Springs brook park was my childhood. It was and still is a great place to meet up with and chat with friends, build sand castles, slide down the water slide, and play on the playground. That place never got old and it is where I learned how to swim through the life guard program there. It is definitely worth the price and it is free after 6 o'clock! Highly recommended! read more

Summery fun at Spring Brook Park - Huge man-made pond for swimming, spray park for the kids who love to run through the sprinklers, and an adjoining playground with swings, slides, a mini rock wall... This place is my newest infatuation. During the week, tickets are $7 per person (unless you're under 1)... Seems pricey, but you don't pay for parking like you do at the beach. Weekend tickets are $9 per person, but I feel the fee is worth it. Spring Brook Park has clean sand, cool water, a GREAT inexpensive snack bar, flushing toilets and changing area, showers to rinse off in, picnic tables in the shady woods with grills... I absolutely loved this place. My only negatives is I wish I had discovered this place sooner! Ha ha. It's a man-made pond surrounded by a sandy beach. One side is a great spray park and playground and on the other is the water slide. You must be 9 years old and a level 3 swimmer or have a certified life vest. If kids want to swim with floaties they can only swim with life jackets or arm bubbles, no back bubbles. There is a reasonably priced concession there with hotdogs, burgers, pizza, slush, etc. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty and they do routine safety checks, although I feel like 20 minutes is a bit much. My son started to get antsy after 10. He and I had a great time the entire day. We stayed for about 4 hours making the $7 per person fee worth it. There is some sand in the "pond" but that is to be expected as people walk into the water from the sand. And the sand didn't bother me. It was thicker than some local beaches but nothing horrible. The place seemed very clean to me and I even saw someone come in to clean up the bathroom at one point. I can't wait to return with my son again! read more

I came here for the first time yesterday. We came back today. This place is perfect! It has everything you need to have fun in the sun and is a great alternative to the beach. It has a man-made, filtered pond surrounded by sand, and a water splash park. The water is a nice temperature, and there are different depths for all ages and levels of swimmers. There are many life guards and they run daily water safety checks. Which makes me feel comfortable that they are doing everything they can to keep kids safe. I like that it's not too overcrowded, although I have not been there on a weekend. There are sunny areas as well as shady areas. They also offer bathrooms, a consession stand, and grills. Admission is $7 per person during the week and $10 on weekends. Kids under 1 are free. I do wish they offered a cheaper price for younger kids. But then again, I really don't think the price is unreasonable. And still a lot cheaper then I'd end up spending going to a beach. They also offer season passes. I look forward to spending a lot of time here this summer. read more

Such a disappointment that you can't visit now as a non resident without a membership. Family membership is almost $500 which is absoutely insane! I've been a ton as a kid myself, and went once with my own son before you needed a membership. We LOVED it, I wanted to go again the next summer and when I checked online the admission rules were all changed. I get that the water was bad because of crowding etc etc but the family pass is unafforadble. Or you can get a "limited" family pass for a little less but then it's only weekdays after 4pm and weekends. During the summer when the kids are home all day who wants to go after 4pm only?? Such a shame. They could have at LEAST made the full day family membership 200-300 for non members which I would find reasonable. Who is going to pay $500 bucks for a few short summer months at spring brook park, when you will probably go, what? 10 times TOPS? So irritating. Maybe if you are a family of 5 or 6 I could see that price point but we have 1 kid. We're a family of 3, they should price it based on how many "members" you're signing up... Since over crowding seems to be their main point as to why they changed things. read more

Great place for elementary school kids and younger. The swimming is the main event with wade in pool and sand for the kids to play in. They also have a splash pad, playground, kayaking, paddleboarding , sports equipment, minigolf, and concessions. What many reviewers do not understand is that Bedford taxes help pay for it so it is less expensive if you are a resident. read more

Totally worth the cost to get in, beautiful and clean. Lots for the kids 2 do, reasonably priced concession, lots of Lifeguards. We were there on a weekday and there was lots of room on the beach. Silly Willy the clown was there around 2, he was making balloon animals and doing a magic show. Wish I could go everyday and may even buy a pass 4 next year. read more

I took my 2 1/2 year old and 8 month old to Spring Brook this week for the first time. We had a BLAST! My 8 month old loved playing in the spray area with the soft fountains. It was great to have something for both kids. My only disappointment was the "adult only" swim. I understand the need for a break for the lifeguards and closing the pool for a few minutes to remind kids to use the restrooms. What I did not like about it is that the kids were still charged the same rate as the adults and were not allowed in the pool for the same amount of time. I would have liked to see the pool closed for everyone, or a reduced rate for children. I have to give 5 stars to the staff and lifeguards! I was very impressed by how they handled 2 missing children during the time we were there. They were quick, efficient, and professional. read more

This park is exactly what is wrong with the world: You are unable to buy - BUY - a daily admissions pass unless you are a resident of the Town of Bedford. Such elitist garbage. I happen to work in Bedford and it would be very convenient to bring my nephews there after work days in the summer, but because I don't live in the town, my money is apparently not good enough to buy daily admission. I especially appreciate that on their summer brochure it happily boasts a visit from the Lowell Spinners Canaligator: What if Lowell decided to only allow residents of Lowell to buy tickets for daily games, and otherwise you'd have to spend over $200 to have a fun day with your kids? Bedford clearly will let the Lowell "riffraff" in when it suits them. I was extremely disappointed to learn about the attitude of the park and called to vent my frustrations to my sister. My disappointment de-escalated very quickly when she informed me that she was pretty certain both of her boys had developed MRSA after visiting this facility that is supposed to be worth a $275 membership last summer. Thanks, but no thanks. Keep your park to yourself, Bedford - I'll stick to having fun at establishments that operate in a fair, non-exclusionary way. If I'm going to risk infection, bring on the Merrimack - at least I won't have to contend with snobbery as well. read more

I would never return, the sand is not sand but an icky hard sand with rocks and pebbles. The pool is filled with sand and the other visitors are just inconsiderate. The only nice area is the spray ground but not worth the $10 fee each person. I can't wait to shower, this place makes me feel itchy! read more

I have heard so many great things about this place and was excited to make this my #1 park for my 3yo this summer, but I just saw they are only open weekdays??? Why would they do that? Some parents work all week. That shouldn't mean our kids can't try out the nice spray parks on weekends. Why not do weekends and take a few weekdays to let the "water settle" or whatever their hope of achieving by closing on weekends. Maybe they are just saying that as a nice way to limit traffic?? They charge $10, even for a 1 year old. The place is small and they put too much chemical in the water. You can really smell the chlorine. Its not worth the $10. read more

We went here 1x last summer and it was an OKay experience for us. We paid the $25 family fee and was at swim area for about an hour until they kicked us out for swim lessons they had there. I thought, WTH, but whatever, there was a splash pool and play ground there also to keep my kids happy. The staff are useless to say the least. The teenagers at the front must hate their job, they are not friendly what-so-ever, but again....whatever. The life guards are useless. They sit around in groups and just chat about their lives for everyone to hear, again...whatever. Their waterslide was available for only 30minutes...WTH!! My kids had fun so it didnt really bother me. What bothered me was my experience today. I drove from Southern NH at noon (they open at 10), and the park was CLOSED due to it being overcrowded. They were only reserving it for members, kids with swim lessons, and Bedford residents and everyone else can go screw. I mentioned that I drove down all the way from NH but they didnt care. Apparently, they turned more than me away from NH. I was mad leaving seeing that there were many available parking spaces for family to go in or wait around 30mins or so. We left and punched our navigation in to go to Nara Park in Acton. 20 mins later, we were at Nara Park where there were a good amount of ppl there and we used the swim area the whole entire time without getting kicked out. In response to Nashua N, H' s review....... Get a grip! Where do you think you are going to Malibu? My family have been members of SBP for many years and guess what we have never been turned away. That is part of the membership. So if it upsets you so very much buy a membership. They are available at very reasonable costs for non residents. Secondly, if you are going to write a review get your facts straight. The entire pond is NEVER closed for swim lessons, only the section near the dock where the "useless lifeguards" as you call them teach hundreds of kids to swim every summer. The rest of the pond is always open. Is that side of the water different or are you just looking for something to complain about? As far as the useless lifeguards you so freely bash...I have witnessed 6 saves this summer alone for children whose parents were not watching them. I bet those parents wouldn't call them useless. I respect your freedom to have an opinion but I sincerely suggest you spend more than 1 day somewhere in order to write an intelligent, informed review. As far as Nara Park in Acton goes...I am sure they are very happy to have you. Of course, if they do not shut down when it becomes overcrowded it is a safety problem for everyone and of course I am sure you would agree that is the most important factor. SBP is awesome....the staff is awesome and anyone who enjoys just getting away for a few hours and being with family and friends should give it a try. Please be understanding that if it is 100 degrees 3 days in a row it may be overcrowded and shut down to non members for the safety of the patrons. So I read one review say the water was over treated but I'm a huge fan of the chlorine because in the summer, lakes and ponds have a raise in bacteria and parasites due to heat. I did not find the water OVER chlorinated at all! I'm estatic that its treated and tested! Another complaint was the thick sand. It is that way to try to keep the water from being cloudy so no one drowns because you can't see them under water! Also, they don't want kids throwing sand in the water for the same reason... Which was another review's complaint. I absolutely love it here! It's clean, safe and you can trust that they do what they can for safety! The sprinkler area is also a great addition and keeps the kiddos occupied! read more

My 4 yr old son loves this place. The only negative is that they make everyone get out of the water for a safety check followed by an adult swim. The safety check is very long and then they have the adult swim immediately after. Kids aren't allowed in the pool during this time. Adult swim? The majority of the people at this place have children, so why would they have an adult swim during the middle of the day? read more

Springs Brook Park is worth every cent you are charged to get in. While many complain about the admission price I challenge them to find a place that is cheaper with more to do. My family enjoys everything Springs Brook has to offer. In the hustle and bustle of this complicated life it is so nice to have a place so close to 'get away'. Of course there are rules, many of them.... but I would prefer to be somewhere there are rules, where my children are safe than the alternative. OK.... so the burgers don't compare to let's say McDonald's but please what do you expect. The director and staff are available at every moment for assistance to anyone who needs it. What some describe as mindless robots I see as focus. I don't expect the lifeguards to be my friend...I expect them to remain focused and do their jobs and this is exactly what I have seen every time I have visited SBP. As for the bored teenagers at the gate...again please what do you expect? Have you spent 5 minutes with a teenager lately? Today I questioned the director about the procedure when a patron is missing. At first it can seem quite scary but it is wonderful and all the staff should be commended for watching out for our children as if they were their own. The director also told me that the entire staff goes through extensive training every Tuesday morning, running drills for 'what if' situations. Let's face it that is what we need them for the 'what ifs'. As for the previous review that says SBP is only interested in the revenue...are you serious? Have you gone anywhere in this state recently that is more affordable...a movie? a Red Sox game? the beach? I think SBP does a great job keeping their costs down while not sacrificing staff. training or amenities. With all of this said no place is perfect and we all see things that can be inproved upon when we frequent public places. SBP gets my vote on being one of the best family places I have been to. I am not looking for perfection but instead a fun, safe family place where I can spend time with friends and family. This is what Springs Brook Park and it's exceptional director and staff offers to patrons. They should all be commended for their hard work. read more
