I'm not saying we are a Rancho Christian lifer, but I will say our experience in both the preschool and elementary school have been positive. After researching, talking to parents, and finally touring a couple of the Temecula schools, we enjoyed the fact that Rancho provided an environment that felt safe, enrichment classes that we felt were important (such as the arts), and also included a space for our kids to grow academically and spiritually. *PRESCHOOL REVIEW* We initially toured the preschool, since my daughter was not yet potty trained (and in order for her to proceed in her age level preschool, she would need to be fully potty trained). This wasn't entirely alarming since most preschools in the area have a "mandatory" deadline, which honestly can be stressful on parents. Both my kids "eased" into it; I've always believed that potty training should be a gentle transition and encouraged, not pushed. What set Rancho apart was the partnership that the admission team provided with us, recommending she start in the summer enrolled in the "Little Tots" program, which would provide her in a 3 month setting that eased her into the routine. Ms. Annalise was an amazing summer school teacher. She was in tune with what our daughter needed (especially since she was switching childcare). During the fall, she switched to Ms. Faith - another amazing teacher who also provided a safe potty environment. Soon enough, she was transitioned over to her grade level class with Ms. Jem and Ms. Shilpi. Three smooth transitions over the course of a year speaks volumes of the staff. She loved all of her teachers, and the app that the school uses - Brightwheel, provided a snapshot of their potty, eating and pix/videos for the day. The only thing I wish is that preschool and elementary somehow used the same platform to streamline communication and forms. Apps I had to download for the school are: -Blackbaud: for all application school forms, tuition/billing schedules, etc -Brightwheel: preschool only app for updates/communication -Band: Elementary school app for updates and communication Pros and Cons: Pros: -Rancho is an excellent communicator via Brightwheel/IG/FB/Email. It's easy to get a hold of someone via phone/Brightwheel, they are responsive which is important as a parent! -After a certain time in the morning, the entrance on the side of the school (closest to the preschool is closed), you will need to go to the front of the school and pass the guard check-in gate. I personally love this since there are measures in place to check any guest that comes in after a certain time. -Each parent/guardian is provided with a check in code. This is used to sign in and out of preschool at the front office. -Great school events and staff -Love that our daughter gets to see her brother (who attends elementary) at some of the school events! -Chapel: our daughter looks forward to chapel Wednesdays. Every preschooler has a blue chapel shirt; the service is age appropriate, while providing them with a spiritual baseline. Cons: -The exit gate isn't always closely monitored. There typically is staff around the area to keep an eye on anyone exiting (along with any kids trying to get out), but this could be better. -Summer school logistics was a little chaotic. And this comes from being a first time Rancho parent. We were unsure of where to go for early drop-off or late pickup. -Preschool feels siloed, I wish there was more cohesion between Preschool, Elementary and High School. Overall, we love the fact that our daughter has had a good experience with both the staff and her classmates. We feel that our voices are heard if there is ever an issue, and that for the most part administration is also visible and pleasant to communicate with! They're just blatantly false…read more I've had two kids in this school since 2015 (one now in 8th grade at the middle school around the corner and one in 4th grade currently). Yes, Bev (the FORMER front office clerk) wasn't the most friendly person you run into but after my sons first year I had a great relationship with her. If you treat people with respect, you get respect in return. That's clear in some of these reviews that there was no rapport or relationship with any of these people and the school. Are you surprised the school told you no to pull your kid out because you missed them??? Wait 2 hours and enjoy them after school. The school doesn't owe you anything...ever...except to keep you child safe while they learn. And this school does both very well. Highly rated be Great Schools for a reason. My family has only ever had one teacher we didn't care for and her contract was not extended from what I understand. The staff and administration do care for these kids and do a wonderful job educating them both academically and socially. On May 1, 2026, two students admitted to using a school-issued iPad and Google Translate to program the device to say, "Amir is a N-word" out loud in the classroom in front of other students and staff. As a father, I expected an incident this serious to be handled with transparency, accountability, urgency, and concern for my son's well-being. Instead, I was left with more questions than answers. I had concerns about how the incident was officially classified, what consequences and protections were put in place, how the students would be separated from my son, how staff would prevent retaliation or additional harassment, and why my son could potentially be the one removed from a classroom if he felt uncomfortable rather than the students responsible for the incident. I was also disappointed with the lack of transparency surrounding the investigation. I was not provided the information I requested regarding the iPad, how the device was programmed, screenshots or messages, or other documentation related to the investigation. My experience communicating with the administration made the situation even worse. A meeting was changed to 8:30 AM without me receiving written notice, an email, phone call, text message, or updated calendar invitation. I was later told that I had verbally confirmed the change, which I disputed. When I attempted to address my concerns in person, I felt dismissed and disrespected. My experience with Principal Jenniffer Aynesworth was particularly disappointing. I felt that instead of having an open conversation with me as a concerned parent, my concerns were not given the attention they deserved. I was also frustrated that I was unable to have the conversation I was seeking with Assistant Principal Cassandra Grace regarding the situation. This was not about a minor disagreement between children. My son was specifically targeted with one of the most offensive racial slurs possible, using school-issued technology, in a school environment where he should have felt safe. As a parent, I expected the school to communicate clearly, provide transparency about what occurred, protect my child, hold those responsible accountable, and treat me with respect when I advocated for him. Based on my experience, I did not feel that standard was met. I hope Alamos Elementary and the district take situations like this seriously and improve how they communicate with parents and respond to incidents involving racial harassment. No parent should have to fight this hard simply to get answers and ensure their child feels safe at school.

It is literally the nicest school staff you could imagine in too many ways to count. Special education Ms.cindys class…read more My son has (Moderate) autism and non verbal (he only knows a few words). He would come home with scratches/scrapes and I was never told how he got them. I would email ms.cindy and the respond was always that she'll ask who ever my son was with that day or she'll say that they don't remember seeing my son fall or anything. She would send my son home with a sweater that wasn't his sometimes, his water bottle went "missing" at school somehow, and when it came to IEP meetings she would schedule, but would forget to cancel or would try and act like I forgot we had an IEP meeting whenever she did. During the meetings she seemed unprepared. I now know never to sign an IEP until it's all in paper because teachers say one thing, but write another thing in the IEP. At the end of the school year she kept suggesting for my son to attend another school. Did I forget to mention she called cps claiming my son had belt marks, hand marks, and bruises on him? He didn't.

For my 8th grade graduation our class got to go on a Disney cruise to the Caribbean! Now that is cool! Our drama classes were excellent too.
