They're just blatantly false…read more I've had two kids in this school since 2015 (one now in 8th grade at the middle school around the corner and one in 4th grade currently). Yes, Bev (the FORMER front office clerk) wasn't the most friendly person you run into but after my sons first year I had a great relationship with her. If you treat people with respect, you get respect in return. That's clear in some of these reviews that there was no rapport or relationship with any of these people and the school. Are you surprised the school told you no to pull your kid out because you missed them??? Wait 2 hours and enjoy them after school. The school doesn't owe you anything...ever...except to keep you child safe while they learn. And this school does both very well. Highly rated be Great Schools for a reason. My family has only ever had one teacher we didn't care for and her contract was not extended from what I understand. The staff and administration do care for these kids and do a wonderful job educating them both academically and socially. On May 1, 2026, two students admitted to using a school-issued iPad and Google Translate to program the device to say, "Amir is a N-word" out loud in the classroom in front of other students and staff. As a father, I expected an incident this serious to be handled with transparency, accountability, urgency, and concern for my son's well-being. Instead, I was left with more questions than answers. I had concerns about how the incident was officially classified, what consequences and protections were put in place, how the students would be separated from my son, how staff would prevent retaliation or additional harassment, and why my son could potentially be the one removed from a classroom if he felt uncomfortable rather than the students responsible for the incident. I was also disappointed with the lack of transparency surrounding the investigation. I was not provided the information I requested regarding the iPad, how the device was programmed, screenshots or messages, or other documentation related to the investigation. My experience communicating with the administration made the situation even worse. A meeting was changed to 8:30 AM without me receiving written notice, an email, phone call, text message, or updated calendar invitation. I was later told that I had verbally confirmed the change, which I disputed. When I attempted to address my concerns in person, I felt dismissed and disrespected. My experience with Principal Jenniffer Aynesworth was particularly disappointing. I felt that instead of having an open conversation with me as a concerned parent, my concerns were not given the attention they deserved. I was also frustrated that I was unable to have the conversation I was seeking with Assistant Principal Cassandra Grace regarding the situation. This was not about a minor disagreement between children. My son was specifically targeted with one of the most offensive racial slurs possible, using school-issued technology, in a school environment where he should have felt safe. As a parent, I expected the school to communicate clearly, provide transparency about what occurred, protect my child, hold those responsible accountable, and treat me with respect when I advocated for him. Based on my experience, I did not feel that standard was met. I hope Alamos Elementary and the district take situations like this seriously and improve how they communicate with parents and respond to incidents involving racial harassment. No parent should have to fight this hard simply to get answers and ensure their child feels safe at school.

This school is a nightmare for children who have disabilities. Not only does the staff neglect the…read moredisabled students, they harass and falsify information to their own benefits. Just so they don't have to help those students who are in need. All the while they put on the front of being caring staff. They fail time and time again to provide the 504 plans for students in a timely manner even with a doctors note stating the student needs to be on the plan. They violate HIPAA laws and the privacy of these students. Don't even get me started on the Joke they call a principal. They lie and discriminate against those students protected by the ADA act. They're quick to call CPS on parents of the disabled because they aren't equipped with the right training to teach behavioral skills to those who need it. Non Verbal children cannot communicate their needs through oral communication. Negligence runs high in their walls. they've even "misplaced" and lost children who are elopers. When they should have had a one on one AID with them the whole time! DO NOT send your children to Ysabel Barnet if they are disabled. Your children will suffer for it! The district is of zero help too!

As a former student at Antelope Hills Elementary, I can say that some of the staff can be cruel…read more I have two incidents I can recall while I was here. The first one was when I was in kindergarten, literally everyone was going behind the building, so I followed as a 5 year old child. The aide at the time yelled at only certain people and told us to put our clips down to red. In kindergarten, this is a big deal. Another incident I can recall was in 3rd grade at the library. I didn't know books at the time had built in bookmarks and I politely asked for the librarian to cut it off because I thought someone placed it there. She says to me rudely, "No!" and gave me a nasty look as she walked away. My brother also got bullied here for a while and they barely did anything. Other than those incidents and some more minor ones, school here was pretty fun and nice. Though, I heard one of the teachers here was a pedophile.

Chronic disorganization, ineffective leadership, and consistently poor communication defined nearly every interaction. Processes felt unclear, decisions felt arbitrary, and accountability felt nonexistent. The instability created by student/staff turnover only amplified these issues. A school environment should provide structure and confidence; instead, this one felt toxic, unpredictable and unnecessarily stressful. Over time, it became clear that the gap between what is presented and what is delivered is not incidental -- it is systemic. We withdrew our children and wish we had done so much sooner. Families considering enrollment should proceed with extreme caution.
