    Union station in Springfield Massachusetts

Downstairs is clean but seating is uncomfortable if your there long. Part of the outside train area looks like a bomb went off while the other side looks modernized. Anyway there's also greyhound and Peter Pan buses that stop there so if your train is late grab one of those bus lines.

The place looks spanking new and I know I've been here about 5 years ago. They seem to really keep this place clean. The station house CT Train, Peter Pan, and Amtrak. But don't expect to see the train schedule written on the Schedule Board. Also there is a Subway, Dunkin Donuts and Variety Shop locates inside for your connivence. The location of the train station is a historical landmark claiming Springfield is the Railroad Crossroads of New England. In addition there is a separate not so nice looking waiting area for Amtrak located upstairs. A remarkable difference from the main lobby.

    Clean bathrooms!

I love the station's renovation. I use the PVTA on a regular basis and am always impressed with the layout and history of the old station.

    Springfield Bus Terminal - whew!

    Springfield Bus Terminal

I gotta agree with the other reviewers...this bus terminal looks like it hasn't been updated...or…read moreeven cleaned since 1978. But I dare you to find any bus depot anywhere that looks much better. (seriously, I had an hour layover at the Philadelphia bus terminal a few years ago and a sleeping homeless man sitting next to me choked on his tongue...and no one reacted) Look, if you're going to take the bus anywhere around here...you're probably going to have to go through Springfield. So just breathe through your mouth, don't make eye contact with anyone and only use the restroom if its an absolute necessity.

A giant lightning bolt should come down from the heavens and rid the world of this cesspool…read more This bus station is on the top ten list of worst places in new england to be. Ever. Period. If the confusing bus terminals, and lack of necessary transfer information, and the employees who are totally clueless and unwilling to help aren't enough... Throw in... A CRAP TON of loitering. There were teenagers EVERYWHERE. In the bus terminals, in front of the building, inside the building... just hanging out. Some of them had babies, some did not. Some of them passed by and handed each other things and left (use your imagination)... Where was the Security, you ask? Walking right by them. Sometimes shooting the shit with them... they all seemed to be buddy-buddy. The facility was nasty, unkempt, smelly, but unfortunately, it is a major bus connection for Greyhound and Peter Pan... so if you want to get North on a bus... you will be forced into a layover at this dump.

Several weeks ago, after the death of my 94-year-old father, I hired and PAID Youth on the Move…read more(YOTM) to transport my 84-year-old wheelchair-bound mother from her nursing home to my father's funeral. After several follow-up calls which spoke to confirmation of the service (paid in full), YOTM never picked up my mother, never responded to multiple calls placed during the memorial, and never contacted us with any explanation. Two days after the funeral, they finally called. I spoke with Rose Froneberger (who had taken my credit card info on two different occasions) and Janice Brown (the owner). Neither of them could provide a legitimate explanation for this gross breach of contract, and neither of them showed remorse nor offered any kind of apology. What YOTM did do was use my credit card information for thousands of dollars of unauthorized purchases, for which there is unequivocal proof. YOTM is currently under investigation for credit card fraud and identity theft. And while thankfully all of the fraudulent charges can be reversed, irreparable emotional damage was done to our family and friends, and my mother was never able to attend the funeral of her husband of 61 years. This "company" has zero ethics, zero empathy, and deserves zero future business. Their actions were reprehensible and criminal. This company deserves "no stars," but I must select at least 1 star in order to post a review.
