Hunting Hills Country Club - Golfers Loading up the Golf Carts

Hunting Hills Country Club

My nonprofit organization hosts an annual fundraising golf tournament every September, and Hunting…read moreHills Country Club has become a much-needed home for our event. For starters, the three directors I coordinate with to put our tournament together, Jordan, Maliah, and Matt, are excellent to work with. They are extremely professional and relate to their clients on a human level. They always demonstrate tireless flexibility in meeting our needs. Additionally, the prices to host our event through them have been reasonable. As for the facility, it is ideal for our fundraiser with its scenic views and a challenging, yet fun, golf course that all of our donors enjoy. Another area of praise to be given is the catering. The lunches they prepare are simply delicious. Some popular items are the roast-beef sandwiches, chicken ciabatta sandwiches, caesar salads, and cobb salads. So many of my golfers have praised their food selections. And so, after struggling to find a new country club that we can rely on, it has been a breath of fresh air to use Hunting Hills Country Club for our fundraising needs.

The club itself isn't that great and tbh smells more than a bit musty in places. The inside of the dining room is dated and from our 2 visits thus far, hit or miss with cleanliness (that's clearly an issue with the management and staff). However, Jake makes a phenomenal margarita and is a great ambassador for HHCC. Grayson is also a great ambassador and delivers omelets with great care. Finally, we haven't met him, but the Head Chef Clay Williams, is clearly exceptionally talented. He doesn't just deliver a great dining experience, he delivers delight. His hummus is excellent; the pasta dish we had was quite perfect (which is hard with bow tie pasta - it's almost always too oily). The bbq chicken wrap and fries were simply delicious. With the variety that we ordered, we feel pretty confident we have an understanding of the Chef's expertise. We'll be going back and we highly recommend dinners at HHCC when Chef Williams is in charge.

I expect that the conference rooms would be solid options to host meetings, if you work remotely or simply want a change in venue from your office, but the main atrium/front room provides a welcoming environment for a mix-and-mingle cocktail reception. We were able to arrange some tables for food, a self-serve bar, photo "booth" area, and both low chairs and high top tables for a variety of ways to connect. The double front doors provided an easy entry, with plenty of natural light, and we appreciated the private kitchenette area and separate individual bathrooms. Plenty of working spaces in the back of the building and convenient to post-party drinks and dining options. It was nice having a gas station around the corner for extra ice and the co-op next door to get extra drinks. Brad was great with getting us set on our own with the space. I highly recommend considering the Roanoke CoLab for your next small event or also to use during the working hours.

I stayed at this Holiday Inn property in Roanoke, Virginia for one night in March 2026. It was a…read moregood night stay here, even though I had to get up at 3am for my flight home. I initially booked this hotel through hotels.com and saw that they had an airport shuttle service. Only to find out at hotel check in that their airport shuttle service ran from 8am and my flight was at 6am the next morning. I was definitely disappointed but ordered an uber in advance anyway. With that said, this Holiday Inn property was nice, standard and typical of the way that Holiday Inn does its hotel business everyday. It doesn't disappoint when it comes to safety and security while being enjoyable and comfortable at the same time. I arrived here after my friend dropped me off with his rental car. I asked for a super early check in, since it was around 1:30pm. I lucked out and they had something available for me, so I didn't have to wait for 2 hours for standard check in time. Thanks Holiday Inn! I checked in and it took me about 2-3 minutes and I was on my way to the elevator with my room key in hand. There was a minor issue where my room key didn't work initially, so I sojourned back to the lobby and got my key card re-keyed. Then went back up to retry again. It worked after that. The rest of the stay here at this Roanoke Holiday inn was good and comfortable. Managed to grab ice from the machine and didn't have to walk far neither. It was nice, although the early morning wake up call the next day was not very fun but necessary. I'm sad that I didn't get a chance to participate in the morning breakfast that Holiday Inn provides its guests, since I left for the Roanoke airport at 4am for a 6am flight out of the area. Oh well, hopefully there will be a next time. The overall experience here at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood Roanoke was very and good at the same time. While the check in and out was fast and professional, not having the complimentary breakfast made me sad. The room itself was comfortable and clean. They assigned me a room on the 2nd floor with 2 queen beds. Everything worked properly during my stay including the large screen television. The tub and the shower worked good as well. It was nice that the shampoo and other health products was there for all things for bathing in style. The beds themselves were comfortable and it took me a bit to get comfortable before sleeping about 5 1/2 hours and then woken up at 3:15am for a 4am uber ride to the Roanoke regional airport. For the most part though, my stay here at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood Roanoke was a good one. They have WiFi, but I didn't use on my stay here. They also have an onsite restaurant, pool, and a fitness center, all three of them I didn't use. I wish I had known about the pool, so I could have helped my legs recover from that 50km foot race that I did the day before in Rocky Mount, Virginia. And so, if you wanted a comfortable hotel to sleep in and have airport shuttle service, consider staying here if your travels come thru Roanoke. Make sure to confirm that their airport shuttle service is available when you want it to be. Otherwise, you'll be having to grab an uber to get you to the airport like how I did. It's in a good location in Roanoke. Enjoy your stay! This Holiday Inn hotel is located adjacent to the Tanglewood Mall in the city of Roanoke, Virginia. It's physically beautiful and located at 4468 Starkey Road, Roanoke. Like many hotels in the industry, they accept major credit cards. Many book direct to the hotel website or through a third party, both of which needs a credit card for booking anyway. As far as parking goes, the hotel has a lot of free parking for paying guests. If you love public transportation, the Roanoke public transportation has the answer for you. From the airport, you'd take Route 26 to the third street bus terminal and wait for bus route 55 to Tanglewood Mall. Quite easy logistics. It'll take you around an hour in commute time, or you can call the hotel and inform them of your arrival and they can pick you up with their airport shuttle, when availability comes. Of course, there is always Uber and Lyft, if you require their services, like how I did with an early morning pick up. And so, if you enjoy coming to a hotel and having that luxury and comfort at an affordable price, consider staying at this Holiday Inn property in Roanoke/Tanglewood Mall. You'll be glad you did! Definitely recommend if your travels flows thru this area. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. Support local! B+
