We'd been on the road all day and hit more traffic than we'd expected. My three year old was definitely ready to be out of the car. Roanoke offered quite a few options as far as hotels go. So I called a few of the brands I prefer, including this one. This place offered us the best rate with my mom's senior discount. And I'm so glad we came here! The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. They set aside and even brought up the pack n play we'd requested. I was also able to snag an extra thick blanket for her. My little girl and I enjoyed the swimming pool. It's small, but not only did we have the place to ourselves, but it was so nice and WARM!! Loved it!! We got a room with two Queen beds. There was also a half wall to separate the beds from the couch and second TV. We put my daughter's pack n play over here so we wouldn't keep her awake. It was perfect! Our room was definitely clean and comfortable! Lastly, what a great hot breakfast! Scrambled eggs, Turkey sausage, pork sausage, coffee, tea, oatmeal, milk, yogurt, fruit cups, bananas, granola bars and I'm sure there's something else I haven't listed. We would definitely stay again!

Great location, fun lobby, clean hotel, comfortable beds. Love the large mirror in the bedroom. My parents were both born in Knoxville, Tennessee. My mom recently moved back. Me living in the Washington DC suburbs, we decided Roanoke as a weekend girls trip was perfect as it is half way between both. I found SpringHill Suites by Google. So glad it was the 1st hotel to pop up. The location is great. Not too far off of the highway. Mall and restaurant are a quick 6 minute drive. I booked us a suite, perfect size rooms for 4 of us. King beds were so comfortable as most Marriott beds are. Management was friendly. We had an issue with our remote as the last guest left their gaming remote and took the hotel television remote. Maintenance was up within minutes with a new remote. Hotel has a cute heated pool, fun bar in the lobby. Great Girls Weekend had by all!

I've stayed in 3 hotels back to back so far and each hotel doesn't clean the showers . Why is that ? So today I checked into my room , I've got to get some sleep and I get in the shower turn around and I find a bunch of hair on the wall .. WTF is up with washing the walls . Hell spray it down for god sakes . All Marriott properties so far !

Nice hotel that I was told has been recently renovated. Nice spacious rooms with a pleasant atmosphere. Convenient to the local hospitals, and there is easy access to the Roanoke River Greenway through a park across the street. From here, it's not a great distance to the downtown area but it is still relatively quiet. I would stay here again in the future, especially as they complete the renovation. The front desk staff were especially accommodating. The one real knock on this place is the exercise room, but it looks like they intend more work on it. Right now it is too humid (doesn't seem to be a good deal in the door to the pool area as it smells strongly like chlorine) and the AC is not up to snuff (I tried to cool it down at the wall thermostat to no avail). And while the cardio equipment looks to be in good shape (I didn't use it because I was hiking in the area), they were missing dumbbells between 5 and 30 lb. and the balance balls were going flat. This may have been a particularly deflating because I had just come from another Marriott property that had one of the best exercise areas that I had seen for a hotel that size. On the upside, this property had plenty of room (literally) in which to make its improvements. I suspect it will be much better the next time I am in the area.

I received a discount through an organization for a one night stay, which made it reasonable for my budget. The hotel has just been renovated. The lobby is spacious, modern looking, with large windows and a variety of couches, armchairs, and coffee tables. The suites have a good layout, a little less spacious than the other Marriott suites I've stayed, but sufficient for 1-2 guests. Bed is comfortable. If able, ask nicely for a view of the Mill Mountain so you can see (part of) the star that lights up at night. Service was great. I had to call front desk a couple of times and they immediately resolved any issues that I had. Breakfast leaves much to be desired. And I'll have to agree with others that the garage still needs a bit more work. Overall a great place to stay in Roanoke!

And The Maridor is the perfect example. This historic mansion, built in 1916 and restored many years later, received its name from its its third owner, Marion Augustus Smyth, President of National Business College who re-named the home "Maridor" after his two children, Marion and Dorothy. Maridor. It is located in the highly regarded area of the historic Grandin Village, in Roanoke, Virginia. Established in 1993, The Maridor offers a versatile event space for weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings. And also has a very unique restaurant that currently is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 4:00 to 9pm. One can book a reservation through their website to dine in either the Restaurant, the Bar, the Dining Room, or the Patio, and enjoy some excellent cuisine from Director and Executive Chef Seth who offers southern-style cooking with International comfort food flavors. What he has created is a place with a diverse menu, where one can go and dine in, enjoying the history of the house with some nice food and drinks at a reasonable price. With Seth's background in Asian cuisine from his Food Truck days, he created a menu with two sides: A West Side and an East Side, providing in it something for everyone's tastes. But his ultimate vision is to create unforgettable dining experiences that inspire and delight his guests. With this amazing background information, I was tempted to go try it out, and thought of all the other restaurants I had discovered in this same way. By driving by them several times until I decided it was time to go experience what's inside. I made a reservation for a Friday at 6:30 pm. When I arrived the house was so big I couldn't find thr entrance at first, but I phoned them and they told me I was at the right place and how to reach the front door. I was warmly greeted by a charming lady with a great personality and taking to the dining room of the house. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review for a better sense of the feel of this restaurant. I was seated at the table of my choice. My server Sharon had the bartender make me a Mocktail to start off with and I had a treat ordering from the menu. As the main course, the Beef Brisket Bao Buns, and for dessert, I later order their Maple Pecan Bourbon Bread Pudding. My server came to check on my at the right times and to fill me in with the History of this house and restaurant and I had a one of a kind dining experience. I highly recommend this place for a couple's night out, or to dine with family and friends. The place provides a comfortable yet distinguish environment in which to enjoy quality time with your loved ones.

These same items can be found upstairs in the boutique hotel. It was fun that you are allowed to have a glass of wine and chill in the lobby area next to the restaurant which is oh-so-comfortably decorated in their gorgeous furniture. I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful my room was. It was decorated so stylishly with absolutely not a touch of elegance overlooked. Stunning lighting fixtures, gorgeous textures, a comfortable sitting area, and lovely pieces of wooden furniture. The hardwood floors are simply to die for. They were my favorite part of the room. The bed was the single most comfortable bed I have ever stayed on in a hotel setting. It was like sleeping on a cloud surrounded in a hug from fairy wings. There is a communal area with snacks, couches and other places to gather or entertain a group. I really really really hope all future guests do their part to keep this place beautiful so that it remains a luxurious place to stay in the heart of downtown Roanoke. What an absolute gem. It feels like a betrayal to the amazing people who put their heart and soul into this hotel and restaurant to have a complaint. However, if I had one tiny suggestion to make, please put a table or a shelf or something in the bathroom. There is literally zero place to spread out toiletries and makeup. I used a towel on the floor to spread out my makeup in the morning. Not really a deal-breaker, but it's just a suggestion. And also to patrons, bring a hair dryer if you are going to use one. I did not find one in the room, but perhaps it was in a drawer or tucked away someplace I did not happen to see. Also, bring a sleep mask. Beautiful room with all the furniture from the Nordic furniture shop downstairs. Very tempting to buy a couch from the showroom downstairs! We ate at the restaurant, Stock downstairs. It was amazing, but keep in mind it is directly below room 6 and they don't close until around 11pm on the weekends and they stay about an hour after that to clean up. So you still may hear music and them moving chairs around while they clean up. We also stayed on a Friday night and some skateboarders decided to practice in the parking garage next door around 11:30 at night, but you are staying in the city so you have to expect things like that. Bathroom is beautiful with great water pressure in the shower. There is also a huge area to hang out in on the second floor if you need more space. If you like non-traditional hotel experiences, then add this one to your bucket list. 10-4!
