I'm worn out. It was a full weekend of partying to celebrate my little girl's first trip around the sun. I knew full well that I had to put much of the responsibilities for food and entertainment into other people's hands to stay sane. In comes Chef Tyner and away falls the stress...... The hardest thing about reviewing Sprout is which of the positives to stress the most. Our experience having Sprout cater one of our weekend parties was chock full of superlatives. Let's just do it chronologically.... 1) The contact. Adam is the consummate professional. He listens. Sounds simple, but it's not. Try it for yourself. It's not as easy as it seems. Chances are you are just waiting to talk. The budget, the mood, the style. He picks it all up. He doesn't just throw a menu in your face and wait for you to decide. (unless you want him to, I assume). This is a very collaborative process. Great for events important to you. 2) The proposal. Adam comes back with something within your budget that you would have not thought of. And chances are, by now, you are salivating. Look, the guy KNOWS his craft ,he understands composition, logistics and will add more to your party than you can imagine. It's a cliche, but "creative" is an appropriate word. Adam is an artist. 3) The Delivery. OK, not everyone can write up an impressive proposal, but certainly very few people will follow through with dynamite execution. Everything he served came ON TIME (to Zilker Park during Kite Fest, no less), at temperature and tasted AMAZING. And the guy is cool beyond belief. He's not out there handing out business cards. He's just taking care of business. Here are some teasers from our Birthday Brunch in the Park. -Spinach-artichoke strata w/ mozzarella & Parmesan -Sandwich#1:Smoked salmon, dill cream cheese, cucumber & watercress -Sandwich#2: Caramelized onion, fig jam, Gorgonzola on walnut bread -Basil lime spritzer -Muhammara (look it up) All outstanding. My favorite item I will keep as a surprise. Suffice it to say that it looks utterly unimpressive in words but it is totally mind expanding. The meal was elegant and, simply put, a hit, and it didn't cost me, as we used to say in Boston, "a nominal egg". Adam did a wonderful job for a small casual birthday dinner party for my husband. We agreed on a menu of summer salads, and he showed up on time, organized, and set everything up. Adam catered our 2012 company holiday party. The food and his service were beyond impressive! He created a delicious menu that accommodated our mix of vegan, gluten free, omnivore and vegetarian diets. I was visiting Austin for a bachelorette party and hired Chef Adam to come cook for a group of 15. He made everything extremely easy-he sent over several proposed menus, and was able to make all changes/substitutions that I had requested. We decided to do Italian (bruschetta, salad, broccolini and chicken parmesan) and everyone absolutely loved the food. I think we may have asked him how to prepare the bruschetta about 20 times because everyone was THAT obsessed with it. We were only in Austin for the weekend, and did dinner at a restaurant one night and with Chef Adam the second night. Chef Tyner was amazing. We requested his service to help conjure up a TexMex themed dinner for 20 guys. He was very responsive and worked with me to craft a customized menu. We had guacamole and crab/shrimp ceviche to start; steak fajitas with tortillas, cheese, sautéed onions, peppers, sour cream, chicken enchiladas with a green tomatillo sauce as our entrees; grilled Mexican street corn, refried beans, Spanish rice as sides and churros for dessert. I hired Chef Adam for my small bachelorette party, and it was such a great experience! Even though there were originally only 5 of us, we had so many different food allergies and restrictions in the group that I wasn't sure if a private chef would even want to work with us. However, Chef Adam was SO patient and accommodating, and made a fantastic 4-course meal that was perfect for everyone! We were all amazed with how delicious and creative the food was. I randomly found Adam online. I was hoping to bring someone in to cook for 10 guys during our annual "guys trip". Adam far exceeded our expectation. I asked for a "meat and potatoes" type of meal for a group who had been in the sun relaxing all day. I'm so glad I found Chef Adam to prepare an exceptional dinner for 20 ladies for a bachelorette party at our AirBnb in West Lake. The bride is a foodie so we wanted to make sure this dinner was amazing and Adam certainly delivered. He gave us several menu options and we chose the following: goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped w/ prosciutto & a basil leaf, delicious salad, flank steak with a lemon-herb cream sauce (with a special substitution for the vegetarian in our group), smoked Gouda mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and chocolate bread pudding w/ cherries, pistachios & fresh whipped cream for dessert.
