I had a nice outing today @ Sproul Lanes! I took a friend out for our annual bowling tournament! I made reservations on the website and it made the check-in smoother and quicker! The bowling alley staff were prompt and helpful when our monitors weren't functioning properly! The costs of the beverages were not surcharged and I appreciated the overall vibe of the space! Went bowling today for the first time in numerous years. Don't even remember the last time, but long enough for me to forget how to bowl! I wore my Big Lebowski pants and the bowling nostalgia hit me as soon as we walked in. Some neon, the thunderous crash of the ball smashing the pins, cheers and jeers as people hit and miss. The 55 and over league was in full swing, as well as a kids bday party, so it was quite a ruckus in there, but fortunately some lanes for open bowling were available. In addition to the shoe rental, it's 5 per game per person or 25 an hour per lane. The 3 of us got in 4 games, and it took us about 100 minutes at a medium pace. If we were a party of 4 the lane rental would have saved us money. Follow the instructions on your lanes's display. Enter your names on your keyboard using the up/down arrows. Hit the red button when ready to bowl! We had a blast even if we didn't bowl great. Maybe that's let of the fun? No issues with our lane requiring intervention from the staff, decent selection of house balls, and nice clientele. Everyone was having fun! Restrooms were clean and so was our lane. They appear to be putting in some type of pub in 2022 so keep an eye out for that. Surprise tho! There is an escape the room which is currently closed! The do NOT have pool tables, those have been gone for 30 years apparently. For parking, try the left side of the building as you head in, the front lot gets crowded. No outside food or beverage! Seriously???? I took three kids with me and played one game for $60.00. Talk about getting ripped off. The guy asked if I wanted by the game or hour and I said whichever is cheapest. We played one game which should have been $42.00 including shoes. By the time we got the bumpers asked for twice and shoes, 15 minutes had passed. For $2 we could have played the second game. Is he commission or something or just plain unaware???? Beware of the rip off. read more

[595] Sproul lanes is on busy Sproul road..lol. Plenty of parking. They have an arcade section, café and bowling store. We have bowled here for a kid's birthday party and loved how large the bowling alley is and how the scoring is digitalized. There are also a few extra screens to show a sports program. They had the food area right behind the lanes which was great. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening which is obviously a league night. It was nice seeing tons of people coming together for a fun game of bowling. We didn't eat in the café but it was large with plenty of seating. I did see a few people walking around with some tasty looking French fries. We stopped in the bowl shop since this is where we picked up a bowling ball years ago. Happy to report that staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to order a customized bowling ball and we expect to have it by the weekend. Very happy with the service. Horrible lanes. Scratches up our balls and workers are just rude. They nickel and dime you. Start the hour right when you pay instead of right when the games start. My kids had to put on shoes and such, so we only had 45 minutes of actual play time. We told them and they said we had to pay for an additional 15 minutes even though we technically had it. Lastly, the lanes are extremely old. They don't have auto bumpers so it makes it difficult to concentrate. Never coming back here read more

I can only give Sproul Lanes 2 stars. We never go bowling, or at least haven't in 10-15 years. Our two younger daughters and their boyfriends and my husband and I met there for an hour of bowling last Saturday. Just our luck that they were working on our lane because the ball return was broken. The guy at the desk assured us that it would be fixed soon so we waited and waited and waited and after almost an hour we finally decided to just leave and get our money back. He did offer us another lane with an extra hour at 8 o'clock that night, but we had other plans afterwards and couldn't stay that late. Also during that time, we tried to order food only to be told by the guy running the snack bar that he had too many orders and he wasn't taking any more. As we were leaving, the mechanic said he was going to make sure we got comped something for our troubles but we still haven't heard anything and I doubt we will. Another thing that was weird was that I paid online with my card but the guy refunded me with cash, which is fine, but it was a couple of bucks less than what I paid online. Not that big of a deal so I didn't bother saying anything but it was rather bizarre. Needless to say, we won't be rushing back to Sproul anytime soon. read more

We did not have a good experience...the lady at the front desk who runs the bar needs to learn customer service. We paid for 2 games and only my 2 daughters were playing...I added 4 names but only w people were playing. The lady with glasses and her bun went ahead and canceled out 2nd game We paid for and charged us for 2 extra people because I added two names to the screen when my 2 daughters were the only one playing. She could have just said are 4 people playing I would have replied no and she could have removed 2 names but no she had to be difficult and charge us extra for games and people that didn't play. She was so thirsty for extra money and was just rude. Then the same lady who ran the bar on 6/22/24 took a drink straight out of my husband's hand....he had a alcohol drink and this lady ripped it out of my husband's hand and threw it out in front of his face. So rude and disrespectful. This lady who ran the bar needs to learn how to treat customers. read more

They have renovated and it is super clean, freshly painted (even the restrooms are clean and fresh) and just a GREAT place to either have a party (kids or adults bowling/birthday party) or rent a lane and bowl for a couple of hours. Very nice! read more

This bowling alley is exactly what all bowling alley's should be. Helpful workers who are always willing to give you a hand with shoe size or what weight ball to use. It is never too crowded so you don't really have to worry about noise or being squished between larger parties on both sides of you. All around a great place for anyone who is just looking to have a fun time bowling. However on a second note- If you are a experienced bowler like myself and you are planning on bringing your own ball and shoes bowl at your own risk. There is a possibility that your ball will be scratched or even in a very rare case chipped. If you are practicing for a serious tournament or a league you should probably bowl at a bit of a more upper class place though because the oil patterns are the lanes here are very inconsistent and sometimes I question if there is any oil on certain lanes at all (However that is to be expected since it is VERY CHEAP to bowl). So to sum up great place to have a party or go out bowling with friends but if you are looking for somewhere where you can practice and just bowl without worrying about your ball probably go somewhere a tad more expensive. read more

Our good friends are expecting their first child and wanted to get in some pre-baby fun, so we stopped by Sproul Lanes after dinner on Saturday night. Having never even known it existed, I was unsure of just want to expect - I was afraid we might have to wait for a lane, but the place was mostly empty around 9pm. There were remnants of a kids' birthday party, a family, and a few teenagers, but other than that the place was empty. This isn't one of those fancy-schmancy facilities with laser lights and glow in the dark balls. Instead, it's a bit retro, stuck in the 80s, with hard plastic seats and actual keyboard to type in players names. Still, the cost for all four of us to rent shoes and play a game was about $30 - not too bad. To be honest I'd be good if I only went bowling once a year, but for a quick and easy game on a Saturday night, Sproul is as good a place as any! read more

I had a birthday party for my son, we've had several parties there before. I'm not sure if the staff/ ownership changed but this time was not pleasant. From the beginning I spoke with Danielle to book the party she was supposed to call me back the next day for our deposit because she was working from home, she never did. So I called a few days before our party to confirm, and pay our deposit. the lady who answered wasn't very friendly in the situation just said Danielle works from home part time... ok? Our party was 3-5, upon arrival our table was not set up, I was told a party just left, even though there time should have left 30 mins prior. Our party host was running 3 parties, so I felt bad for him. my guests were showing up without anything being set up. The one lane was missing pins for a while, bumpers kept falling down. It was a nightmare to get shoes. Then after the party I was overcharged, I asked the young man behind the counter how much an additional pizza was he said hold on, walked away... and never came back. So I brought it to the attention of my party host, asking how much an additional pizza was since I never received a itemized receipt. He was great, he told me I was actually never charged for the pizza, so I owed more?? That was incorrect. He told me to stand back in line, and wait to speak to the person who rung me up. Once it was my turn, he said let me get the person who rung you out... but it was you sir?? A women came over, telling me I was charged for a plain and pepperoni pizza.. but we only ordered one. She insisted I ordered both, and read me my lane numbers, but that was the party next to me. She refunded me for the pepperoni pizza. I'm honestly not even sure what I was charged for, and if it was correct. it was not a fun experience start to finish.. I didn't like her making me seem wrong, and never apologized for that mistake, just kept saying "just refund her" "just refund her." The parties I've had years prior went a lot smoother, one party host per party, and actually being set up for my arrival. I doubt we'd be back for a party for a while. read more

I'm by no means a seasoned bowler but I'm giving Sproul Lanes my seal of approval. I'm definitely comfortable here on the real wood lanes as opposed to synthetic. I do hear grumblings about " too much oil" from some of the bowlers who also bowl elsewhere but it doesn't really affect my game of just flinging the ball top speed at the headpin. Sproul may not be a Strike but it certainly picks up a spare in my book. Ugh! I hate myself for this review. read more

As far as bowling alleys go this one is fairly decent. I went with my family on a Saturday night. We decided to make a reservation ahead of time online (which was a good idea since it ended up getting fairly crowded.) We got the Pizza bowl package which was nice. They seemed slightly understaffed with only one register and one employee doing what looked like everything else. I am not a fan of the layout of the actual lanes and seating. Each two adjacent lanes share a set of benches which can get pretty tight and squished for somewhat large groups. It was pretty uncomfortable having 5 in our group and 5 in their group. We felt like we were sitting right on top of each other. Other than that it was an enjoyable experience and I would probably go back, maybe just reserve two lanes instead of one. read more

The older gentleman Jim, who had given me and my friends bumpers for years flat out denied allowing bumpers. I have been coming to this specific bowling ally for 10+ years getting bumpers each time as I come with friends trying to introduce them to the sport, unfortunately introduction to the sport can be difficult and frustrating without having the handicap of bumpers. I will no longer bowl at sproul lanes as I have noticed that many of the poor reviews mention jim m or an "older man" as being rude and yet nothing has been done. The bowling ally was clean as usual and still has the friendly environment. I will miss this bowling ally, and it is sad that I will need to find a new one. read more

This is an okay bowling alley. It is usually crowded and has a wait. I went with my fiancé for a couple rounds of bowling recently. The lane we were at was kinda dirty and someone's food had been left there. The pins also got messed up and we had to have someone come and reset it, but the employees were nice enough. read more

Stopped in to get a ball drilled up at the pro shop and bowled a few games. This place gets it and is upgrading like crazy. Looks good, and they have little dinosaurs for ball ramps. I'd suggest this and go in the area to bowl. Good stuff all around. read more

I can confidently say that my experience at Sproul Lanes was anything but pleasant. The customer service I received was underwhelming and overall disappointing. Not only were we overcharged, but we encountered a generous amount of attitude from a discourteous staff member. As we walked in and greeted the lady, we were polite, yet were still confused on how we wished to bowl that night. This seemed to frustrate her because she appeared to be impatient (generally not a good trait to possess in a customer service position.) She instilled a negative atmosphere for our group throughout our entire night and it was seemingly difficult for her to not scrutinize our every move. It truly distresses me knowing I am not able to rate this lower than 1 star because I feel as if it does not even deserve the absolute minimum. read more

EVIL CRANE GAMES!!!!!! I know I'm going to sound like a baby about the arcade crane games but seriously!!! 1st time: completely in the claw, raise to the top, BANG- abrupt stop, claw opens and drops the prize! 2nd time: because of course I think it was a fluke-NOPE!!! 3rd time: Just because I love to waste money!!!! But had to try for my 4 year old on Father's Day!! I know the concept of these games but why make it so obvious?! the lanes thenselves i love.. but i had takn a new ball to the shop and have it sized better for my style and grip.. the shop man who was very nice and knowledgable explained to me what needed to be altered. We came here last night on a whim with our 16 month old son and a neighbor and were lucky enough to get a lane without making a reservation. We had a great, great time! It was a tad expensive $18.25 per hour per lane, but it was a Friday night. Shoe rentals were an additional $3.40 per rental. The guys running the cashier were sweethearts and really friendly and always smiling. They provided us with a dragon ramp for our 16 month old! He had the best time! Even though it was packed, we had no problem finding balls that we felt comfortable with, which is usually a problem at bowling alleys. The establishment had a snack bar and an arcade. It was definitely family oriented. No bar on the premises! We got lucky getting a lane on a Friday. In the future, I will reserve my lane online. I started back bowling after 30 years and went to Sproul Lanes. The place brought back memories of bowling when I was a lot younger and spent a good amount of time bowling. The condition of the lanes as well as the management(Maryann) and also the cleanliness were 2ND to none. They have new synthetic lanes (several years ago) as well as automatic scoring. This is a terrible place to bowl. I am dumbfounded at my experience here. I came her today with some friends today. We were treated very bad by staff. We asked for bumpers because we wanted to have some fun since we are all terrible bowlers. The women came over to my friend and I as we were getting balls and she said since none of you are less then 10 we can not give you bumpers. This rule is extremely unnecessary. If someone would like to use bumpers even if they are older then ten it should be allowed. As longer as the group is not in a league. I do not see why they should not be permitted to use bumpers. I tried to ask for our money back after we were told no to bumpers and they said that it is nonrefundable. So we were forced to play our game all of us scoring less then 50. My family and I recently bowled here for Father's Day and we LOVED it! We hadn't been here in years, but chose this location based on pricing, even though it was a longer distance from our home than other bowling alleys. This is NOT a case of "you get what you pay for." Staff is friendly, equipment (shoes, bowling balls, lanes, computerized scoring, seating, etc) is in great shape, the other bowlers were fine (no riff raff) and even the snack bar was reasonably priced and delicious. There's a small arcade with a few games, some claw machines, skeeball, basketball, and air hockey. We got the $5/per person special for two games and shoe rental and our family of five thoroughly enjoyed ourselves for $25 bucks! read more
