we have had spring green for many many years. the last 2 years have been a disaster. we had something that killed one whole section of grass in our yard. after many many calls they did come to fix it. this year they over sprayed in sections where we had weeks growing (in a yard that has maintenance service and should have zero weeds) and they "over sprayed" their words.... and killed about 15 patches of our lawn. we asked and they said they'd come back and fix them. they didn't. then we called to inquire and were told "they've done enough for us and bent over backwards for us". just a heads up... something has changed. our lawn was always incredible. idk what changed. very disappointed. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I am pretty sure their mis-application of fertilizer weed killer did this. Then when my wife showed them, they said I needed to aerate and overseed. It would only cost $90 plus they would throw in free the seed. Wow. What nice guys. Look elsewhere for real experts. I can't believe I talked some neighbors into their service. We've used Trugreen in the past but decided to go with Springgreen for new house after 3 months and 3 treatment we still had weeds and actually new ones. I called and was told it was the season for those specific weeds but my neighbor did not have them and he had no treatment. Instead suggesting that they come treat the new and existing weeds( which is what I paid them to do in the first place) they kept sending me new invoices but not completing the work. Now I get a bill from collections agency and still never received what I already paid for WEED CONTROL. read more

I am cancelling my subscription for all lawn services for very poor customer service. This is the 3rd time Spring Green has come to our house and sprayed our lawn without notifying us beforehand. This is important because each visit the service technician has sprayed our newly planted grass, therefore killing the new grass. As a professional service technician, I would think they would identify newly planted grass and therefore know not to spray it with chemicals. All of this could have been avoided if Spring Green had (1) notified me beforehand of the service visit to my house and (2) train their service technicians on why it important to not spray weed control and fertilizer on newly planted grass. I called the customer service representative at (630) 553-9003 and she was not helpful and implied that it was my fault for not notifying Spring Green ahead of time. Really, I think a good business practice would be for the company that I am paying for services to notify me ahead of time prior to their visit. I did not receive a phone call, e-mail, or a knock on the door on the day of the visit. The customer service representative stated that this was because of COVID. How does COVID prevent an e-mail being sent to me or a phone call to me notifying me of the visit? That doesn't even make sense!! read more

Spring Green has been very reliable and my grass looks good. They call me the day before to let me know they will be servicing my lawn weather permitting. I prepaid the first year and didn't know it was an automatic renewal for the next spring so keep that in mind. They offer a discount if you prepay. read more

I'd give them a zero if I could. Every year they fail to spray the same part of my yard, even though I've told them where the boundaries are. Then I call to have them respray; sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. This year they didn't. When I called to cancel the service they couldn't care less.There are weeds and dandelions all over my yard, even where I saw them spraying. It's pretty much the same as flushing your money down the toilet, except the toilet would be more appreciative of your business than Spring Green. read more

I like to support local business and have used Spring Green for 10+ years with no problems. Just this year it doesn't even look like they are spraying my lawn. I have weeds, the lawn is thin and patchy, terrible color. I left a message about my concerns thinking someone would call me back. No call. Finally I called them back. They were very unapologetic and rude. Blamed the weather. They are going to respray for free but I will be switching to someone else. read more

Our lawn was a mess following the removal of three trees and the planting of four young trees. We went with Spring Green to see if we could get the lawn looking decent again and also get rid of numerous growths of weeds. So far we've been hugely satisfied with both the service and the results. Spring Green has been doing a good job at our house for several years. Their employees are diligent in their work and very polite.

I have used Yorkville Spring Green 3 or 4 times for broad leaf and crab grass control in my yard. Early this spring I paid for crab grass pre emergence control and as summer progressed I find that I have more crab grass than ever. I called 2 weeks ago to Spring Green to complain and a very nice lady said she would have them come back to treat the crab grass directly. Yesterday, while sitting out on my back deck trying to kill varmints raiding my garden, and enjoying the summer morning, I see a man walking my back lot, followed by what appeared to me to be sneaking, along behind my bushes next to my garden as he worked his way toward the house. Suddenly after he sees me, he starts reading me off about his rights under Illinois law and feeling threatened because I had a gun. By now I see that he's the Spring Green guy, so I explained that if he had knocked on my door first, he would not have felt threatened, because I would have put the gun away before answering the door. I even showed him the empty chamber of the gun, as he continued to rant. Then I asked him if he had any concern for how I might feel as I watched him zigzagging through my 2.5 acre lot behind bushes, unannounced. He said, "I will go knock now. (?????) So while I'm putting the gun away, I hear him pounding on my front door as hard as he possibly could, while ringing the door bell at the same time. It sounded like he was hitting my door with a sledge hammer. By now I figure out that this fool certainly does NOT feel threatened, but in fact, is trying desperately to promote a stupid response from me because he knows he messed up. After telling me he's not going to do anything about my crab grass, he proceeds to tell me about his "moral responsibilities", so I told him in terms he could understand, to get off the property. After he left, I found that my door no longer closes properly. I called the office and asked if I could speak with the owner. The response from the manager was, "I'm not sure", so I hung up and sent an email requesting same. Today I got a call from the owner, who basically took his employees side with the response that his application person had a right to feel threatened, and he would do nothing about my damaged door because it was probably damaged before, and we should part company. There were no apologies, no regrets, no admissions of improper training, nothing. So now I have a yard full of crab grass and a damaged front storm door. Tree and lawn PROFESSIONALS? Customer satisfaction? I think NOT! read more
