The room is beautiful. So clean. Great location. However, the fragrance they use inside the Suites is unbearable. I have a slight allergy to fragrances and I walked into the room and the smell is so overpowering you can't focus on anything except the smell. Don't get me wrong it smells great, but it feels like you're swimming in a perfume bottle. The windows don't open, I'm sitting in the room with swollen eyes and my throat tastes like perfume. Just had a glorious 5 day stay here and would really rate it a 4.5! The bf and I decided to vacay in SoCal and join some family at Disneyland. I wasn't too keen on staying near Disneyland where the hotels would be getting lots of traffic and I can't say I trust the sanitizing process too much so I decided on the newly built Springhill Suites in Placentia/Fullerton that is 15-20 minutes to Disneyland WITHOUT traffic. Aside from the young gentleman who may have been new, or at least I hope he was new and operating on a learning curve, our stay was extremely nice and clean but there are just little things here and there that don't exactly make it a 5. PROS + Extremely clean - I was so nervous with COVID that I wiped down everything anyways, but to the naked eye everything was immaculate. + Super hot water and I mean scalding hot from 0 to 100 so watch out! The downside to this is there's a 5-7 second delay when you try to adjust the temp. + 15-20 minutes to Disneyland without traffic + Near lots of food places and even some popular ones like Mr. BBQ (kkbq with premium meat) and What's Up Men (ramen). Tons of fast food places within 5 minutes of the hotel: McDonalds, Sonic, In n Out, Del Taco, Jack in the Box + Lots of gas stations 5 minutes within the hotel + Target about 5 minutes from the hotel too so super helpful when I placed an order online and just picked up when we got to SoCal + Powerful mini fridge, microwave, and hair dryer + Check out time is 12 PM and check in time is 3 PM + Gym, pantry, pool available + Hand sanitizers installed in the lobby and on every floor right by the elevator + Pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash...Paul Mitchell brand so woah hello! + This is a pro but also a con but the AC is hella strong here. Unfortunately it's positioned right in front of the bed, you can't move it nor point it in a different direction so just hope whomever sleeps on that side of the bed doesn't mind that. CONS - $5 parking fee each day - Some may say walls are thin but I only heard vacuuming from housekeeping on our last morning - No good dining space in the room, there's a desk and one chair but no place to share a meal with another person or group so we noticed the lobby was packed with groups sharing meals - Bathroom is directly in front of the bed, separated by a sliding door, sooo if you're traveling with someone you're not super close to and you need to use the bathroom...bring some poo-pourri or Febreeze or something ya know? - Not a big deal but no large trash cans anywhere in the hotel so it wasn't easy to dispose our large take out containers - In the morning when lots of people shower, it really affects the water pressure so that was something minor for us as well The TV home screen is personalized and greets you with your name when you first check in so that was such a nice touch! read more

This hotel has roaches. Do not stay!! We were in town for the graduation and 3 out of the 4 rooms we booked had roaches (5th floor). The manager was really hard to get ahold of and when I finally did get ahold of him he said he would call me back numerous time and never did. I had to track him down. At that time over a week and a half later he continued to tell me he was a titanium elite and how I shouldn't post anything. I asked for a refund and all he offered was 50k points. As a pilot, I'm a little picky because I spend a lot of nights in hotels. This hotel is relatively new, it ticks all the boxes, but misses the mark in characteristic Marriott mediocrity. Springhill Fullerton experience follows a theme, 'We've given you all the things we promised, what more do you want'? This property is positioned close to Disney and Knotts. It aspires to be upscale, hitting $195 a night off-peak, and they charge $5 a day for unsecured outdoor parking, pushing the bill above $200/night. Sound insulation is quite effective, which you'll appreciate; the hotel seems rather jammed into a tiny parcel bordered by a busy freeway, rail freight line and industrial artery. There is no formal restaurant on the property or within walking distance. With designer colors and tile used in abundance, materials are low end, looking more Ikea than Architectural Digest. The elevator doors screech like scraping sheet metal, the room toilet paper roller was pulling away from the wall, despite the newness of the facility. Glass dividers between the bed and desk area rattle when you walk by and the entire room looks cramped, with too much furniture for the available space. The frosted glass bathroom door looked trendy but didn't provide much privacy, and the bright bathroom lights glare in the eyes of whoever is in bed. Multi-day-stays: be aware rooms are not made up daily, except on request, and even then they often forget. Front desk staff is competent but sullen if there is a problem; you feel they would rather be somewhere else and you're inconveniencing them. Frozen food and snacks are provided in the lobby "market", but prices are mislabeled in a bait-and-switch manner; some items seem reasonable but the front desk will bill you at full-Disney prices and they don't take cash. I recommend you bring your own snacks and food. Breakfast is provided, but they regularly run out of basic items and begin closing 15-20 minutes before advertised hours end. When I asked, they told me it was a supply chain issue, but I wonder if that was simply a convenient way to cover up poor management. I'll just say, if you want to get fed, get up early. I would characterize this property as Motel 6 for middle management business travelers, it overpromises and underperforms at this price point. Marriott could take a page from Hampton Inn & Suites, which serves the same market with better design, ergonomics and amenities, offering a near-concierge experience, all at 25% lower prices. If you can get a discounted room for $110/night, that would be the correct value-for-money price point for Springhill Suites Fullerton, otherwise, skip this property. Stayed here for 2 nights and we were extremely pleased. The hotel is new and everything is super clean and the staff very friendly. The rooms are spacious with walk-in closets, mini refrigerator and microwave and large TV. If you're a light sleeper the trains may bother you so make sure you request a room away from the tracks (if that even helps). They do charge $5 for parking. We have always stayed at the Marriott at CSUF and moving forward this will be our go-to hotel in the area. read more

I was trying to find a nice hotel to stay at when coming down to visit with friends and family. A lot of the hotels in the Anaheim area is either too expensive or the quality of the rooms are horrible. I came across this hotel and not only was it affordable, parking was affordable, but the rooms were nice as well! Staff is friendly and help with all issues. When I first checked in and got to my room the tv wasn't working and I asked one of cleaning people to help. They called maintenance and apparently the person before me had reset the tv to where they could play video games. It took a while for them to fix it but the maintenance person was very apologetic and was able to fix the problem. I enjoyed my stay with them. read more

The price was not bad, rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. However the front desk staff seemed to not appreciate their job. I was a little disappointed as I contacted the Marriott titanium line prior to booking as they were able to confirm they had electric vehicle chargers. I also called and confirmed and the representative from the front desk assured me they had chargers for electric vehicles, however upon arriving at the destination the only two chargers were out of service; not only were they shared with a handicap spot, but the front desk associate informed me when/if the network of the chargers were up I would have to relocate the vehicle to the only two non marked open spots which were occupied previously by non electric vehicles. There were roughly 5 handicap spots with two EV chargers sharing the space - the associate informed me I could not park there to charge since I had to reserve them for handicap (didn't matter anyway as the chargers were down lol). Pretty disappointed in my stay here, I don't think I'll be staying here again. read more

We're staying here for 3 nights. At the front desk it says to ask if you want housekeeping to service your room. So after the first night, since we had food in the garbages in our room, we asked for full service. We came home late that night to a made bed and assumed the room had been fully serviced and went to bed. Woke up to all the stinky food still in our garbages. Then went to take a shower and the shampoo dispenser was empty. Called the front desk to kindly ask if the room could be fully serviced today since it wasn't fully serviced yesterday and that we had rotting food in our trash. Their response was "we're super busy and can't get to that today. We'll come by and empty your trash but that's all we have time for." It's a brand new hotel so it's nice looking and in good shape which is why i still give it 3 stars - but I wouldn't recommend it for more than one night as they're not able to keep up with their service. read more

This hotel is uniquely situated by very loud train tracks and a freeway. These two things coincide for not awesome sleep. Also, the breakfast buffet is pretty anemic compared to a lot of other Marriotts. Room was clean. Pull out couch was too uncomfortable to use. No hand lotion. You have to request maid service despite almost all other Covid measures being gone. read more

Recently stayed at this location for the second time and will not be back. Both stays here the staff has not been great. While there they messed up our reservation which did not allow us to receive our elite night credits. Which was one of the main reasons for even booking a stay. This was probably one of the worst Marriott experiences we had and would not recommend. read more

I have never 'not' been allowed to change a card at checkout? If the card is being held for incidentals, it hasn't been charged...so every hotel will ask at checkout if you want to charge the card on file "OR" give you the opportunity to change it. I called Marriott directly and was told that this could definitely be done. When I checked in, Daniel at the front desk said no? In fact, he kept trying to show me policies that didn't say he couldn't as if I couldn't read. He was very condescending. I later spoke to Jesus, and he couldn't either. Then when I asked for his name he replied "you don't need my name?" Ok...so maybe the General Manager Robert Hussey is at least nice, right? Wrong! He was the most condescending of all. He didn't even want to listen and just acted as if his team did nothing wrong? At least his team takes his lead in customer service, and its obvious they have no leadership. Just very poor experience, and oddly, they are completely clueless in their lack of awareness and service. read more

Update: grab and go breakfast is a plastic wrapped muffin which husband did not enjoy. Apple. Granola bar. You could get fruit from the buffet area and it looked like cereal and maybe milk? I had no sleep the first night due to very loud freight train all night long shake the entire building. Also due to loud A/C unit. I would start to fall asleep and think it was an earthquake! Second night i slept but husband got no sleep due to train and A/c unit. Noted homeless camps with tents at side of the Hotel up the hillside. Hotel desk staff ignores you but masks make it difficult to assess-if they are irritated when interacting with you. Only got one pack of caffeinated coffee in our room there Were 3 of us. Husband requested caffeinated coffee we were given more decaf. He requested Again and was told they only had ONE caffeinated to give us. . Bring your own instant coffee? Not sure if coffee was available in breakfast area in lobby When took cushions off couch setting up trundle bed lots of crumbs?? In couch. Yuck This is a new hotel right next to Industrial very busy railroad tracks (double decker container trains going both directions very frequent) and right along the freeway. They charge $5 for parking but the parking is very very limited. If u leave to go out to dinner there likely will not be parking for u when You return. It is an industrial area with no street parking! So i guess park if u r lucky to get a spot and uber? Air conditioner unit is very loud. Breakfast is "grab and go" but I see a brand new nice breakfast buffet area so will update this once I experience the breakfast. The shampoos and soaps not individual packaging to me this is GROSS but I'm sure it is some idiotic new CA law. I have stayed here a handful of times and they are always amazing. This weekend 01/29/23 I stayed due to my grandmothers passing after suffering from dementia for several years. The lady at the desk, I believe her name is Raina was exceptional. She genuinely offered her condolences when asked what brought me there this weekend, then proceeded to give me 2 waters and a candy bar. While those items may be insignificant to some, that really made my day. Thankyou Raina and staff for being so compassionate. read more

This hotel is just plain bad. The location is terrible (located between a train and the freeway), they charge $5 a night for parking which is ridiculous and not noted when you reserve your room - this is not the city and no one else charges for parking in this area! The electricity is set on a timer, so unless you're jumping around the room, everything turns off every 10 minutes. Even the outlets turn off after 10 minutes, so you have to be very careful only to charge electronics on the outlets that are located on the upper part of the walls. If the outlet is on the lower part of the wall, it will turn off after 10 minutes. This feature was built into the hotel, and they say there is no way to change it. You can't just waive your hands around while seated to make the lights come back on, you have to get up and walk around to make that happen. But the light in the bathroom stays on permanently unless you turn it off. Same for the closet - those should be the rooms where motion detection should turn them on and off, not the main room! Also they will not clean your room until after you leave no matter how many days you stay. They don't provide soap or lotion in the bathroom. You have to go downstairs and request it and get it yourself. When the train goes by, it feels as if you're having a mini earthquake, even though I was not on the side facing the train! The elevator also shakes a lot so it is a bit scary since this hotel is relatively new - so why would the elevator be so shaky? Since there were two beds I was able to sleep in the bed that was not right next to the Air conditioner - it would be extremely cold and noisy for a person sleeping in the bed next to the AC unit. read more

Do not stay here ! Someone from the hotel staff used there master key card to enter our room twice during our stay once while my daughter was in the shower , the first time my wife asked them what they were doing entering our room with the do not disturb sign on the door ? They said it was an accident so that was understandable, but the next day my wife went to the gym downstairs and someone again entered the room but this time my daughter was in the shower with the door locked and the person was trying to pull the door open as my daughter yelled at him , he then ran out of the room and my daughter saw it was the same person! I arrived 15 minutes later and went to the front desk to report the incident, they didn't even care ! I then contacted Marriot and was told they would look into it and contact me with a few days , that was a month ago and still nothing. The hotel is trying to cover this up and I don't want someone to be attacked in this hotel so please be aware . I stay in Marriot hotels 50 plus nights a year so I know hotels and this one is scary . read more

After having a celebration of life for my mother in law who passed last year we arrived to our room where to come to find out we have a cricket. I called the front desk and all he could do was sympathize with me because there were no other rooms available. I tried capturing the cricket on my own without waking my wife and kids but to no avail, the cricket chippered all night and dad got no sleep even though we brought a noise machine to drown out the surrounding sounds. Besides the cricket noise the set up of the room was all wrong. I will not be staying here again and don't suggest it for my worst enemy. Bad all around. read more
