So, I've read these reviews. They're just blatantly false. I've had two kids in this school since 2015 (one now in 8th grade at the middle school around the corner and one in 4th grade currently). Yes, Bev (the FORMER front office clerk) wasn't the most friendly person you run into but after my sons first year I had a great relationship with her. If you treat people with respect, you get respect in return. That's clear in some of these reviews that there was no rapport or relationship with any of these people and the school. Are you surprised the school told you no to pull your kid out because you missed them??? Wait 2 hours and enjoy them after school. The school doesn't owe you anything...ever...except to keep you child safe while they learn. And this school does both very well. Highly rated be Great Schools for a reason. My family has only ever had one teacher we didn't care for and her contract was not extended from what I understand. The staff and administration do care for these kids and do a wonderful job educating them both academically and socially. My experience as a parent with Alamos Elementary School was extremely disappointing, particularly because of how a serious racial incident involving my son, Amir, was handled. On May 1, 2026, two students admitted to using a school-issued iPad and Google Translate to program the device to say, "Amir is a N-word" out loud in the classroom in front of other students and staff. As a father, I expected an incident this serious to be handled with transparency, accountability, urgency, and concern for my son's well-being. Instead, I was left with more questions than answers. I had concerns about how the incident was officially classified, what consequences and protections were put in place, how the students would be separated from my son, how staff would prevent retaliation or additional harassment, and why my son could potentially be the one removed from a classroom if he felt uncomfortable rather than the students responsible for the incident. I was also disappointed with the lack of transparency surrounding the investigation. I was not provided the information I requested regarding the iPad, how the device was programmed, screenshots or messages, or other documentation related to the investigation. My experience communicating with the administration made the situation even worse. A meeting was changed to 8:30 AM without me receiving written notice, an email, phone call, text message, or updated calendar invitation. I was later told that I had verbally confirmed the change, which I disputed. When I attempted to address my concerns in person, I felt dismissed and disrespected. My experience with Principal Jenniffer Aynesworth was particularly disappointing. I felt that instead of having an open conversation with me as a concerned parent, my concerns were not given the attention they deserved. I was also frustrated that I was unable to have the conversation I was seeking with Assistant Principal Cassandra Grace regarding the situation. This was not about a minor disagreement between children. My son was specifically targeted with one of the most offensive racial slurs possible, using school-issued technology, in a school environment where he should have felt safe. As a parent, I expected the school to communicate clearly, provide transparency about what occurred, protect my child, hold those responsible accountable, and treat me with respect when I advocated for him. Based on my experience, I did not feel that standard was met. I hope Alamos Elementary and the district take situations like this seriously and improve how they communicate with parents and respond to incidents involving racial harassment. No parent should have to fight this hard simply to get answers and ensure their child feels safe at school. read more

I would strongly caution parents, especially parents of color, before sending their children to Alamos Elementary School based on my family's recent experience. My 10-year-old son was the target of a verified racist incident where two students programmed a school-issued iPad to say "Amir is a N-word" out loud during class in front of students and staff. According to administration, the incident was confirmed and the students admitted to it. What has been most disappointing is not only the incident itself, but also the handling and communication afterward. When I initially contacted the school trying to get information regarding this serious situation, I was told by the front office that the Assistant Principal was out sick and that the Principal was not aware of or tracking the incident because it is "a big school." During my later conversation with Principal Jenniffer Aynesworth, I was informed that information was inaccurate. I also felt dismissed during my attempts to get answers as a concerned parent advocating for my child. Instead of immediately treating this situation with the seriousness it deserved, the communication was inconsistent and at times felt unprofessional. Principal Jenniffer Aynesworth further informed me that the school would not remove or relocate the students responsible "because of one student." I was also told that if my son felt uncomfortable remaining around the students involved, my son would instead be moved from the classroom. As a parent, that is unacceptable to me. A child who experiences racial harassment should not feel like they are the one being displaced while the students responsible remain comfortable in the same environment. This situation has emotionally affected my son deeply. He spent the night crying because he was hurt and struggling to understand why this happened to him. Parents deserve to know how situations involving racism, student safety, and parent concerns are handled before deciding where to send their children. read more

This school is amazing I love this school it has good teachers principles, and PE teachers.

The office staff is ridiculously rude. Any small question you have, they have a smart, rude answer for. No matter how respectful or nice you come off they're the worst. Denae, or dinay, (however her name is spelled) has an attitude problem & unless you give it right back to her she doesn't care to change her tone. With the no responses to these bad yelp reviews, it's evident they clearly do not care what people think & one could only wonder how they really treat our children when nobody's around. 0 stars if I could. read more

Alamos elementary school is great because all teachers are great and they teach you so much and there recess and lunch after they will dissmiss you by lunch tables and you go play at Wednesdays you go home at 1.00 so cool alamos if you see my post its from Giovanni gastelum. AMAZING staff, great programs, advanced curriculum, clean and beautiful, warm and welcoming, FUN events all year long, professional teachers and employees - and I honestly could not ask for more. This school is one that others should look to as an example for themselves. My 2nd grader just started here, and with special needs, I honestly was somewhat skeptical (especially with how many schools he has attended so far). But, after the most successful, helpful and gratifying IEP meeting I have EVER had, I can take a breath of air knowing I finally made the right educational choice for my son! I went to drop off cold lunch to my son today because I wanted an excuse to say hi to him as I hadn't seen him in a couple days because of being out of town for work and wanted to surprise him. As I walked into the front desk I asked the secretary if I could pull him out of class real quick to surprise him and she said no blatantly and so rudely. My husband went in for a incident that happened with our daughter and he showed up in his military uniform. The front office staff was so rude to him and kept trying to get him to leave since the principal and vice principal were walking the halls and apparently they said there was no way to get a hold of them. They kept telling him to leave his number and he would get a phone call that they could be gone for hours before they come back but he insisted that he would wait. After waiting almost an hour, my husband insisted on talking to the principle and the front staff kept demanding what for and he told them a situation he would like to talk to the principal about but he ended up with the vice principal, she was so rude and could care less what he was upset about because to her it didn't seem like a big deal and she made it very obvious she felt that way. After arguing with her about the situation she finally said she would look into it and talk to our daughter. We get a phone call later and she tells us she spoke with our child and the questions she asked her didn't make sense and there was no way from what she said would be true. It was very upsetting that she would basically day our daughter was a liar. I know that sometime children extend the truth a bit with certain stuff but the original statement of what the problem was true!! It was not handled and basically made not a big deal. I can't believe they treated my husband the way they did especially while in uniform! He felt so disrespected by the staff and the vice principal. It makes me question what they do in more serious situations if something were to happen to someone's child. read more

Love this school and the staff. My daughter only attended for one year but she loved it. She was with ms Hemrich who is a sweet teacher. She's new and has more learning to do as far as parent teacher communication overall my daughter loved it read more
