So, I finally tried SP's in Visalia and wow... these tacos are on another level. I got the brisket, pork belly, and a quesabirria taco (yes, with the consomé for dipping), and every single one was delicious. The tortillas are homemade for the brisket and pork belly tacos, the meat is super tender, and the toppings are spot on -- fresh salsa, pickled onions, cilantro, even grilled jalapeños. You can tell a lot of care goes into them because they honestly look like tacos you'd see in a competition. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to. read more

The dining area inside is cute and quaint. I think the price I paid for two asada tacos and a fountain drink was very fair, and it hit the spot before I had to take off for my trip. They were very prompt with their service and got my food quickly. read more

Had some of the best tacos I've had in while here. Honestly topped some of the best taco joints I've had, even in LA, etc. Tried a trio of tacos including birria, brisket, and my favorite, the pork belly tacos. All served in home made tortillas, the quality I got topped most of the higher end end places I've experienced. Back to the pork belly tacos, they're prepped for 2 days and the end product is a must. Well balanced, pork melted in your mouth, and didn't taste/feel fatty. Check this place out!!! read more

I would love to give SP's a 5 star review! They're definitely a high 4 star place for sure! But high prices and hit and miss customer service due to a language barrier is what really makes it hard to stick a 5 star rating. The breakfast plate was a very big surprise! The eggs were cooked a perfect sunny side up, the potatoes were nice and crispy, yet soft and paired well with the beans and the rest of the plate. It came with flour tortillas which also had a nice flavor. My "go-to" is usually an Asada Wet Burrito but I felt like changing it up a little bit! Glad I did! The Tortas here are also really good! But here's the kicker! Getting this place delivered is "EXPENSIVE!" For two entrees and a side of fries is around $50 bucks! Yes I know! They don't have any beverages to choose from either on the delivery side, but sure they have fountain drinks available at the restaurant. We tried going down there a few times to order and it was a complete mess! Most of the crew is more Spanish speaking and we aren't very fluent, which seemed to annoy the lady at the window taking our order. The feeling felt more "rushed" and like we were a "bother" for being there instead of being greeted and invited. So we just stick with delivery. For being called a Burger Place they really do make very good Mexican food! That's what's been keeping us coming back. If you do decide to come down here and order, just be patient, understand the language barrier might cause frustration on both ends but don't let it stop you from having a great meal! read more

We stopped at SPS around 1pm on a Thursday. The lady at the window had a flat personality, almost annoyed at our presence, all business, but was quick to take our order and then disappeared behind a screen she quickly shut, which gave the impression she was also the cook. The menu is what you'd expect from a corner burger joint. My wife ordered a #1, Cheeseburger meal and I ordered a chicken strip basket. We also got fries each and a Pepsi each. The pepsi was sweet, clearly a fountain drink. The total was around 22 dollars. We sat at the outdoor benches directly in front of the order window. A grub hub delivery guy repeatedly stopped by to collect meals and continued on his way. We were soon joined by other patrons who paid and seated themselves at adjacent tables. It took about 13 minutes to receive our meals. Ketchup was provided in abundance, those little ketchup packets available everywhere fries are served. I was surprised by the lack of barbecue sauce, which they apparently do not stock or provide to patrons. A single, very small ranch dressing was provided. It didn't taste like anything and looked like mayonnaise with green flakes in it. The chicken strips were thick, crispy and flavorful and the fries were also perfect. My wife didn't praise the burger, but she didn't complain about it either. I believe they need to change their ranch recipe and provide barbecue sauce. I ate here once before and the barbecue sauce was good. This is the first mom and pop shop "burger stand" I've frequented in Visalia. I believe Super burger in Porterville is better all around. 3 stars for lack of sauce. I may eat here again someday, but it's not high on my list. read more

So I got a Mexican Cheeseburger ( a torta) And they were kind but I took way to long that people who ordered after me got their food so quick and the food was undercooked and I asked for no onions on my torta and they gave me onions but the food was ok and the service was good read more

This place is out of this world delicious and the service is just as good! We ordered way too much but everything was sooo good. My boys got cheeseburgers and my 8 year old told me it was probably the best burger he's ever had. We got queso birria tacos (the consume is insanely delicious!), a carne asada torta made to perfection, a plate of the chips covered in cheese and Chile verde, a pork belly taco, the SP carne asada taco and left fully stuffed with food to go. Okay I don't know if I'm just getting lucky with the places I go to, but Sp's today, was out of this world. OUT OF THIS WORLD! Huevos Rancheros (spellcheck?) never had it before though, and what a great decision it was. At first I thought that was a tortilla under the Chile verde. Boy was I wrong. It was the fluffiest egg I've ever eaten, WHAT?! That flavor was like a tsunami hitting my taste buds when I took my first bite. My eyes got so big, I forgot I was a grown man for a second and dove right in like an infant to his first taste of a sugary substance. Don't even get me started on this potatoes, that's a novel in itself. I don't even know how they made them, what's in them to make the texture and taste so perfect, or why they even look this damn good, but guys, these potatoes blew me out of this world. The beans were of course good, they're beans after all. Nothin much to say other than that. The chili verde packed the perfect amount of spice, it was honestly amazing. Those tortillas are hand made right? They have to be. Either way, the damn tortillas were even amazing. I usually go to SP's when I'm bar hopping and wanna grab a quick burger, but we doordashed this time and of course the food arrived nice and hot, neatly with a nice message on the box. I do have one single complaint, and I'm not sure if this was the fault of SP's or Doordash so I can't blame either one, but my wife ordered a shrimp quesadilla , but instead came in the form of a wet burrito. She enjoyed it either way, and it looked damn good. Again, I'm not sure who's at fault here, but felt I needed to add that to the near perfect review. WE WILL be back (Arnold voice) and ready to dominate that menu once again, thank you SP's for such a delightful morning. read more

Have to say I was very disappointed in today's "special" Grilled Chicken salad. It had like 5 half slices of cucumber, 3 half slices of very thin tomato, maybe 1/3 of a cup of "grilled" chicken pieces and a handful of croutons on top of about 3 pounds of shredded iceberg lettuce and I was given about 1 ounce of ranch dressing to top it off with. This was THE MOST EXPENSIVE HORRIBLE SALAD I have ever paid $12 for--oh, plus the $3.29 large soda that tastes a little "off". I probably should have stuck with my first inclination to get something greasy and fried or have gone to one of the other downtown businesses. read more

This is the spot for Monday dollar tacos. It was empty inside and they were fast and the meat was plentiful. Besides brew bakers and some Chinese this is maybe the only food open on main st during the day. Very underrated. read more

Swung by for a quick bite and the inside is nice and clean. Food is mediocre at best . Got the taco de birria and the meat was a bit dry. The tortilla tasted funny but that's probably the way they make it also got some tacos and they were pretty tasty not to salty or over seasoned which is good. I also got a horchata and was disappointed at the flavor it had. Overall the place isn't something I'd pick to eat again. read more

It's called SP's "Burgers" but they have a huge mexican menu, due to the fact that it's owned and operated by mexicans. I haven't eaten from the mexican menu yet, but I do know their burgers. The patty is thin, the ingredients most likely Sysco. What is great about this place though is they execute their food correctly. The bacon was nice and crispy and their fries (crinkle cut, which I love for some odd reason) was fully fried and soft in the middle. The value of this place is great. My meal and drink was only 5 dollars, 5 dollars I'd rather spend here than a Burger King or McDonalds. read more

I should've known better not to order when I was standing in line... I saw the waitress, Brenda, harshly yell at two elderly ladies to go sit down and she'll bring them their food when it's ready. I get it, it's busy because there is a convention in town and the restaurant isn't that large, but smile a little and say it politely. These people are your business. I tried to ignore it and decided I was going to order anyways since I had already been waiting in line. I ordered a "Torta Combo". I waited 23 minutes to get my food. She dropped it on my table and said, "here" and kept on walking. Umm? I had to walk to the front and ask for my drink. She said, you should've received that when you paid. Well, I'm sorry, but I didn't. She rolled her eyes and got me my drink. As I got my food and walked out, I was thinking to myself... I really hope their food isn't as bad as their service. Stumbled into here by chance and can definitely say I was pleased. I enjoyed their special: 2 pork belly tacos with beans and rice and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely had an elaborate culinary touch to it: the pork belly was cooked and sliced to perfection, the sauce was unique but very complimenting, the pickled onions created a pleasant tang against the saltiness of the meat and the cotija cheese and cilantro really put it together. It was so beyond my expectations, I felt so happy eating it, absolutely delicious. Their rice and beans tasted homemade and FULL of flavor, probably the best I've ever had in a public restaurant. The only thing I would change about the tacos is that they were so packed, a second layer of tortilla would've helped. Additionally those who worked there were kind and inviting, the place was very clean. Unfortunately the wait was moderately long but they provided at least one taco for me until the other was finished so I could start eating and I really appreciated that! Honestly not trying to be rude but me and my fiancé go out to eat a lot & we ordered a variety of food and honestly we've tried gas station tortas and nachos & Ampms hotdogs and all I have to say it the food isn't great at all, they really have to step it up & also when we got their we ordered the food with the cook but the cashier took off to the store so we had to wait to pay until she came, the nachos aren't all that or the hotdogs or the tortas & their very pricey , super taco is cheaper . read more

First time going here. Ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger combo. Came with fries and a drink. The employee who took my order was friendly and provided great service. Our food was made fresh. They don't charge for them on the app and don't have a quantity cap, so i usually ask for around (4) to (5) green and the same in habanero. The burritos are big and I'm a salsa kind of guy lol. If 10 sauces overall is too much, then that's fine. At least give me something lol. I've been given (0) or (1) at times. My burrito is 50/50 sometimes grilled, sometimes not "mostly not", they will forget my drinks from time to time. When i ask the driver, they say they weren't given a drink. My food has come cold, the meat has been chewy and fatty. I've had to get refunds on orders because of the quality. So I always ask the drivers to make sure my drinks are there and my sauces are in the bag. But here I've been, coming back cause i was genuinely a happy customer more times than not. Then to randomly hear from a delivery driver who's picked up your orders from here before, you've been talked "sh$t' about. So much that he even contemplated telling me "DONT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE". This is a place you've given business to on a regular basis! It's disheartening and it hurts. My last review was even a good one lol. Needless to say I'm not coming back. Pretty messed up too, cause i was happy to see them come to town since i first encountered them in Bakersfield. Oh well.. talk all the crap you want now, hope you read this. I know one customer ain't no love lost. But now everyone will know how they're being treated behind their backs. Better places in town to find.

We ordered Cooked Seafood Molcajete- Shrimp, octopus, crab, fish, and mussels. How was this almost $20 ($15 + Svc fee) I immediately took a photo and called the restaurant. Our server, Adriana, asked me to text the picture to the # I was calling +1 (559) 830-4004 so the manager could approve a refund. I did exactly as instructed, and they did respond after reviewing picture and said they would issue refund... but despite following up multiple times, no one ever processed my refund or even responded. Considering how expensive the food is here (plus added service fees), it's really disappointing to be treated with such unprofessionalism. All I expected was accountability and a resolution for an order that was clearly incomplete. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and customer care has left a very negative impression, and I don't plan to return.
