, but have no fear if you use Square Cow. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. read more

Yee Haw! (that's me trying to go with the cow theme). We had a WONDERFUL giant move with you guys!! My in-laws lost their home with the flooding related to hurricane Harvey and with my father-in-law being 94, they have had quite a lot to work through this last year and a half. They have heard horror stories of friend's movers and were very concerned about the quality and cost of their move options. I have been helping them navigate their Harvey recovery from up in Keller, TX and saw your moving trucks in my neighborhood and decided to check reviews. Y'alls were great. From beginning to end, absolutely EVERYONE that we came in contact with was so respectful both of my in-laws and of their belongings. We felt everything was handled with great care - from a treasured heirloom cactus plant, to a gigantic garage cabinet on wheels that my father-in-law handmade many years ago. I was so pleased that everyone was so kind to my in-laws and answered every question with "Yes Ma'am" and "Yes Sir". Y'all were very patient with them and I really appreciate each and every one I came in contact with. Giant shout outs to : Becky, Refugio, Frankie, "Knee", and his pal that came - I'm sorry I don't remember his name! Also to Steve, Allen, Andre, Grant, Angel & Kevin. We talked to Derik Massey from Square Cow Moovers (Katy) who was very friendly and helpful, and even offered a free in-home assessment in order to give us the most accurate quote and time-frame possible. On the day of the move, the three movers (Steven, Rob and Blake) arrived on the pre-decided time. The movers were very pleasant to work with as well--they finished moving all our stuff in 2.75 hours (which was less time than our pre-move assessment which estimated a move time of about 3.5 hours). Derik Massey dropped by during the moving as well to make sure everything was going okay. The move was very stress-free because of Square Cow Moovers, and the management and movers were friendly, trustworthy and reliable. All of our furniture was damage-free after the move. Our final payment did not have any hidden or additional costs (fuel costs, separate charge for packing stuff, etc.), so we didn't get any surprises at the time of payment. Also, the payment was collected after the move was completed. We were concerned about rain on the day of the move, but Square Cow Moovers assured us that if it rained bad enough that work had to be stopped, they would stop the clock as well, and we would not be charged for the time that the movers were not working because of the rain. OMG!!!! I hate paying for movers but I hate moving even more!! I researched all the local established movers, but chose Square Cow Moovers and I'm so glad I did!! They made this experience a pleasant one...if that can be said about moving. The move was scheduled for 8:00 and they called at 7:55 to let me know they were about 5-10 minutes away. Got right to work covering and wrapping furniture. All three men-which included John the manager, were friendly, efficient, and quick. All of my items were handled with care and protected as much as possible. If there was any concerns they let me know right away. They moved my 2nd floor apt... and then drove to and emptied a 10x10 storage unit...never slacking or slowing down...even after the booby trapped container of Legos fell and sprayed minifigures all over the truck; they quickly picked them up and kept going. Moving into the house went even quicker...paying per hour you would expect to see the crew moving slow or taking frequent breaks to increase the cost, but these men worked straight through only stopping long enough to drink a Gatorade or ask questions about where things were to be placed. Combining two large long-time households (10+ and 30+ years) into one house is a daunting task, but working with SquareCow Moovers made the process practically enjoyable for my partner and me. From Derrick's initial visit to our final goodbyes to the truly wonderful crew of Ryan, Johnny, Robert, and Blake, our experience was consistently positive. No one could have been more polite, patient and professional than these guys. Whether it was explaining how the process worked, suggesting ways to save costs by preparing well, taking great care with packing, loading and unloading, this crew was consistently excellent. The phrases, "Yes, sir" and "Yes, ma'am," "Would you like..." "Is it ok if ..." were constant and natural - never phony. They were especially careful and successful in their handling of many cumbersome yet fragile pieces of art. My entire move experience with Square Cow Moovers was great. I thought the highlight might be the simple pricing structure (vs. others out there who surcharge this or one-time-fee that), or maybe the booking process with Jacob, but move day was the best of all. We received a call ~20 minutes before the crew arrived, and they were right on time. Since we were moving an over full 4 BR house, they sent 2 trucks and 6 guys (2 more sets of hands than we expected). The entire crew completed a walk through and quickly got to work - the trucks were fully loaded in under 4 hours and unloaded in 3 hours. After a second run back to the old house (no kidding about the house being over full) they were finished in 12 hours, including 3.5 hours on transit time. I was impressed with the pace these guys kept - no trying to increase the fee by taking longer - as well as their attention to protecting our things. The crew chief Dave also did a great job of looking after the guys to make sure they were hydrated and switching out roles. Square Cow Moovers are the best of all my experiences ever (11 of them). From the moment I requested a quote to the last box being placed in my new apartment, they took the tension out of the move very professional, very friendly, and extremely efficient. Moved 22 miles from the west side to inside the loop in less than 3 hours back in September. I still can't believe how fast they moved everything and the care they took with my belongings. I have had my fair share of horror moving stories and I am so thankful this move was painless. What a breath of fresh air !!! Our realtor recommended Square Cow. We sold our home and moved into a short term rental while we wait for our new home to be built. Our team was Oscar, Bryan, Carter and Brandon. About an hour or so, the trainer, A.D., showed up to make sure everything was being handled correctly. I cannot tell you how happy we were. As each guy came it, they SMILED and introduced themselves. We discussed what was to be done and off they went. They worked very hard but looked like they were having a good time and enjoyed what they were doing. They were very helpful and asked several times if there was anything else they could do for us. By looking at the truck, one of the qualifications for employment must be at least an expert level player of Tetris. We will be using them again for the move to the new home. We had two estimates done on our move from Katy to Richmond. Square Cow and Katy Movers. Unfortunately, due to having an acquaintance who worked for Katy Movers, I went with them. Bad mistake! We were treated unprofessionally from top to bottom and fired them mid-move. The next day we called Square Cow. What a contrast! Rene and Shannon came over to the old house and got right to work. I couldn't have had too nicer, more professional young men working for us! They took special care to ensure our "stuff" was handled properly and set in place as needed. Derrick called to see how things were going and ensure we were satisfied. My only regret is going with the other guys first instead of SC. We had to do a double move this summer. Our first movers were OK, but I felt like their rates were a little high so we called up Square Cow after seeing their incredible reviews. Well, Square Cow lived up to their reputation and then some. Very professional, extremely capable and always courteous. We had 2 truck loads worth of stuff to move and they knocked it out in a day. Two days after the move the manager called us up to make sure we everything was OK and that we were satisfied. Great service! I could tell that their main interest is to build an impeccable reputation, and would do what it takes to ensure I would be a return customer. After reading all of the reviews about Square Cow Moovers, I decided to go with them to move me out of my 3rd floor, 1 bedroom apartment into a one story house. I called and got a quote, and surprisingly it was the cheapest quote I received. We scheduled the move for 8AM, and the day of they called at 7:50AM letting me know they were putting gas in the truck and would arrive in 5 min. Rene, Edward, and Shawn got to my apartment a little early and started loading the truck immediately. We had a lot of fragile items that we were worried about, but they handled everything with care. I was very impressed with the team of Trey Rodney and Julius. They communicated with me about everything and I felt well taken care of. They asked me if I needed them to move faster as I was watching them run up and down the sidewalk and flights of stairs. They did an excellent job. All of my furniture was wrapped and everything was handled with care. The lead tech was a great team motivator and it was nice to work with people who enjoy their jobs. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't able to meet the movers personally. I had to be at work so my mom took care of everything for me. My mom said the movers were great and I didn't doubt that. I booked the movers and I felt easy talking to John and reassured me with the price and everything else. My mom said they called her when they left the facility, prompt in getting to my apartment, and the packing and moving was a breeze. Also price is much reasonable than other mover companies. Paid $180 for 2 hours worth compared to $365 somewhere else (not mentioning company's name). This is my first time hiring a mover company, definitely be calling them again on my next move! If you are moving, do yourself a favor and use Square Cow Movers! Steve and Kevin were the gentlemen on my crew, and I could not have hand-picked two better people to help me! They called at 8am to inform me they were on their way, and arrived right when they said the would. They wrapped all of my furniture to protect it, were methodical in packing, and made sure everything was packed to where it wouldn't shift during my 800-mile move. I also had things I wanted to pack in my personal car rather than the UHAUL, and they were happy to load my items into it as well.
