I picked up plants from 2 nurseries. Saved him time and me money. ( It is later in the year and I had a hard time finding everything at one.) He suggested Hinsdale Nursery whose size of shrubs were amazing. Also had luck at Wasco in St. Charles. I placed where I wanted them and J&C had everything planted and mulched in half a day. They also removed 3 older (large) shrubs. They are VERY hard workers and Javier couldn't be nicer to work with. Always wants to make sure the customer is happy with the job. Responds by text within very reasonable amount of time (you need to consider the day and time you are texting as he is doing work also). Nice weather the first time (in 70's) This second project is re-grading a path and laying stepping stones. Also adding sod where necessary and blending with the other lawn in the area that is not being replaced. The weather is horribly hot and humid (in the 90's) and they are doing a great job. Once I told him that we were in no rush, and would be happy to wait, he proceeded to text back and forth with me helping me get an idea as to what the job might cost. He made recommendations about plants, etc....and all this without officially having secured my business. Towards the end of July, I reached back out to see what his timeline looked like. My parents started using them about fifteen years ago and now many of their neighbors and friends use them as well. They have always taken the time to come out and discuss plans on our schedule, worked out competitive estimates and we have always been happy with the work. As there always is in landscaping projects, problems have come up. Mark and Lee(who is now retired) have always done their best to resolve the issues as quickly as possible. They now do regular lawn maintenance at my house; mowing, fertalizing and seasonal cleanup. Mark has been very helpful and knowlegable about what to do with my hilly and heavily shaded yard. Last year we added new plants, removed a ton of ugly stone around the house and put down new mulch in one day. The yard was a mess while they worked on it, but by the end of the day it looked beautiful and they even washed down the driveway. Last year, my wife and I went to look at some of the brick patios they have done recently and were very impressed. Straight, flat, and designed well, including barrier walls and a fireplace.
