The food was average but early on I needed to update my billing info. From there it became so complicated I just wanted to cancel. They do not allow "cancellation" - won't even acknowledge it. They will only give an "indefinite pause." From there they said I owe money for the "last shipment." I refused to give them my credit card again knowing I can never get it back. With "special approval" they allowed me to send a check to "reconcile" the account. So I sent a check and a week later I get the cutesy happy notice that the package is on its way. They totally fooled me. My account was paid in full when I attempted to cancel but they deceptively got one more payment out of me despite my clear direction to cancel. Lesson learned. There doesn't seem to be any way out of this service once started. Take the warning. read more

I have tried 6 different meal delivery services. I thought I would try Sprinly. The first thing I noticed was the food trays were more substantial and heavier indicating more food. The first I tried was the Apple Cranberry Salad with a delicious honey based dressing. It was very good and filling. The second meal was lighter and less calories, but equally delicious with many flavors merging on your tastebuds. Yes, I live in AZ in the summer, but I've ordered hello fresh for years and Thistle too, and have never had an issue with their packaging. Instead of taking the blame, their customer service blamed it on FedEx. I had to BEG them for a refund. I decided that when it gets cooler out, I would give it one more go, because i have a lot of food sensitivities and Sprinly is one of the only places I can order from. Big mistake 2. I reactivated my membership on Wed so I could choose some meals for the first week of November. I made sure to skip meals for the coming weeks as it would still be too warm. I woke up today to see my card was charged and the website said I had meals coming this week. I reached out to customer service, and was totally gaslit- they claimed I did in fact order, and since I didn't change it before Tuesday night, it would be shipped. But i only reactivatd my account on wednesday so that is impossible. Instead of being trying to help, they blamed it on me AGAIN and refused to give a refund, so I am going to have to appeal this with my credit card company. Love the healthy and creative meal delivery concept of gluten-free and no refined sugar culinary dishes, but hard to justify the high price point at $16+ for a prepackaged meal (with promo discount). As there are very few vegetarian and vegan meal delivery services, I was really excited to try Sprinly. I was enticed by a Facebook ad showcasing mouth-watering dishes and wanted to support the young couple's growing small business. The welcome hand-written card was wonderful with a nice personalized touch! The dishes are impressively healthy at around 500 calories and packed with 10-15 grams of protein and fiber and surprisingly filling. It's refreshing to read a list of ingredients and understand what they all are. The meals have a pretty long shelf life of around 5 days and look out for dishes indicated by the clock icon marked with "Eat Me First" or "Eat Me Earlier". Easy to miss! My favorite meals were the Asian stir-fry dishes. Osaka Soba Noodles with Tofu and Peanut Sauce and Indian Spiced Coconut Curry with Spiralized Carrots and Forbidden Rice (5/5) - The zesty sauces were the stand-outs and bursting with flavor. Wish there were more veggies like broccoli, peppers, and tofu. Gluten-Free Pasta with Bean Packed Marina and Cashew "Parm" (5/5) - The ragu sauce was bursting with flavor of onions, tomato, garlic, zucchini. I was nervous about the cannelli beans, but couldn't even taste them - the sauce tied all the flavors together. Mediterranean Veggie Kofta Crumble (5/5) - Another culinary dish that hubby and I enjoyed with turmeric rice and tasty kofta made of lentil, mushrooms, and leeks. Even my hubby who loathes mushrooms couldn't even taste them! Mac & Cheese with Steamed Broccoli (4/5) - Unique dish with a different cheesy texture made of cashews and coconut milk. Quinoa Salad with Beet Medallions (3/5) - A bit bland, very savory salad of peppers, tomatoes, beets packed with quinoa. The sliced green apples were nice, but craisins and cheese would help. Smoky Bun-less Beet Burger (3/5) - While the beet and bean packed burger was nice and filling, the simple garden salad of spring mix, tomato, and carrots was underwhelming. Nuts, seeds, and croutons would help to round out the salad. Sweet Potato Corn Tacos with quinoa (3/5) - Bland and felt incomplete. I added some goat cheese to elevate the flavor. Nice crunchy pepitas and the corn tacos were tasty, but fragile and broke easily. General Tsao's Tofu with Broccoli and Red Peppers (2/5) - While the tofu was flavorful with maple syrup, tamari, and garlic - there wasn't enough of it! Only 1/3 of the dish was veggies and tofu surrounded by a mountain of rice. Blueberry Salad (1/5) - Hodepodge of ingredients thrown together. The super tangy salad was overloaded with carrots, radishes, and pea shoots. The blueberry basil vinaigrette jammy dressing was icy cold and didn't tie the salad together. Overall, most of the meals felt a bit incomplete and more veggies should be added to the dishes and the salads. The dishes are really heavy on carrots and beet-based burgers. The sauces are really runny and don't keep well, and ended up not using some of them - lime crema and salsa. The stovetop heating instructions are complicated with multiple steps and definitely had to reread them! While there are instructions for the microwave, the food is best cooked on stovetop. I can't cook to save my life and my hubby had to prepare most of the meals for me (aside from the burgers and salads). Wish there were more meals that could be easily popped in the oven like lasagna and baked ziti. Would love to see some stews, soups, harvest bowls, sandwiches added to the menu. The minimal eco-friendly recyclable insulated packaging is impressive and kept the food cold. Would have been helpful to get an ETA on the delivery (vaguely before 8pm), and arrived in the afternoon and luckily I was home. Sprinly messed up my weekly order and received a double meal of the gluten-free pasta instead of the kofta and a blueberry salad which I loathed instead of the chili (I received a $16 refund). While I understand and appreciate the high production and operating costs for all the fresh and high quality ingredients and the overnight FedEx delivery, I can't justify spending $100/week for 6 meals (including $15/week promotional credit or the meals cost $18+ each). A made to order salad loaded with toppings at Chop't or Sweet Green costs less. By the 2nd week, I was relieved to be done with all the meals. Between the cooking and high price point, I cancelled my subscription. Great option if you're looking for new ways to combine healthy ingredients, gluten-free, diet/cleanse (would have been perfect for wedding prep), or have food allergies and willing to pay a premium for the convenience. I liked some and hated others. 4) Convenient if you don't have time to cook. I ordered religiously when enrolled in an intensive 10-week training. Cons: 1) Received moldy food (though not in every order) and only got a $5 credit in return - not even the full cost of the meal. 2) Quality of the food was inconsistent. Some food smells funky and is clearly not fresh (if you order a weeks worth of meals, food will be over a week old before you eat some meals). You can freeze, but textures get weird. 3) Packaging is incredibly unsustainable. It's hard to find a nonprofit that will accept the ice packs (I live in a major metropolitan area and spent at least an hour calling around), plastic food trays are not actually recyclable, and "biodegradable insulation" is not biodegradable. I give my food scraps to a neighbor who composts on her land, and she was excited to hear about this new "insulation." She happily ran a test, adding it to one of her compost piles, and it did not biodegrade. 4) No refunds if you forgot to skip and notice a charge on your statement (but they will give you a credit if you report it immediately) I've been skipping orders trying to save some money, while also deciding whether the pro's outweighs cons 1-3. I received the food laid on a Wednesday night. In order to cancel the next weeks meals you have to cancel by Tuesday night. The food was terrible. I couldn't eat it. I had to throw it away. I called them and asked them to cancel my next week service on April 29. It was to be delivered on May 8 and they already charged me for the week I had in the future week. they only would give me a credit. They refused to give me my money back so disappointing. They have a customer satisfaction on their website and say they will do whatever they can to credit back your account. The credit means a credit for another week of meals not your money back. I loved that the food is prepared and just needs to be warmed and plated. I tried Hungry Root which I didn't enjoy the random ingredients so I loved Sprinly put it all together all in one container. The meals are fresh and organic, vegan, gluten-free, and contain no refined sugars. I've had 3/6 of my meals my fav was the zucchini noodles with marinara and plant balls. It was odd that the directions referred to carrots but there were no carrots. It also referred to things in the directions that weren't applicable. I really disliked the Mediterranean Veggie Kofta which was not tasty. The vegan mac and cheese & broccoli at first bite I didn't loved but then I grew on me. I did add a little salt to offset the sweetness. I enjoyed it but it felt like a smaller serving than the other meals. The food was fresh and easy but now during covid with upscale restaurants delivering I think I'd rather order hot food for the same price as these meals. Having said that I am lucky to have vegan restaurants options but for it isn't so easy to find vegan food so that's a plus. I thought the meals were expensive were expensive and for me a bit hit and miss than I'd hoped. I think for men and some women these meals may not be filling enough without adding some additional good. I would order again if I had a super busy week. I think a big deterrent is that you have to order 7-8 ahead of your delivery date. They ship on Monday so if they could allow ordering as late as midnight on Thursday it could make a huge difference in first or repeat orders. The food is fresh, flavorful, and healthy. There is good variety in every delivery. The cons: overpriced. At $18 per meal, one unit costs more than going out to a restaurant. Why pay for a meal to get delivered when I can buy something similar down the street that is made when I order it? Also, the mobile site is a bit unclear to navigate. We were really excited to try the 18 meal Pack as we are in the process of opening a vegan deli in Virginia Beach. I ordered the meals and then placed my account on hold not knowing it would freeze my delivery. After 2 weeks I found out I had caused the delay and they immediately after one call resolved my issue. Then my meals arrived, ice blocks still frozen, food was super fresh. We have now had 5 of the meals and they are so easy and packed with nutrients. What a great service for a great price. We get so busy that we end up throwing a lot of food away since we can't get to cooking it. This makes me feel better that no food is being wasted. The serving sizes are generous. I received my final order today (I followed all the rules about when to cancel etc so I'm hoping another charge and box doesn't come) We have had much cooler weather and the contents were all sufficiently cold. I still however don't think the shipping/packing method works for very hot weather and right up to 48 hours for keeping the food safely cold and it takes every one of those 48 hours to make it to my door. The food all looked good although the lids don't really snap on so I did have some food spillage in the box. I separated them according to when you should eat them but didn't rely on the instruction on the carton. Last time I did and had to throw two more meals away one was a salad and one was on a bed of lettuce. I looked at each meal and found two in my current shipment that should be consumed first even though they didn't say it. I had my first meal a zucchini noodle salad that wasn't really a meal with less than 300 calories but was still tasty. I do have to chuckle at the reviews that say they couldn't eat the whole meal-I must be a pig because they did not seem to be overly generous servings to me. Was it a $16 meal? Not even close. The rest look good but still don't seem to be worth the cost. I have had very good responses from customer service and they are really trying hard to keep customers happy. This is by far the healthiest prepared vegan meal plan I have ever come across (I have tried several meal delivery services). While the food from other meal delivery services was delicious, I believe the meals were created for people who are new to vegan food. I could tell the meals were meant to taste great, but they had too much sodium content which scared me a little--after all, I am not only eating vegan meals for the sake of the animals and our planet, but I also eat vegan (for the most part) because it is super healthy when done correctly. I've been trying to incorporate more plant-based meals into my meal plan so it was VERY important to me that they taste good too so I actually enjoy what Im eating. I was shocked at how good a mail meal delivery service could be. The food is as good, if not better than ordering fresh from a local restaurant. The prices are totally fair and you get healthy meals, ready to go without spending your Sunday on meal prep. I also like how you can request multiples of the same meal in a week. This helps me accommodate some of my food allergies and flavor preferences--which is better than Hello Fresh, where only 3 veg options are offered a week with no way to substitute if you are allergic to say, basil. I got the service for myself to help me conveniently get in clean vegetable eating for quick lunches, but now my kids and spouse are competition since they love Sprinly, too. I tried Sprinly with the 40% off the first week, and I wanted to like it. I love the idea of supporting a smaller business, of easy vegan meals that are gluten free, and so I was willing to consider the very hefty price tag to try it out. Unfortunately, I cancelled my subscription after one day of trying the food. Pros: The food arrived on the day advertised, very well packaged and fresh. I liked the easy instructions, the presentation, and the tips on which ones to eat earlier in the week. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the personal note was a nice touch. Cons: The meals might work as starter kits, but they don't work as "heat and serve," unless you want a bland meal, and I'm no stranger to vegan and gluten free cooking. Example: one meal I tried was the mac and "cheese" with bbq jackfruit. The box had a base of cooked pasta and raw broccoli, a vegan cheese sauce to pour over after, and "bacon" bits topping. I followed the stovetop instructions and ended up with unseasoned pasta, some still raw broccoli, an underseasoned sauce, and a nice but too-sweet jackfruit bbq. For any food to really shine, each layer should be cooked and seasoned well on its own before the elements are combined. This doesn't happen here, and the sauces weren't nearly flavorful enough to overcome the bland base. For $16+ per serving (regular price without the discount), I expected a lot more. I have since cancelled my service because 1) Their gluten free pasta is awful (as gluten free pasta usually is), grainy and disgusting. 2) They send food items that are not as pictured (penne pasta rather than spaghetti, etc.) 3) They really do not offer enough variety. As a person with particular diet restrictions, they often have meals I cannot consume, so therefore I must get more of the meals that I can... which usually meant I had only two meals to choose from. 4) The distance and time it took to get the meals was just too long. It would take two full days to get them with the meals being prepared another day out. By the time I would get them, they were already three days old. 5) The meals are only refrigerated... and although that may seem "fresh", it actually is not good as, as stated above, the meals are already three days old. If they had vegetarian options rather than only vegan, if they shipped frozen, if they had more choices, I would reconsider. read more

WAY OVER priced and bland as hell. The food is fresh that's the only thing positive that I have to say. After I cancelled they sent me 12 more meals and tried to charge me for it. I had to threaten to have my financial insitution cancel the transaction. I will NOT pay for something I did not order and already cancelled and honistly, I'm throwing the meals away they're just NOT good. I choose to get them most of the weeks but not every week and sometimes I like to make the decision last minute, depending on what I have going on the week after. The deadline to skip or unskip a delivery is Tuesday end of day. But the "unskip" button never works on my phone and I'm not always by my computer. Please fix the issue, better yet, get an app! Hi Yelp Community! Today I will review Sprinly. Today I got my first meals and I was surprised on what I received. First I got my delivery on time as expected. It did not get delivered by mail. It was delivered by Sprintly staff. This name was Adam and he was very friendly and gave very important information about the meals. It was packaged in a very nice cooler. It had tag with my name on it. Inside of the cooler there was a pack of ice and my meals. While taking my meals out I found a hand made letter welcoming to the Sprintly. I want to eat more healthy and plant based foods, but miss the flavor when I try. It takes a chef and dietician to be able to make plant based meals balanced with fiber, vitamins, minerals AND flavor. I've found Sprinly does a great job offering this balance. I'm on my third week, on the 6 meal a week plan. This helps me from grabbing quick unhealthy lunches. And I don't have to spend hours shopping and prepping food for the week. Plus it would be difficult and likely more expensive to try and do it myself. There are other prepared meal services I've seen, but Sprinly does such a great job providing a flavorful delicious meal many of which are plant based, no added oil, no added salt, no gluten and no added sugar.
