So many young people, junior golfers with their parents, couples, seniors and even super seniors. This course has close to 400 members and stays booked all the time. Even so the Super and the crew do a fantastic job of keeping this course in top shape. The greens are exceptional, running fast and true they are always a challenge. This week I experienced a first. I was standing on the hill beside the fairway bunker on the right about 140 yards out. On the green, I saw what I thought was a head cover. My approach shot landed right beside it and all of a sudden it starts moving. That's no headcover and as I got closer, I realized it was a massive Snapping Turtle. It's been weeks since a rain and in a drought this guy somehow got off his path and was looking for some water. From my pic you can see Eric, the Ranger with a sand rake trying to get him into the near by creek. We don't get Gators in the upland but we sure get some big Snappers!

Most importantly, the food was just OK. Sure, it filled my stomach, but didn't taste fresh, not far from tasting like it was microwaved. I also had to wait a while to be seated and find someone that even worked there, which surprised me because I practically had the restaurant to myself (also surprising to me on a Sunday but I guess golfers get out in the morning and don't stick around for dinner). Not that this is a big deal at all, but I also didn't need to be dressed up as it seemed more like a pub restaurant inside rather than a grand country club feel. The waitress was kind and talkative, so no issues there, but overall I wouldn't need to try it out again for food. I can't speak for the golfing aspect.

I…read morepaid $20 to play the 9 holes twice, but the experience was so bad that I feel like I threw my money away. The tee boxes/mats were in really bad condition. Additionally, the placement of hole 3's tee box was incredibly confusing AND dangerous. Hole 3's tee box is in the direct line of those teeing off hole 9. As for the putting greens, oh my goodness, they were horrific. They were covered with so many golf ball-sized green broccoli head growths.. so my putts bounced and zigzagged. It was really annoying. Oh, and the hole cups were giant. In other words, you can't practice anything: no speed, distance, or control. You won't be leaving a better golfer at all. It's extra sad because this establishment has so much potential. Actually, I don't know. There's A LOT that needs fixing. :(

The clubhouse and range where nice, but it was not until I rolled some putts on the putting green that my hopes started to rise. They had bent grass that was smooth and blazing fast. The staff were all great. Very friendly and everything you'd hope for at any level course. The course is fantastic. I'd say it has about 3 semi weak holes and even those were fun to play. The overall condition was excellent. The green were amazingly good. The sand in some of the green side bunkers were just ok, but in every other respect this track was so enjoyable to play. The views were stunning. My only regret was my choice of tees. I'm a low handicap senior. I chose the blue tees, which would have been fine with summer roll, but the course proved a bit too tough for me given the softer fall / winter conditions. Don't make my stupid mistake. I can't wait to return to this terrific golf course.

This impacted our service and was used as the reason that no one had been over to our table. A simple acknowledgment to just say you see us, you'll be right back... anything... would be better than ignoring us. Dad got up to request a server, was advised of the private party and someone would be right over. Enter Valerie... our run-ragged server. (Do believe it was sincere?- I'm from NY and would hate to think it was overkill and disingenuous) I'm in love with the Mac n cheese here - disappointed that it was cold but still delicious. This is the club house for the golf course- ample parking- bar area that boasts live music many days of the week, couple different dining spaces and as mentioned, larger room to host private events. I'm thinking just after open, I'll breeze in and out. Not so fast, the place was already getting busy. When I parked I saw some high-end sports cars parked right in front, all backed in so the trunks were easy access to the sidewalk and just steps from the front door. That was the clue there were some experienced golfers on-site and there were. Several young men, it looked like a league and they had already ordered their cold beverages and were swinging away and getting festive. When it's December, cold and rainy, this is the place for the golfer who just has to get out and swing. I quickly got my gift card and boom I was out the door. So once you put in how many times it took you to the ball in the hole it records it and you log it at eat station. I love the decorations! Both courses laboratory and conservatory had a different theme and it was very dope. I like how all of this was put inside of the building, almost gave like a museum feel; very fun, welcoming, and entertaining. I also like the two interactive station which the courses first you got to take a picture and second you got to take a boomerang and you got to send it right to you phone for memories! I can't wait to go back here! Great for date nights, night out, or family days as well! 10/10 highly recommended!

Walking to play, the floors were sticky from drink spills. In theory, having bars on the courses is a great idea, but in practice it slows everything down. If the group ahead of you doesn't enter their score, the game stalls unless someone from the next group inputs it or a staff member comes over. We had to figure that out on our own. On my previous visits the staff explained how the scoring worked, but that didn't happen this time. Three groups ahead of mine didn't know how to enter their scores or forgot, so they just stopped playing. I also think the reservations could be spaced out better. Groups ended up stacked on top of each other waiting for the same hole. Thankfully, everyone was still pleasant about it. I'd definitely go back, but I hope they make a few operational improvements.

From the time I pulled my vehicle into the 'bag drop', I knew I was in for something out of the…read moreordinary. A young man immediately picked up my clubs and put them on a cart and instructed me to the ProShop. There I met Jacob who got me checked in and I was smiling with the news that my Monday round of 18 holes and a cart would only be $55 bucks, what a great value! I made my way to the driving range to hit some complimentary balls and also test out the putting/chipping green. My group of 4, was able to tee off right at 1140a with an assist from Mike T, the Starter. I will say, this is a very challenging course. There is a lot of changing elevation throughout and a fair amount of water that comes into play on a majority of holes. There is a creek that criss crosses throughout and some small ponds as well. You'll find the fairways wide open, however you'll be challenged for ball placement as the majority of fairways will funnel to the creek or water. The greens are very fast, they are undulating and generally small for the most part. The views are amazing! It's built in a development with Million dollar homes that line the fairway and circle around the green complexes. There are adequate water stations scattered throughout and there is bathroom at about hole #8 where they have cold face towels in water that will refresh you. I didn't try the food but I did check out the menu and it looked like a good mix of hot and cold options. Even on a Monday it was very busy and our round of 18 holes took about 4.5 hours. It was tough with 93 degree temps and 60% humidity. Just a few nits that were not major but a bit disappointing. Even though they had a food/beverage cart parked by the Club House, there was no one to operate it. In several areas, you will be confused on where to go for the next tee box because there is no directional sign. The carts were all gas, not a single electric cart and they struggled getting up the steep hills. The pace of play was longer than expected, not a big deal when the weather is great but when it's 90+ degrees and humid, you will suffer as there is no Ranger to keep things moving. This is a semi-private club and only members are allowed to play Friday to Sunday. Overall it was a five star experience, sadly it's quite a drive from where I live in Fort Mill but I was glad to check this one off my most of the B-Man's top 10 CLT area courses.

It's been about 3 years since I wrote the first review here…read more I went on a Wednesday morning in early June and the place was packed with youngsters taking lessons. I rented a top tracer bay and a bucket of balls. The top tracer has been added since my first visit so I decided to give it ago. I've done top tracer before so I had some familiarity of how it works. It was only an extra $5 bucks. It tracks your ball speed, carry distance and roll out, launch angle and apex. It will also indicate your accuracy on a line of distance you set. I really liked it and would recommend it for just a practice session. The only down side is you're hitting off a mat and rubber tee. The guy at the service desk was challenging to communicate with. I had to ask him several times, phrased differently about HOW many balls are in a medium bucket. I was not able to putt because there were so many kids on the putting greens. I probably should have called ahead to see if it was 'lesson day' but I expect during the summer it's busy.
