These apartments are nice, but overpriced for what they are. Overall I have been somewhat satisfied with them. The pros are that the layouts are workable, access to the building is nice with the keypad entry, the location is good, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The building is also very secure which is nice (although it would be great if they could put keypads in the garage too). Cons: I would say that they are definitely overpriced. And the market seems to agree. For some reason Equity keep listing units well above what they can reasonably expect for market rent and then they have to slash prices just to get them filled. Not sure why they haven't gotten the message yet that they just aren't worth $2300+ for a 1 bedroom unit. In this economy too, where people's budgets are stretched to the limits. There are a few issues with the building. For one the garbage facilities don't seem adequate. There is 1 garbage room and during the weekends, and especially over holiday weekends the garbage builds up and overflows. I can tell they try to keep up as best they can. But we really could use larger garbage facilities. They say to bring trash down to the garbage room if the chutes are full, but if everyone did that there would be absolutely no room to stand in the small garbage area. They don't have a recycling chute which is expected in newer builds like this. No loading elevator dedicated to resident moves. They also don't have many amenities. Their gym is fine, I use it regularly, it does the job but is nothing special though. They have a patio area that steals privacy from the surrounding units that I personally don't want to use because you're staring into someone else's living room when you use it. A clubhouse with not much in it. I would expect more for what I'm paying. The parking spaces are too small, like way too small and it's annoying to have to try and wedge your car in to park. Also, the garage door sometimes breaks. This happened when I was trying to make it to an appointment for work and it messed up my workflow and impacted my relationship with my client. They didn't let anyone know unless they asked. And then the text messages meant to inform us only got sent out after it was fixed. More than halfway through the day. I can confirm that occasionally the communication about maintenance happening on the patios of the 2nd floor does not get sent out on time. It can lead to privacy issues. My suggestions for the complex would be that they should reconsider how much they are trying to rent these units out for. It's just too much for what you get. The building is newer but not THAT new. The soundproofing and quality of the interior finishing aren't what you would expect of a luxury apartment, storage is minimal, and the building issues to boot. It feels like they built the building on a budget. They also seem to think it's acceptable to share staff between 2 communities. Meaning we get 1 day of the week where we are not staffed. For how much we pay...there is no excuse for not having someone here Monday-Saturday 9-5 in the office. I've missed deliveries because of it. And having to share staff with another building when I pay over 2k a month for rent feels like the management company is cheaping out on us. Otherwise happy with the unit I am in. If they don't raise my rent next renewal id be happy to stay. read more

This is definitely one of the best apartments I've lived in! The management is absolutely wonderful, Felipe helped us get all moved in and has always been our go to guy. He is always super friendly when we walk past the leasing office, and definitely made our experience great here. The apartment complex is definitely on the quieter side, most of the time when we take our dogs out we don't run into people on the elevator. I definitely recommend this complex! We have been living here for a year and are only moving because I got into school in Bellingham. read more

This review is pre-COVID; posting review now because we just pulled our credit reports & found that Springline fraudulently reported our account as being in collection (disputes filed with TransUnion). We lived at Springline while our home was being remodeled from July 2018-March of 2019. The common areas looked nice on the surface, but were rarely cleaned; I had to use my own vacuum in the lounge on the 2nd floor to get it presentable for my daughters party. Both under the couch cushions & the couch itself were so filthy it sounded like I was vacuuming a gravel pit. When we moved into our apartment the floors weren't clean either; my bare feet were covered in dust after walking on the non-carpeted surfaces. It also took them 3 months to put a screen on one of our bedroom window. My dog never had fleas until living at Springline & hasn't had them since we moved back home. But the kicker is that when we moved out, leaving the apartment far cleaner than it was when we moved in, they tried to charge us a cleaning & repair fee! There was no damage, when I asked Alejandra for proof of the damage she faxed a picture of a plain white wall- no damage. When I asked for a statement from her about the alleged damage (specifically that it was more "than ordinary wear and tear") signed under penalty of perjury, she ignored me but still sent the account to collections. When I requested the same from the collection agency I never heard from them again. But now I see that Springline reported the action to TransUnion & it's showing as an adverse action. This was an odd one for us - we have contacted admittedly quite a few apartments, and initially Springline responded to us promptly. They even followed up once we paused in our search. However, I emailed them like a month ago saying I would be back in contact with them because our move date changed. This weekend we filled out an online form for two tours. One virtual for Tuesday, and one in person for Saturday. We never received any confirmation for Tuesday and the day passed with no visit. I am assuming Saturday won't happen either. The silence was pretty weird after the timeliness from earlier contact, so we just moved on and chose a different apartment in the area. Leaving them with 3 stars for weird communication and I don't really love their location, but the price/layout was nice and they formally responded? ‍ Their reviews have also been all over the place, unsurprisingly. Specifically the renewal process has been atrocious. The management company has taken the renewal process out of the hands of the building, and is now done from a central office. My interactions with Richard have been condescending and filled with non-answers after 2 weeks of email back and forth. After living here for 6 years without any complaints or late payments, my rent is increasing more than 10% despite all of the issues listed in the previous review without any explanation from Richard on the renewal team. We love West Seattle but my husband and I really regret living here. It's so loud we feel like we're living in New York. From the endless traffic noise on this major arterial to the management's daily use of leaf blowers. I work at home and I often feel like I'm living next to a BMX rally. I also recently had to wait in the lobby of my building for an hour and a half because a SWAT team was doing business in the building. Actually, New York is probably not only quieter but safer than Springline apartments. If you value a bit of quiet and are not a fan of maybe becoming a victim of friendly fire while sitting in your own apartment, then look elsewhere. read more

Christian, at the leasing office has been most accommodating and knowledgeable about the property which was very reassuring. The property is very clean and quiet and everyone is respecting the social distancing which makes our family feel very safe here. The apartment is beautiful and amenities a pleasure, its well insulated so the temperature seems to stay stable and comfortable. The surrounding area really has everything needed within walking distance, big park, schools, selection of grocery stores. Wow, completely in awe with all the bad reviews--I can't imagine not enjoying living here unless you're just a naturally unhappy person. I have lived here since September 2018, under which time the building has been managed by Alejandra, Brandon, and Andre. Equity is doing something special with their hiring process--Alejandra and Brandon are the nicest (not fake nice), most genuine people I have met. I have traditionally had really terrible property management, and it was such a surprise to come here and learn that some property staff actually care! The only reason we're moving out is due to a sizable rent increase, but Alejandra did make a solid attempt to reduce it, and the rent matches all other comparable buildings, so that's not really a big deal. Everything that has gone wrong has been attended to immediately. We had someone smoking weed on the balcony above us (the smoke somehow gets sucked into our unit and makes the whole place stink, which our dogs really don't like), and it never happened again, which makes me think they talked to them and take it very seriously. We had some issues with the trash compactor making noise, and Alejandra emailed me first thing in the morning to let me know that Andre fixed it as soon as he came in (this was like 6am). We have not had trash compactor noise issues since then. Anything else that occurs--whether a package is late, a package needs to be picked up, I have massive items being delivered, etc. they have been super accommodating about receiving them or working with UPS to make sure packages are returned. The building is very quiet. We lived on the 2nd floor and could not hear a single thing from my next door neighbor. I did, however, hear a bit of noise from upstairs, but nothing too loud or disturbing, just heard a dog running around sometimes. You can also hear people in the hallways, or at least my dogs can, but the door is far enough away that it's not something I ever notice, and I work from home most days. I have zero noise complaints--many of the newer Equity buildings have concrete levels or walls, so that helps. The neighborhood is awesome. North Admiral is a very safe neighborhood full of lots of people walking their dogs. I loved it because I could always take the dogs out super late at night and not worry I'd run into any strange characters. I've done 2 mile walks with my dog all the way to the junction, and it is so peaceful to walk in the quiet neighborhoods that are just behind the Springline building. Of the team, Alejandra is a fun personality. She is great to talk to, and has only ever been super helpful. Brandon is super sweet, and will go out of his way to make sure everything's going well. You can tell they both genuinely want to do a good job and make sure residents are happy. Unfortunately, we're losing Brandon to another Equity building in Capitol Hill, but I'm sure Equity will somehow magically find another wonderful person, as they have a history of doing. Andre is always a joy to see in the halls. He even told us, if anyone gave us trouble about working on our motorcycles in the garage, to let him know. He is super laid back, always happy to help fix any maintenance concerns or answer any questions, and I really appreciated his attitude towards our bikes, as it's tough to maintain them when living in an apartment. He's always laughing and very genuine. I think that's the best thing about living here--everyone is nice, even the new maintenance guys that have been added to the team, and it all feels like a small family. I'll admit we never went to the events they organized, but they definitely do try to bring everyone together for community events, and it's nice that they care to. Yes, we had SWAT come at one point this year because a resident had barricaded himself in an apartment with a weapon. But what the hell is the property staff supposed to do about that? You can't really expect them to know that there's a crazy person living here, as crazy people can look pretty normal on paper, and they cannot control his actions. The community here doesn't have any weirdos otherwise--everyone is really polite and neighborly. If you're living in West Seattle and are OK with the rent pricing, this is an exceptional place to live, and I will always appreciate having lived here for the past year. Nothing to say about the security deposit as we only paid $99 as part of a promotion and that will be used to pay for a portion of the cleaning/painting fees. Someone mentioned late fees... there are none, as long as you pay your rent on time (if you're paying rent late, you kind of deserve the fees?). Another mentioned noise... that comes with city living. If you didn't want to live in the city, don't move here and then complain you're living in a noisy city. It takes maybe a month to get used to it as we moved from a suburb, but we hardly notice the street noise anymore. read more

Feeling compelled to update my review since I have had a complete experience of two years living there and have moved out. Having had circumstances taking me away from the lovely neighborhood of West Seattle I had to part ways with Springline. Such a sad day. This has been my best rental experience to date (evaluating against 8 other renting experiences in my life). Alejandra, Brandon and Andre are incredible at what they do. When I had a maintenance request. I received great communication and quick attendance to my issue by Andre. Alejandra went out of her way on several occasions to ensure my perishable packages were accessible to me and I really appreciated that. There was an unusual incident at Springline in the beginning of this year involving the SWAT team to intervene with a person that was a danger to themself. Brandon was able to put my mind at ease when I contacted the leasing office to make sure I was safe in my unit. From what I heard through other tenants, they were also communicated to when they asked the officers or Brandon about the status of the incident. It felt great to know that the staff and police were able to handle the situation. Along with the excellent customer service from the team, I really enjoyed the amenities of the community. My unit was near the rooftop deck and it was a lovely spot to entertain guests. Another thing to note is how quiet my unit was. A neighbor that shared a wall with me had a cat. He apologized for how much his cat meowed..I would never known he owned an animal had he not mentioned it! He was stunned I had never heard his cat. The main reason I have hopped on to update my review is that the move out process was easy and fair. The team at Springline were great with every step of the move out process! They were also incredibly fair with the security deposit. I could go on and on..I hope this helps anyone that is researching places to live in the area. read more

I have lived here for 2 years and have really enjoyed my time in building A. I have not personally experienced any issues since being here. The maintenance staff has always been very responsive, professional, and polite. The management staff says hello to me every time they see me and respond quickly to any questions I have had, whether submitted via email or by stopping in to the office. As with most relationships (and yes, community is a relationship) you get out of it what you put in. It always smells pretty pleasant, and overall is quite clean! I would recommend the West Seattle community and Springline to anyone! read more

We moved to the area and were looking into springline (full disclosure we needed something larger than what was available so didn't move forward with a unit) but Christian was so kind and attentive and helpful while we were new and looking at their units, and when we decided on something else he was still gracious about it. He took the time to talk about other units available and really went the extra mile to circle back with us. As others have reported, it went downhill once Equity took over. Beware of significant fees - late fees as well as when you end your lease, you don't have a chance of getting your deposit back. The owners seem to be very focused on the bottom line and not the residents. The staff is friendly but they don't have any say. When I was looking to relocate to Seattle for my job, Springline was the first placed I look at. I was so happy with the property, it's location, the surrounding business and the quiet residential feel of the Admiral neighborhood that it didn't take me long to decide it was perfect for what I was looking for. It's now been about a 1-1/2 since I've moved in and I have never felt anything but welcomed at Springline. Staff is GREAT, building is super pet friendly, apartments are very modern and CLEAN.
