This hotel is right on the northeast corner of the I-40/US 491 interchange. We got a 4th floor room on the east side and didn't hear too much road noise. All the staff we interacted with were friendly! The suite was nice and spacious! The mini fridge kept our drinks and food cold. The bed was super comfy! Be careful stepping in/out of the shower, it's slippery! If management is reading this I'd recommend putting down some grip strips. The continental breakfast was filling! They had hot and cold offerings. The coffee was decent too! We'd definitely stay here again! read more

SWITCHED TO A DIFFERENT CHAIN AFTER A FEW BAD HAMPTON INNS ========================================================= The hotel was o.k., but the parking lot didn't seem that secure. There were signs that you park at your own risk. The hotel staff not very professional. One staff member parked their Dodge right at the entrance like it was their personal spot. One staff member was behind the counter in the her swimsuit doing something on the computer. She did have a towel partially wrapped around, but you have got to be kidding me. Some kind of Young Marine group was staying there, so regular guests had no room for breakfast. I asked a clerk for utencils and she had a major attitude. They don't have waffles. I think we'll stick with renovated Hampton Inns. read more

After day of hiking, it was nice to get a nights rest at SpringHill. Check in around 9PM, easy and convenient. Appreciated the request for a top room. The room itself was clean and inviting. The AC kept us cool all night. The shower had great pressure. The tub is a bit slippery. No rubber mats in the room. The complimentary breakfast was great as well. That day they served scrambled eggs and potatoes. Our favorite was the oatmeal bar. It had a great variety of toppings which was enjoyed. Coffee was okay. Plenty of tables. Clean tables. Overall we enjoyed our one night stay at the Springhill Suites. The rooms were very spacious, super clean, comfortable beds, affordable, good water pressure, good AC and located in an ok area. Customer service was excellent and breakfast was actually pretty good. They had a-lot to offer. read more

Reserved at the last minute on a road trip. No issues getting the room, and I didn't ask if I was getting or could get any of the free upgrades I should get with status. I usually get a bag of stuff including water, and when I asked for that, they let me take a couple bottles for free from the lobby. Daughter was excited for the indoor pool, picture uploaded. It was not only set up with tools, and chairs, but the water was even circulating. They said it was "closed for renovations" and wouldn't let us in. If you are closing the pool for renovations, at least make it look like you are doing something and not just wanting to avoid cleaning or monitoring the pool, which is what it appeared to be in this case. The room was pretty nice, though you could hear people walking and water running from the floor above. The breakfast buffet was pretty good - especially after just staying at the worst Residence Inn I've ever stayed at. read more

What's really strange is that I never got an apology from anyone! I even wrote letters to the top Marriott execs listed on elliott.com and . . . NOTHING! I realize my experience was a result of the astonishingly poor leadership by the site's General Manager, but Marriott leadership could/should have stepped in. If this all went consistently with my story thus far, I shouldn't be surprised if the GM is still at the hotel site. PATHETIC! read more

No warning on the reservation page. No explanation. Room priced at the same level as a hotel with a heated swimming pool and hot tub. read more

What a lovely room. My room was clean and decorated nicely. I loved the glass shower door, the complimentary tea, the fridge and being able to see my car from my second-story room. The lobby was very modern, clean, and smelled lovely. Breakfast was self-serve. I helped myself to a cup of oatmeal with the fixings and a cup of hot tea. Also available was fresh waffles and coffee. I was so pleased with the quality and details of this room. It was a class above the rest. I'll be looking for stays at Marriott hotels from now on. read more

Springhill Suites is new and a nice addition Gallup's economy and tourism with its new modern look. The lap pool and jacuzzi have ADA accessible enter & exit. I did not find the pool area inviting. Our suite was nice, however the futon couch/sleeper was the most uncomfortable couch I sat on. They do serve a hot complimentary breakfast. read more

Understaffed. Had to wait at front desk 15 mins before someone arrived to check me in. I asked the individual working the desk if they had EV charging - they didn't know. I got my key and went to the room. Key didn't work. Back down to the desk to remake it, and back up to the room. Noticed it was stuffy so I turned on the AC. Didn't work. Called down and the same person that checked me in, checked the unit. Apparently it was unplugged. TV did not have HD signal. It's 2025 and this room is $175/night. Shower temp was cold and the controls were missing. No one issue was significant, but a build up of small details for the price is unacceptable. read more

I was not able to leave a review on the Marriott site, but feel that it's important that I let other travelers know that this hotel is just not even close to the quality we expect when we stay at a Marriott product. First off, when we checked in, noone mentioned that none of the TV's in the entire hotel were not working. I just read reviews from folks who stayed there several weeks after us and it appears that the issue has not been resolved. So we spent some time trying to figure it out only to learn that there was nothing we could do. When we tried to call the front desk, the front desk key on the phone was broken. When I took a shower, I reached for the shampoo only to realize it was not there, it had broken off the wall and never been replaced. There were more issues, ranging from the shower heads to the breakfast. Would sadly not recommend. read more

We had a great experience with the manager, Bernadette. She not only did she give us the perfect room, but she personally ran something down to us that we were willing go get at the front desk. After checking out and driving for hours, we discovered that we had left without my husband's dob kit was still in our hotel room. We called saying we wouldn't be back in the area for a month+ and were told that the policy is 30 days- we were coming back in 31 or 32. We called Bernadette and she personally set the kit in her office, as we came through on her day off. Hope y'all already know what a wonderful, caring person she is! read more

Very disappointing compared to other Marriott properties. Being a Titanium carried zero weight, not even an acknowledgement of reaching highest level unlike other Marriott hotels. No normal complimentary upgrade from two queens to king bed room (even though available) without extra cost. Then my wife stepped on an oreo under her bed so it makes you wonder what else wasn't clean. Definitely will not stay at this place again or recommend to anyone. read more

If you find yourself in Gallup, this is a nice place to stay. The staff were all extremely friendly!! My room was very nice and clean. The hotel lobby and such was clean as well. The breakfast smelled and looked good, but I just grabbed an orange on my way out. Would I stay here again? Yes, if I found myself in Gallup. However I can say Gallup is not the best area. The crime rate for the area is high. Obviously the hotel can't control that and the hotel is doing a great job despite that. read more

Hotel is surprisingly modern with lots of clean lined. Rooms were nicely decorated with West Elm furniture. I expected a clean hotel as it looked very new and I got what I was expecting. Bed in comfy. Nice with working area separated by glass from the "bedroom". Working area also has a large sitting area with a couch/trundle bed, microwave and refrigerator. I opened the microwave one night after just going downstairs for a microwaveable dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find a plate and utensils. Room has a smart TV which is a nice touch. They serve free breakfast and staff is very friendly. Parking is free and they have a great sign with a cat crossing. There are several fast food restaurants within walking distance for a quick bite to eat. read more

Besides all the homeless and the high chances of being shanked when walking out to your vehicle in the morning I would give the location a 0. Clean room, nice blackout curtains, and very spacious for what I needed just to sleep for the night. My only qualm was that the side door I parked next to was inoperative so I had to walk all the way around to the front door and it was freezing cold! This Vegas girl isn't used to all that. Not a good hotel. That's it. We had 3 chairs stolen from homeless people early early in the morning. We got there around 12:45am and it wasn't completely booked like all the other hotels. We only needed to stay about 5-6 hours and just get some rest. Luckily we only had about $400 worth chairs stolen. altogether we had about $7,000 worth of stuff in the back of our truck for a trip. If you are going to stay here, park and leave your stuff in the front of the hotel and put valuable items in your car/truck. We walked out back of the hotel to try and find our chairs and a bunch of homeless people started abandoning the wash area. You could tell they jumped the wall because there was foot prints all over behind the wall by our truck. The security guard only went through the front a one side of the hotel. Over all I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel or at any hotel in Gallup, New Mexico. read more

The place looks great, kind of like a staged home does, and the bed is as comfortable as a staged home bed. Felt like there was a mattress pad on a box spring. We had 2 queen beds and people on both beds jokingly fell back on the beds and both said, "ouch WTH" in unison. Also the amenities aren't accurate, they close at 10, not midnight. Customer service- LOL , the person we dealt with could care less. We drove to gallup instead of Flagstaff so could drive a few more hours and still enjoy the pool and hot tub. We got to the hotel right at 10 pm told the kids to go gets suits on and the desk person says, no its closed for the night. I tell her the pool open until midnight is the only reason we are staying here and she says, "yes, our website is wrong, we haven't got it changed yet. You can talk to the manager tomorrow morning after 8." I am leaving by 7. I tell her how we just drove 15 hours after burying my mother yesterday, have been looking forward to it and my back is killing me, can we just have 20 minutes? No go, didn't even think about it and I won't consider this place again. read more

I had stay for 2 nights while road tripping the southwest. I got a great deal for this place on priceline and it appeared super nice (it's a pretty touristy town and not much there). Upon arrival, the hotel looks brand new! And the inside even smells brand new. I arrived late and was greeted by a friendly host. That was definitely a good sign. Now I'll lay out some things I found great about this place: The room: it was spacious, modern, and clean. With nice comfy beds, a couch that turns into a bed, and has a pull out underneath... you could host 6 people in 1 room! The room also comes with a smart TV and a desk. Great for people traveling on business and people like me, who live on Netflix. The bathroom is also super cute! And they provide Paul Mitchell products. The breakfast: as a vegan, I don't usually expect to eat the free breakfast at hotels, but they had many options for me! I was impressed with the overall spread but I had bagels, bread, jelly and peanut butter, lots of fresh cute fruit, they even had soymilk for coffee or granola! If I'm in the area, I would visit this place again in a heartbeat! read more

A young man who does night security here helped my 72 year old mother and I when we got a flat tire after dark. It was raining but he selflessly came out and replaced the flat with a donut tire. After the clean rooms, great service from the breakfast attendant, and the AMAZING housekeepers my hat is off to this young man. He asked all the right questions and made sure we were taken care of. This place is creepy and bizzare. It has really gone downhill since we stayed here last October, also passing through. Chad was the manager then, always smiling and laughing. Free coffee, decent music. Took the edge off the creep factor of this location. Ever been to a place that just gives you a really bad vibe? That's Gallup. We drove through this area again last night and stayed a night. Our room was over the hotel laundry room and shook all morning. The room smelled stale and musty and the shower had pink mold in it. We got in very late, the nighttime manager was really nice and gave us late check out. I didn't sleep well, got out of bed at 10 to find no coffee in the lobby. Apparently new management thinks it's ok to skimp on this. If I'm paying $100+ a night to stay here I expect a cup of coffee when I get up, damn it! I had to trek back up to our room with a loud toddler to make coffee in my room (with no milk or tea option) and woke up my husband who slept 4 hours and has a long drive today. Don't chain hotels have to follow certain standards? For example ALL Springhill suites we've ever stayed at (which is abundant as we are platinum members) offer hot drinks ALL DAY and night. Why is this hotel allowed to carry the Marriott Springhill name and not abide by this? Bizarre. I mean all McDonald's have the same menu, all Gap stores carry the same merchandise. Why is this different? In fact the entire place is creepy, weird, bizarre... employees walk around miserable and look half dead, the music is solemn and strange. To top it all off, a customer in the lobby had a tea-cup chihuahua, a "service dog" and my toddler pointed to the dog, from 6-7 feet away saying "dog," and the customer (who appeared to be living there...again, creepy!) yelled at her and told her the dog would bite her! First, this was not a service dog. Service dogs are trained not to bite! People who do this make me sick, breaking rules to bring a pet when there are people who stay at these pet free hotels due to anaphylactic allergy (like my older daughter). And when there are people in true need of service dogs for real disabilities. Sickening. The guy was so nasty too. Hotels really need to ask for documentation for service animals as this abuse of service is out of control. The late night employee was super nice and the daytime employee (had a british(?) accent) was nice enough but not that friendly. The maintenance guy was really friendly too. One nice thing we saw was that they put food out for neighborhood cats and bird feeders for the birds. Really cool. It's too bad they don't treat their paying customers as well as the stray animals. We spent a few days in Gallup for my birthday and ended up staying at Springhill Suites by Marriott. The rooms were super clean and nice, but the best part of our stay was dealing with the front desk supervisor, Anton Vanniekerk. He was extremely professional, kind and uber accommodating. It's always nice when you're visiting another town to be made to feel like you're at home and that's what Anton did for our family. I would recommend staying here when in Gallup. Very poor management. Pulled up to a full parking lot with a car and trailer parked horizontally taking up 4 spaces. They have a huge area in the back and side that were available also & a massive dirt lot 100% open. I took a photo of the individuals vehicle because of the bizarre nature of it. For no one else but myself. So while checking in at the front desk and I was verbally attacked by the owner of the vehicle and his wife. He came right up to me in an aggressive manor. I said not one thing to him. Nothing was touched or moved I just took a picture from the middle of the isle. And moved on. I finally told him to let the front desk lady finish checking me in and to leave me alone. (She did absolutely nothing) He then walks away with his wife and phones up management. Management then phones my room after I am trying to relax. (Like a parent of a small child) And stats that 'because of me they had to comp his room.' No you comp'd the room because like myself You didn't want to be verbally attacked as he was doing to everyone. The way that it was handled just shows that this is not a place where you can just "have a great night sleep" Please stop harassing your paying costumers for something a child should be mature enough to handle. read more

The front desk attendant was so helpful, friendly and kind. He found us the last 2 bed hotel room. The accommodations are immaculate. The free, hot breakfast was amazing. Perfectly quiet to sleep. Traveling through, this placed looked like a decent stop. The rooms were decent, the desk staff was helpful. Lets talk about the elephant in the room, the continental breakfast! This was a huge let down granted it was free, but still... The eggs were like eating rubber, the fruit was in sad shape. The orange juice had a nasty after taste... we have stayed here before about 8 months ago, and the continental breakfast was good. They have definitely gone to a cheaper lower quality food. The plates they had to serve it on actually tore they were so cheap...This is super disappointing. Hopefully it gets better... we may give it a try again. Terrible customer service the General manager refused to admit the rooms were dirty despite photos. Charged my credit card when we didn't even stay at the hotel. Do not stay here.
