From the online class component to the in-person instruction - it was all very easy to complete. I called twice in the days after I registered and Edward was available to answer my questions each time. He even provides the completion certificate within 24 hours of completion, sometimes even same-day. The in-person training was very useful and made me feel good to get the hands-on component to feel more confident. JDS's program, which is funded by the Inland Regional Center, is poorly managed by an executive director I found to be impatient, unpleasant, overly controlling, and easily annoyed. The executive director is also a blatant liar. She lied to me about details of a violent incident by a student that my son witnessed and said that my son was lying about it. However, my son had text messages from another student who also witnessed the incident and basically confirmed what my son told me. I filed a formal complaint about JDS and its executive director with the IRC. JDS had high staff turnover, too. My son told me that seven staff members left while he was there. One staff member who left is now working in the program that my son is currently in along with some former JDS students.
