I suppose I was expecting a sort of "fake somber" type or experience, or to be pushed to purchase expensive memorabilia. Our experience was NOTHING like that at all. It's a time in your life where you want to connect with the person that is looking after your loved one and feel comfortable and that is exactly what happened. Our options were clearly laid out and we simply needed to pick what we wanted and it was done. But Kent went further and explained all of our next steps so we didn't have to stress out about what we had to do next. There seems to be so much paperwork to do when a loved one dies, but Kent walked us gently through the process while at the same time respecting the dignity of my father. I appreciated that. If you have lost someone, I would highly recommend letting Everden Rust look after you and your loved one.

I called back afterward to say I was unhappy with the lack of empathy shown. I then got an email from Terance that was terse and succinct: "sounds good" then "sent from my iphone". He did not acknowledge my complaint. I then asked if I could deal with another agent as I was unhappy with his attitude, and got a response back that said "My applauses". I think he meant apologies but who knows? This took three days while my dad's body lay in the morgue. He didn't answer my question about whether or not it was too late to go with a different company. Luckily I hadn't signed anything and went with a different funeral home. I am still shocked at how abysmally I was treated at one of the worst times in my life.

I recently attended Valleyview Funeral Home with some friends to prepare our deceased friend's body…read morefor burial. Upon arrival we were shown into the room where she lay on the gurney. To our horror she was STARK NAKED! A friend quickly grabbed a towel to cover her - it was not a very big towel. I believe it is customary to cover a body with a sheet! - this was not done. We proceeded with the preparation of the body, which was then placed in the coffin. We did not say anything to the funeral home staff at that time, but wrote an email to one of the funeral directors to express our shock and disappointment. There was no response. Then we wrote to the manager of the funeral home a couple of weeks later - and still received no response! No apology! This is an abominable lack of respect - and a complete lack of DIGNITY!

The facility was clean and new, and the whole service was excellent. The only snag happened minutes before the start of the service. An elderly guest had tried to email a lengthy addition to the eulogy, but it was never received. Even though she couldn't remember her password, somehow Malachi was able to help her retrieve the document and print it off for the speaker right before he was ready to start. Talk about going above and beyond! Five star service, start to finish!
