There is a long walk way and a couple of wide open, green spaces with a few trees. There's a long, paved pathway. I guess it gets only three stars because its parking lot is terrible. It's big enough, but it's unpaved and there are huge depressions in it, making it hard to drive through. The paved path is a mile long, which makes is good for an urban hike.

There is off-street parking available and if you walk a way's away, you'll see public lots. Small parking lot but if it is full, you can park on the next street. If you're looking at the lake, park on the street to the right of it. There is a floating dock to swim/walk out to. The water blocked off for swimming is not that deep. I think the deepest is probably 5 feet. They do have lifeguards on duty and a little snack shack. Water is clean for a lake and typically warm. There is a playground and a couple picnic tables. Not much shade. Kids are allowed to wear lifejackets, but that is all I recall seeing for flotation devices. They do have kayaks and I think paddle boots you can rent. Opens at 10 AM.

Beautiful! How can you rate a lake? Well there are a few things that come to mind: rest area, bug…read morepopulation, accessibility, and swim-ability. Rest: there are places all around the banks to plop down or set up some folding chairs. There is lots of tree coverage and shade around the lake. Bugs: Plenty. (I think they're primarily baby dragonflies because it's Spring and 'tis the season) Accessibility: There's a parking lot! (G-d bless the 21st century in which natural areas come with parking lots) It also is along the Narrow Gauge Rail-Trail so it's accessible by a bike/walk path. You do need to do a tiny 1-minute hike down a small hill to get to the lake. Swim-ability: Rules for swimming are unknown. I can tell you that right on the edge of the lake, it's a little scummy, so I'm not sure it's appealing/a good idea to do so. No trash though! All in all, a wonderful lake to visit, might not spend the day here, but still worth the pretty views.

It is an easy hiking trail with an accessible parking lot. The length of the loop trail is about one mile with marks. During the winter, the trail could be muddy after snow or rain. While it's great to swim in the water, i notice people are barbequing, grilling, smoking, vaping an playing loud music on the speakers. Even though there are notice boards saying not to. It would be good if DCR stations a few more staff members in the trails and beaches, to enforce the pond rules. The smell and sound was unbearable. It felt like a Las Vegas beach club. A very nice park tucked away in a Chelmsford neighborhood…read more There are 2 tennis courts, a baseball field, and a large lake with a small sandy beach and a kids play area designed like a huge colonial fort. Also basketball court (double rims, unfortunately) and a Coke machine by the court. Parking is wherever you can find a spot on the road, or if you go up by the tennis courts there is a small dirt area. Watch out for kids playing in the street as you're driving. Heavily populated, but we had no trouble using the courts. No lights, either, so make sure you go during the day. Overall a nice, private place to play tennis or bring your kids to a cool play area while you lounge on the little beach and look for crabs or skip stones. Rowboats and flotation devices allowed in lake, not sure about motorboats (doubtful).
