My dealings with this group have always seemed questionable. After my first 2 visits, I received documentation from my health provider denying all sorts of procedures I wasn't aware that I had had. I contacted the Springfield Dental Group and my provider to no avail: it seemed to blow over. Ditto on the 2nd visit. My 3rd visit was scheduled in April. They cancelled the appointment and I had to call a month later to reschedule. After the preliminary exam, I was told I needed a deep cleaning which surprised me since I have not needed one in 40 years and have been on maintenance every 6 months. They sent me home. I called to make a 3rd appointment and said I wanted to talk to the dentist about the necessity of the deep clean. I was scheduled for today at 2 pm. and received a notice from the Group. When I showed up, they told me my appointment had been cancelled b/c I'd said I wanted to talk to the dentist and the hygienist was booked, sorry. I was pleasantly surprised to find this dental office close to my home. I was nervous to try a new dentist, as I had used the same one in Arlington since 2015. I have now been here for two visits and can say that I will definitely be returning as long as I am in this area. Dr. Mojarrad and his staff are very friendly and efficient. I have never waited more than a few minutes upon arrival. The office is clean and spacious and very professional. Everyone I have interacted with has been great and has made the usual fear of going to the dentist disappear. If you love in the area, definitely give this dental office a try. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but my recent visit with Dr. Shehzana Fatima was extremely disappointing. My husband and I went in for our regular cleaning and ended up wasting our time. Dr. Fatima told us we needed a deep cleaning and said she could not perform a regular cleaning unless we agreed to the more expensive service. I recently lost a family member and could not afford the additional cost due to funeral expenses, but she showed no empathy and simply repeated that it was "office policy." What was especially frustrating is that she said I didn't need a regular cleaning anyway--despite routine cleanings being recommended every six months. I felt pressured into costly services that I've tried before without success. In the end, neither my husband nor I received any cleaning at all. Nothing was done for our dental health. While we've had good experiences with other doctors at this office, this visit left us very disappointed and hesitant to return. read more

This office has always felt off to me, almost like dealing with a used car dealership. While their dental services are adequate, they're nothing extraordinary. I left the practice a few years ago because I was dissatisfied though my son continues to visit mainly for the convenience of the location. At his most recent cleaning, he was told he needed a crown, quoted at $1,000 and felt pressured to commit immediately. It didn't seem like they even checked his insurance, as we later confirmed with our provider that 50% of the cost would be covered. My son felt they were more focused on promoting their in-house "same day" crown service than discussing other options. He was uncomfortable with the push to schedule on the spot. When I visited years ago, I also found the staff to be rude and dismissive, often trying to upsell services instead of providing straightforward care. It left a sketchy impression I've never encountered elsewhere. We couldn't be happier with our decision! We've come here several times now, and no matter what type of work we got done, weather it be cleanings, fillings, tooth extraction or tooth implants, we've had a great experience each time. They excel at making sure you don't feel pain during your visit, and the dental assistants are comforting as well. The lost pain you should feel is a little shot to numb the area, and that's a quick sharp pain. None of our experiences have experienced any more pain then the shot. It was the worst experience I ever had. On 18 Dec 2024, I had an appointment at 5:00 PM and arrived 15 minutes earlier, as recommended. After waiting for 20 minutes, one of the nurses came, took me to the room, and asked me to wait for a doctor. I waited until 6:00 PM and no one came to see me, they forgot about me. I know several years ago I gave this dental group a better rating. Since we have been going there we go every three months for a "periodontal cleaning". They recently told us that we had to continue every three months with their periodontal cleaning even though it was the same as a regular cleaning. They also refused to charge our insurance company twice a year for a cleaning so asking us to pay $80 each visit. For the first year or so we Didn't have an issue since they were doing a few things to help her gum health along but recently they have said that we need to continue with this every three months without seeing a periodontist or charging anything to insurance. Also, beware that they tried to hit you with a $25 fluoride service every single time. It's only recommended once a year. After a couple of years of this with only seeing the periodontist once we had had enough and have discontinued using this dental practice. read more

Finally went to a new dentist after being disappointed with the work done here. I had a permeant crown fall out soon after it was installed. The new dentist did X-rays and Every crown that they completed has poor margins and has to be redone. Doesn't really surprise me since one was literally completed while staff watched the World Cup on the tv in my room and the dentists appeared unfamiliar with the technology and were being taught on the job how to use the equipment to take crown measurements by their assistants. Other family members that went there have to have fillings redone as well. Every appointment lasted at least 3 hours and all recommended work was urgent. One time, I was exhausted after a long day and was being pressured into getting work done. A dental assistant (bless her) pulled me aside and reminded me that I have the power to say no and that I could come back another day. Scheduling was also a nightmare. Once, I was there for a cleaning and the hygienist left to go on her lunch break when I got there. They had scheduled me for a follow up instead of a cleaning. What should have been a 30 minute appointment again turned into a 3 hour appointment and I had to fight to get my cleaning done. Another time, the X-ray tech threw the mouth piece at my son and told him to do it himself after he was struggling. I also Witnessed bickering between coworkers that left me feeling uncomfortable. When the doctor came into the room, I suggested that maybe I should come back when everyone was calmer, the staff member attempted to gaslight me and acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. The turn over rate at this dentist is crazy high. We were there for less then a year and the main dentist changed 3 times. The office manager also changed at least once. We had positive experiences with the root canal specialist and the oral surgeon, but they are both gone now. I would highly recommend going somewhere else. They are nice people and the office has all the newest equipment, but they are not properly trained. Find somewhere else! read more

I was an inconvenience to her leaving and was treated extremely poorly. First the numbing I expressed pain and she stated I'm almost done. The numbing cream was not effective I felt all of it. To the cleaning which I was visible in tears and expressed extreme pain she kept stating I'm almost done several times and was not. The last part of cleaning was my final straw when she said she had to clean my mouth as it was my fault. During treatment she several times rested whole arm ln my face, aggressively moving my head, basically choked me with the spit sucker and was annoyed at me when I tried to reposition it. I Don't recommend Springfield Dental Group. My overall experience was very bad, disappointing, painful and a waste of time and money. 1. I was approved for the Smile Generation plan and billed prior to receiving the service. 2. I had the worse experience ever when Dr. A tried to numb my gums in preparation for my crown. It took about 10 LONG needles. It was awful! 3. It took 4 visits for me to get my CERAC/CADcrown that is advertised to be installed in 1 visit. Because they had to send mine to the LAB to be made. Even though there is a machine in the office that supposedly makes the crown within an hour. 4. They called and told me my crown was ready, so I took time off from work to have the crown installed. I waited an hour to find out, they never ordered the crown. I should have stopped there, but my teeth were already grinned down and I just wanted to be done with the procedure and group. 5. A week later they received the crowns from the lab so I went to have them affixed to 'permanently' installed. It fell out a week later while flossing. I have several crowns and never had one fall out after it was permanently affixed. 6. When I finally returned to have the crown permanently affixed again. Dr. A worked on the wrong tooth I which I complained was sensitive. 7. I continue to experience sensitivity to cold substances, but I'd rather deal with it. Where to begin? For starters, the staff isn't adequately trained and well versed in customer service or common sense. And to make matters worse the moment you start asking in depth questions about refunds or billing questions they refuse to speak with you and immediately provide you with a 1-800 phone number that is for "office use only"; per the guidance of the office manager, who by the way will LITERALLY relay messages to the staff you are speaking with instead of getting on the phone with you herself! I had a situation where I was charged $65 for a service when I wasn't in the office and a check was mailed out to the address on file even though I used my HSA card. So, I called the practice and the office manager and her employee refused to confirm the address that they had on file. Instead, I was given a 1-800 phone number that is for "office use only" and was told I needed to call them because "they don't handle billing concerns". But yet, smile in your face and can't wait for you to provide them with a Visa, Mastercard, or Discover card when you need make an initial payment for treatment plans that are 1000's of dollars!? 1000 phone calls later, the billing vendor finally confirmed that my apartment number was missing from my address even though I entered in my complete address when I initially returned to the practice!? Finally after working with the dental billing vendor the issue was resolved?! Wtf! The office manager was not helpful and was agitated, annoyed, and hasty majority of the time when I spoke with her and as a patient I should not feel like I'm playing "monkey in the middle" between the dental office and the billing vendor. It took a month of constant follow up as a patient just to get back $65. Completely pathetic and according to the practice manager it wasn't her fault?! On top of that, the last time that I was on a three way call with the office manager and the billing vendor she was agitated yet again and couldn't wait to get off the phone with me because of course per usual she was busy. On top of that, she literally had an attitude with the person from the billing vendor and it was moments away from being an argument because she was so upset to the point she requested to speak to the agents supervisor?! Of course, yet again it wasn't her fault even though the billing vendor said the refund was issued from the practice directly. After waiting for an absorbent amount of time so that the office manager could speak to a supervisor, the office manager told me she would call me back which of course never happened. Fast forward to about a week or so ago and now I'm getting a bill for $200 for a post op visit?! Then to make matters worse the bill doesn't even include a breakdown of what I am being charged for and there's no need to call the office because no one at the office will have a clue what I'm referring to! I will simply be told to call the 1-800 number!? Then when you call, they LITERALLY tell you the phone number is for office use only!!! I work with medical practices and have worked with them for years so I know that diagnosis/and billing codes are entered into the practices EMR and then the billing vendor receives this information which is then processed as a claim, so the office manager not doing her job and lying about it stating that she's not sure what happened or giving me a 1-800 number to call because she doesn't want to do her job is unacceptable! Bottom line! And the staff aren't much better either. When you show up for appointments they don't know what's going on, especially if you there for an emergency visit. Not to mention, majority of the time when I left this dental office after appointments I always had residue on my face because the technicians/and dentist lack common sense and don't take the time to wipe off the residue that is left on your face from working in your mouth or working with different paste during your appointment. I am planning to file a Better Business Bureau complaint because it definitely feels as though this office is simply sending out random bills to customers for an absorbent amount of money with no real explanation to justify the charges relative to the services rendered; which is FRAUD! The same way if I would not have called my HSA vendor to check my balance I would have never known about the random $65 charge because the dental office could have cared less! It definitely seems like they are simply out to make as much money as possible, even if their billing practices are fraudulent! A COMPLETE CLOWN SHOW! Nice place, nice staff and state of the art equipment. However, be advised to check your insurance claims for work that has not been done! I had a cleaning done at their office but was charged for a crown. A claim was also submitted for "oral care instructions" - which is not covered by insurance. I am not sure if that's a thing at other places but I don't think I've ever been charged for someone to tell me to brush twice a day and floss. Pretty shady if you ask me. Update: I wanted to give them a second chance to see if I can change my one star review. However, they did not only say that I was not scheduled for an appointment to check if my deep cleaning was successful (I had an email from them stating that I have an appointment on said date and time so I just wasted my time coming over) but after 3 weeks since I informed them of a wrong charge they did not send a corrected report to my insurance! They called and tried to cancel my root planning and scaling FOLLOW UP visit to reschedule for a month later with a gum specialist. Why do I need a gum specialist to just check my pockets and progress after the clean? After arguing with the receptionist and waiting for a callback (which they never called back), I called them again and the hygienist said that it was okay for me to keep my original schedule with her for the follow up visit. After my first visit and all the procedures were completed, they checked me out and told me what I had owed them after insurance verification was completed. I paid the amount and went home. A few weeks later, I went online and checked my insurance claim. It turned out I overpayed. Springfield dental then submitted another claim that they "forgot" to submit. Even after that late claim, I still overpayed. Emerald told me that they'll mail me a refund check of the difference. After a few weeks of waiting, I called and Emerald informed me that it was mailed 03/25. It is now mid May, so I called again and she denies that she told me the mailed date. Instead she told me that the refund amount "just got approved." Go elsewhere away from this shady office. VERY UNORGANIZED AND MANAGED BY EMERALD WHO IS UNQUALIFIED AND A LIAR. I was so self conscious about to going to the dentist after not going in nearly 3 between Covid, a new baby and the fear of what it may cost me but after a recommendation from my coworker and a newly cracked tooth I decided to give Springfield Dental Group a try. After a very thorough exam, Dr. K built a treatment plan to address my main concerns and overall restoration of health for my teeth and gums. Dr. K and his staff were very knowledgeable and pleasant. They offered a payment plan to ensure the work could be completed and affordable. I am now undergoing the second part of my treatment and the third is scheduled within less than a week. I am so happy and even more ecstatic that my confidence is on the rise and the uncomfortably I was once facing with chewing is being taken care of. I don't recommend this dental group they are all for money and recommend bunch of stuff you don't need. My mom suppose to have deep cleaning that's what they recommend and specifically told Dr Lam we don't need expensive stuff we just want to use my dad dental insurance for my mom he recommend a lot which i don't think my mom need he laid out what he will do and I agree they did the cleaning etc ended up paying out of pocket on the day of the visit which is not a lot 230$ and they said that's gonna be it. And now we receive a bill today and we owe 553$????
