Don't understand some of the comments here, but can't dispute their experience either. Stayed here for two nights on a business trip. For a seven year old hotel, the place shows remarkably well. Common areas are nice. I never had breakfast but each morning many others were. The bar was a great touch and well attended and stocked. Cheryl was great behind the bar. Front desk was good as well. Friendly and always smiling. Christian was excellent. My room was large, clean and comfortable. The partitioned workspace/living area was nice. Shower had good pressure and temperature. Finally, there are 6-7 restaurants in the parking lot or adjacent and safe to walk to. I'll stay here again. Don't hesitate. read more

We have stayed here twice in the past two weeks and had problems both times. The first time the A/C and refrigerator didn't work. This time we purchased a king room and when we arrived they moved us to a double queen room. We requested to move but they said the hotel was sold out. So, now we'll never stay here again. read more

Hair! After traveling all day all I wanted to do is sleep until I found a huge ball of hair in our bed. I did get fresh sheets for both beds from the front desk. The bathroom floor was also sticky for some reason. read more

This relatively new Amarillo establishment is almost completely outside the city on the west side. It is in a very nice part of town and close to many eating establishments, both chains and local joints. The staff is friendly and the hotel is extremely clean. The suites are spacious and well-designed. The amenities and layouts make for a great long-term stay. Both the highway and main drags are close, and you can get to local tourist attractions such as Cadillac Ranch and Palo Duro Canyon very quickly. Great deal for the price! read more

Overnight stay to break up the drive from Santa Fe, NM. Rooms were clean and comfortable, which is all we needed. The pool was closed which was disappointing but that seems to be the case at many places lately. Bar area was also closed because the front desk staff had to act as the bartender and it was a busy night. The desk staff was pleasant. Breakfast included was fresh and hot, with Quiche a nice change from scrambled eggs. The outdoor seating area is worn out, peeling and dirty, needs replaced. Easy to find that's the good, but at night when I tried to sleep .. the traffic noise was a major nuisance .. I wonder if next time we should ask for a room not directly facing the highway but the other side. Super nice room, sitting area, comfortable bed, coffee, refrigerator, iron, hairdryer, love the bathroom except that the shower leaked, hence the 4 stars. Great in house bar with TV, and wall to "create" a message - write on the board, complete with colors and backgrounds. They had complementary breakfast - coffee, juice choices, fruit, bread, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, and waffles. Outdoor pool and fitness room. Would stay here again. Clean and new hotel! Out of all the Marriott hotels my bf has taken me to, this one was the more modern-looking ones. PARKING They have their private lot all to themselves for their guest to park at. LOCATION What a prime location this is! It's surrounded by a shopping mall, many restaurants, an IMAX movie theater, and so much more. It's very good if you want to have a little distance from the airport. SERVICE Everyone was very kind and professional. Since this is a new hotel, some workers are still new to their job and didn't know how to answer some of our questions. It'll take some time. ROOMS Very very clean with a modern look. They lose one star because when I was taking a shower, as are so many people at 9pm, their water pressure decreased a lot. It was a struggle to take a proper shower with only a few drips. Other than that, the pressure came back up later on. BREAKFAST Free breakfast, very good. Similar to all the other hotels. POOL They said it's a lap pool.. but was that big in my opinion. Stayed there at the end of January overnight off the highway, it's conveniently located from interstate 40. The staff were really nice and I am a Marriott goldmember which means I stay at Marriott's quite a bit. This Fairfield is part of their operations in a new place with a nice bar in it we can get cocktails and beer and wine and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. It has the usual good stuff of make your own waffles sausage scrambled eggs fresh fruit things like that. The rooms our new or have been remodeled so they're nice clean with a modern touch. Unites mini refrigerator coffee maker and TV like all of them but everything was working just fine and very clean. As I said I was impressed with the staff in their willingness to try to help me in any way they could. The Hotel was great and made for a relaxing overnight stay. read more

When I called into this hotel and Ashley immediately answered the phone. She was sweet, helpful, and calmed my nerves with helping me book a room here. I mentioned over the phone that I had been driving nonstop for the last 10 hours and was excited to have place to shower, rest, and maybe grab a bite to eat next door. When I came in, she inquired if I've eaten yet and quickly made me something from the kitchen. I'm so impressed with how she was able to quickly get me into my room, while making me feel so welcomed in Texas and simultaneously laughing at my bad jokes. Can't wait to come back! read more

What a wonderful hotel. This was our first time to stay here and this was one of the most comfortable rooms we have had for the price. We have stayed in hotels much more expensive that wasn't this nice. The room was so spacious and laid out beautifully. You walk into a little sitting room with a small table that sits in front of a sliding window that divides the bedroom from the sitting room. There is a footstool long enough to accommodate probably three people. My husband really liked the sofa and was able to get work done at the table. The bed has a light and a small reading light built into the headboard on each side. My husband likes to read in bed and he especially loved the reading light. I could sleep while he read. I must say the bed was the most comfortable we have slept in. My husband has trouble sleeping in hotel beds. (Can you say, Princess and the Pea! Lol) I must say, it was as comfortable as ours at home and my husband slept like a prince! The bathroom was a long room with the toilet on one end and the shower on the other. I loved the adjustable shower head (it actually worked) and the mixing valve was on the opposite end of the shower so you didn't have to reach under the water to adjust the water temp. The shower was nice and I enjoyed my shower. The only problem was the water ran thru the door causing a puddle of water in the bathroom floor almost to the toilet. The door probably just needs adjusting. For such a small bathroom, there was plenty of room to move around. The layout of our room was totally different from any hotel we have ever stayed at and we loved it. We will certainly stay here again. We didn't try breakfast as we had to leave without eating there. But if it was as nice as everything else, I bet it was delicious. If you are in Amarillo and are on I40, be sure and stay at this hotel. You won't regret it. read more

We stopped here on our way home from Mississippi to California and after a long day of travel we needed a nice quiet place to sleep for the night (especially after driving through a horrible Texan rain/lightning storm). Oscar greeted us with a smile and made us feel relaxed almost immediately! We were impressed with the look of the hotel, the bowl of lollipops at check in (honestly that made my night because it means so much more to get a sweet treat than a cheap little mint). We were so impressed with the look of the room, the luggage carts (I know it's silly but the luggage cart is a major thing for us), the comfort of the bed and the amazing little touch of having a trundle bed under the couch. One thing.... its amazing that it's a dog friendly hotel however we did find some dog kibble on the floor (not that big of a deal for us since we are big dog lovers and I normally travel with my therapy dog). I was so impressed with the first impression of this hotel that I had to post my review almost immediately after getting to my room. I will update my review after breakfast. read more

My young kids & I have stayed here twice now traveling through & it's been perfect both times. Phenomenal staff. Has everything you'd typically look for... very clean, quiet, comfy beds, temp control, lots of space. The rooms have nice modern furniture & decor. My 6 yr old boy walked in & said "this is the most beautiful-est hotel I've ever stayed in" (cheap thrills lol) & also that he would like his room at the new house to be decorated just like our hotel room. Wow, where do I start on how this hotel sucks. We stayed here because it has an outdoor pool. I normally stay at the Courtyard 100 ft away. My wife came on my business trip and was going to lounge by the pool while I was out. Oh, wait. The pool is closed. The clueless desk clerk doesn't know why. My guess, one less thing to deal with and let's blame it on the Covid situation. It is an outdoor pool!! Wtf. The tv situation is abysmal. It takes 10 seconds for the station to change every time. Maddening! To freezes up after a few stations on channel surfing. No HBO though the station says HBO. No Netflix, though every SpringHill Suites ever has Netflix. Again, clueless desk clerk doesn't know why. But wait, the tv offers screen mirroring so I can watch from my mobile devices that don't suck. Oh, no apparently though a Samsung tv, it won't work with my Samsung phone. Ok, maybe my IPaD. Nooooo. You want a comfortable room temp? Good luck. Eco friendly thermostat. Code for my room never gets cool at night. On the positive side, the room was clean and nice. Final note....you couldn't pay me to stay here or ever recommend this hotel. I'm Titanium Elite with Marriott and am in a lot of hotels every year. Marriott should remove their affiliation with this low budget craphole. I stayed at a Motel 6 last year due to a booking mistake on my part. That was a much better experience than this place and at a third of the cost. read more

No one Marriott is ever alike. Stayed here for 3 nights. Pros: - Front desk was extremely helpful with accommodations. When we had questions or concerns, they handled it promptly and in a friendly manner. - Love how there is a Book of Mormon as well as a Bible in the drawer to read. - Modern furnishings and decor. You just wave your card over your room door and shazam it's unlocked! - Has a small gym available Cons: - Little pricey considering the fact the hotel is not very different than many other chain hotels - No free wi-fi. Only for members... Overall it was a good stay. We would most likely not stay here again if we were ever to be in the area again. I mean it's a decent hotel but a part of me feels it's not really worth the price. You usually get what you pay for when it comes to hotels and in my opinion, we could have had a little more... and heads up, the doors do lock at 10pm and front door locks at 12am. So if the front desk people don't see you, I'd advise giving a light knock on the glass or call and let them know you're outside waiting. read more

This is a review for my second visit to this location. It is newly-built in a city that has nearly every imaginable brand of hotel. It is a very nice option as it is easy to get to from I-40. Everything is brand new so that means some of the kinks have not yet been worked out. Our shower leaked like a tsunami across the bathroom floor and the internet was unusable as we could not stay connected consistently. No option to connect to Netflix here and the lack of internet means no connecting the Roku either. This aggravates my husband. On the positive side, our room was really spacious and comfortable. All guest services people were super friendly and accommodating including adding points to our Marriott account for the leaky shower. The breakfast buffet was adequate. I would have enjoyed some Greek yogurt (only diet yogurt) and a fruit choice other than cantaloupe. No green tea and no gluten free options. Breakfast area is cheery. News to watch on 2 tv's and kids' programming on the tv's at the bar area. read more

Worst Marriott experience ever. The stay in the SpringHill Suites in Amarillo was probably the worst Marriott experience I ever had. For the first three days, the water in the shower was only room temperature. Every morning I did report the fact to the front desk person who ensured me that the item would be on the maintenance agenda for the day. And every evening nothing happened. Finally I had to grab the maintenance person in the hallway and talk to him. He met mi in the room within a few minutes and adjusted the temperature setting. I tried to talk to the general manager on several occasions but was always told he was somewhere in the hotel but not available right now. The second more concerning incident was the I came back from work and found my room door propped open and a sheet and towel on the floor in the doorway. The room was empty, no one was there. I decide to leave the door propped open and wait in the room. About 20 minutes later a person from housekeeping showed up, looked into the room, saw me sitting there and said: "Did they leave that here?" and then proceeded with picking up the two items and closing the door without any further comments. I notified the front desk again of the incident and was told they would inform the general manager, who again was not available for me to talk to. The last incident was on the checkout day. When I had the bill printed out I noticed the first days rate was $32 higher than the rest of the days. When I asked why this was I was told that the govt. rate was not available that day. My protest that at check-in I was asked for my company and ID for the govt. rate was ignored and I was told there was nothing to be done about it, and I could take it up with the general manager, who was not available at the time. I was told that he would be in at 7:00. I left for home and called the hotel at 7:30 and was told that the general manager would not be in until 10:30. When I called at 11:00 I was told the manager was in a meeting and would call back. Now, 3 hours later, I still have not received a phone call. Personally I believe this is one of the most unprofessional behavior I have ever seen exhibited in a Marriott hotel. Aside from the for me inappropriate business practices, I see a serious safety and security concern with the practice of leaving guest rooms propped open while unattended for over 20 minutes. read more

We stayed there one night and liked the hotel until the next morning. When we went to use the shower it didn't work! We were told they turned the water off to work on the shower plumbing. We were delayed by 1.5 hours and missed our lunch appointement. I asked to speak to the manager about this and was told she (Tabitha) would call me. It has been 3 days and I have not heard from her. I am a long time Marriott guest and expect better. Maintenance like this should be done in the middle of the night or mid-afternoon, not in the morning when guests need to use the shower. I have noticed several other reviews where people have complained about the showers. It is too bad, because the hotel is fairly new and nice. read more

Our room was a king suite on the 2nd floor, top notch as far as cleanliness, water pressure, comfortable bed, and amenities. Worth every penny. Warning! The worst hotel you will ever stay at! The bathroom is the worst followed by the management! I traveled with my adult son to visit an ill relative in the hospital - the bathroom has a sliding "barn door" with a see through glass which offers NO Privacy. I called to complain and was offered two suggestions, a blanket over the door that fell off every time in use and another room key was "given" to me to use the bathroom for privacy and unbeknownst to me, I was charged for this too!! When I called the corporate office, NO help was given and I was routed back to a terrible management group at the hotel. This place is a money trap! Incidentally, the plumbing is terrible! The hotel needs to emphasize, Families not welcomed. Ideal for couples and individuals only because the rooms are not suited for family use. read more

I am really bummed I am only here for 1 night. I just checked in and the front desk staff was very friendly and got me right in. My room is great! I'm guessing this is the new design for Spring Hill Suites... they really did an amazing job with the design. I will be heading down to the bar for a happy hour that starts at 7pm. If you are coming to Amarillo just for the night or for a longer stay, this is where you need to stay. Also... water pressure was great on the 4th floor, and connecting to internet was simple. The hotel is beautiful. The lobby was clean and inviting. We have stayed here before and out room was clean, smelt great and was well taken care of. However this Sunday, June 6th I was highly disappointed. First off, we were put in a king suite on the 4th floor all the way at the opposite end of the elevator. Upon entering the room I noticed it didn't smell as fresh as the other times we've stayed there. The headboard was dusty, the soap dish had soap scum on it from a previous guest and the over all feel was not very inviting. I'm hoping this was a one time thing and that we just got a room cleaned by an inexperienced housekeeper. We will stay there again since our past experiences have been outstanding but I was highly disappointed by this stay. read more

Not a good stay at all. As I have now read in other reviews I too had a river in the bathroom after a lukewarm shower. No real control over room temperature. A bowling ally upstairs. And by far the WORST tv situation I've ever had in a hotel. The channel list has the channels the cause the tv to freeze highlighted so that helps. No Netflix even though the website says it's included. The channels that work are not all HD and very limited. ABC is the only major network station that works FOX not even an option. The room is nice and clean but after that it's a disaster. read more

Well, the room was very nice and I have no complaints about that. However the management and staff is poorly trained. It took them more than two hours to figure out how to get my iPhones connected to their Wi-Fi. The breakfast buffet was poorly stocked and wasn't replenish when they were people waiting for food. There were no luggage carts in the morning yet they seemed uninterested in finding a way to get my luggage to my car. read more

After driving 12 1/2 hours from Las Vegas to Amarillo and getting to the hotel about 1:15am, I was never happier to see a hotel. And it appeared to be new. It was in beautiful shape. There are plenty of decent restaurants around within walking distance and the parking lot is well lit. Now, I will get to the negatives, as soon as I walked in, a lady was on her computer, sitting on the guest couch and appeared to be very comfortable and she said, in a rather curt voice, "Can I help you?" I kind of looked around for a second and I said, "Excuse me?" Said again, "Can I help you?" I replied, "I have a reservation for Treat." She put her activities down and walked behind the desk. I tried some slight humor given the hour, but she didn't engage, she just asked if I wanted something from the market place or points and then told me my room number. That was it. No thank you, no thank you for being platinum elite like just about every other place. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought she was the one that just drove 12 1/2 hours. I parked, got my stuff and went back in, and she was back on the couch doing her own thing. I went up to my room. The room was nice and clean. However, the noise from I-40 was VERY pronounced. I was awoken several times with semi trucks and even better, sirens a few times. I could not get the room cool enough, or keep the fan on to drown out the noise or make it cooler, and on top of that, I only got about 4 1/2 hours of good sleep thanks to all the noise and a VERY uncomfortable mattress. I do not anticipate being back in Amarillo any time soon, but if for some reason I am, I will definitely be staying at another property. This one will not get anymore business from me. I will say the lady who checked me out this morning was much nicer and much more business like. read more

Hotels.com messed up our reservations. After being on the road for many hours, the last thing you want is to have problems with your hotel reservation. I want to applaud and appreciate the front desk staff - Oscar and Nicole for going above and beyond to help us sort out the problem with Hotels.com. It took almost Oscar almost 2 hours of trying to explain the situation to different Hotels.com staff and being put on hold before the matter was resolved while trying to check in other guests at the same time.
