Our school had agreed that our son's speech needed therapy but it didn't qualify for help at school. He recognized himself that he needed to improve his speech clarity and asked for help. We were worried as it was late to start speech therapy as a teen, but it's never too late it turns out. Luckily we found Springboard Speech Therapy. It didn't take long for our son to show improvement, and he showed more confidence speaking up at school and is now even in the debate club which requires fast and clear talking. The progress was clear every week, and he got exercises to practice at home. Her approach is very scientific. I fully recommend whether your child is older or younger! Allison worked with my 2yo son for 6 months. At 22 months he didn't have a single word and was almost a year behind his peers. By the end of our time together he had around 100 words and can put together 3-4 word sentences. He's much closer to being caught up and so much happier. We appreciated Allison's approach where she would watch us play with him and give tips and observations that helped us reinforce language outside of our sessions. We liked the balance of parent education and play therapy so we felt like we had the tools we needed to make progress outside of our time each week. Allison does a great job of keeping communication open. She would regularly interface with my sons EI SLP who would see him at school to make sure they were on the same page. She's open to emails and questions outside of your scheduled time and quick to respond, which I appreciate! My son enjoyed our time each week and loved to carry the tablet around the house to "hold her hand" and show her around. We knew my son needed speech therapy just prior to his 3rd birthday, due to the fact that even his immediate family had trouble understanding him. We are so glad we found Allison, as he was able to make quick progress. This helped so much with his confidence in every area of his life. He was able to connect better with his family, friends, and teachers. We could see his personality coming out more as others could understand his speech better, and he became an all around happier and more outgoing kid. We are a busy family with two full-time working parents, and it helped us immensely that Allison was able to have her sessions at our child's school. My son worked with Allison Sardo approximately for several years.  He made amazing progress in his articulation and he further developed his expressive language skills. Allison is extremely skilled at making therapy fun and engaging regardless of the format (in person or online).  She genuinely enjoys working and playing with children. Her joy is felt and has had an incredible impact on my son.  He looked forward to her sessions and he seemed to pick up the content easily because it was wrapped into fun games. Allison was effective in person, but what I most appreciated was her immediate effort to become certified in teletherapy.  Her seamless transition to virtual sessions allowed for continuity in therapy, which prevented skill regression. She transformed her practice overnight! Allison quickly developed online tools and games that mirrored the fun in person games. I actually preferred the virtual therapy sessions because I was able learn too! Allison was great about providing ideas to reinforce skills at home. However, being able to hear the session enabled me to use the same prompts and further reinforce the skill development. I cannot thank Allison enough for her expertise and professionalism.  Her background in the school setting has also been helpful when interfacing with the school SLP.  I genuinely appreciate Allison's advice and help to achieve my son's speech and language goals. We have had a wonderful experience with our son (10 yo) getting speech and language therapy with Allison for the past year to work on his articulation. She formed a connection with him right away and provided him with practical strategies to work on each week. She also met with us periodically to let us know what they were working on and how he was progressing. She provided a helpful level of homework each week (enough for him to make progress but a practical amount that was doable in busy family life). We were initially hesitant for him to do speech therapy via teletherapy as he had really disliked virtual learning but he loved the teletherapy format (lots of fun games), engaged with her during sessions, and it made fitting the sessions into the weekly schedule much easier! Allison is very skilled as a speech and language therapist and amazing to work with and we highly recommend her. read more

Allison is an amazing speech therapist! She was the fourth speech therapist who worked with my son and she stood out by a huge margin. She made my son enjoy speech therapy! During remote learning he spontaneously told her that his time with her was his favorite lesson and she was very touched by the compliment. I however wasn't at all surprised because she was so good at making remote speech therapy fun for him while also being very productive. She is so enthusiastic and encouraging that she made my son want to go above and beyond during their lessons. We saw little improvement with all of the other speech therapists, but with Allison he made consistent progress, one by one mastering all of the sounds that he could not make when he started working with her. I am convinced that my son would have always had speech issues if it weren't for Allison. She was always completely prepared and organized for each session and is superb at motivating kids with fun personalized activities and loads of positive reinforcement. She made my son feel so proud when he 'graduated' from speech therapy, though we had mixed feelings since we knew we would miss her, and we do. We are so grateful to have found Allison, who works once a week over Zoom with our 2 year old. When we started, our daughter could only say a handful of words, so Allison helped us focus on using sign language and noticing her cues to teach her early communication skills. She provided wonderful reassurance and continue's to be one of our daughter's biggest supporters. We are now, after just a short time, at a point where we are hearing new vocabulary and sentences from our daughter daily! We really credit Allison with giving our child the space to grow at her own pace while also providing her with appropriate strategies to increase her use of language. Allison has also provided countless hours of advice to us as parents, coaching us with so much kindness around how we can be most supportive with our daughter's speech development and in general as she gets older and spends more time out of the home. Working with Allison over Zoom has worked really well for our family. We found that our daughter became comfortable with her very quickly and that she really enjoys being able to do her sessions in her own room- it has been great for us too because Allison models how to implement speech strategies using the toys and books we already have at home, so it is really easy to continue speech work during the rest of the week. Amazing speech therapist for kids! Allison at Springboard Speech and Language is amazing! Last year, my son (5 yrs) was screened at his nursery school and was felt to need therapy for a lisp/sh/ch sounds. We looked at a large practice near his school, and after talking to Allison on the phone and considering several logistics, we decided to complete the evaluation with her. I am so glad we did- she has been amazing from the start! The evaluation was thorough, and she thoughtfully considered about the optimal timing for therapy for him (rather than pushing us to enroll for the business). She has a tremendous way with kids- her lessons are creative, and the sessions are FUN. My son has informed me that once he graduates from speech therapy, he wants to go back every week "just to see Miss Allison." He dances, plays games, and does other fun things all while practicing speech. The "homework" is fun, and even when he doesn't want to do it, she knows how to help us give him a break to keep him motivated for the longer haul. She is incredibly responsive to any concerns we have. We are very glad we found her, and would 100% recommend her for any family who needs a great speech therapist! read more

We cannot say enough great things about our experience with Allison Sardo (with Springboard Speech and Language)! Allison worked with our 1+ year old son when he had a speech delay due to hearing loss from near-constant ear infections as an infant. Until he got ear tubes put in at around age 1, he had no language and barely responded to any noises, so she had her work cut out for her. Allison came to our home and was such a pleasure to work with--she was so encouraging to us as parents, and my son absolutely adored her. She provided practical, useful tips for us to implement with our son outside of the sessions. And, during the sessions, she worked with our son through play--and got him to name things, identify colors, count, repeat phrases, etc. The sessions were calm and relaxing and fun for both my son and us, which helped him reach his goals quickly. And, she was honest with her assessment of his skills all along the way. I highly recommend Allison to anyone who has a child that needs help with speech delays. Just a year later, our son is now talking up a storm--his vocabulary has exploded and his speech is quite clear for his age.
