We switched to another dentist in the Mission Valley area which turned out to be a big mistake. After reading yelp reviews for dentists in our area we decided to try Rancho San Diego Dental. My wife had an issue with a crown that was done by the previous dentist and so she met with Dr. Christensen on her first visit. After my wife approved of this dental office, a few weeks later I went there for my six-month cleaning. Dr. Christensen is truly amazing. He's calm and is always smiling. He makes you feel like you're in good hands. Last year when I had a root canal, Dr. Christensen called me later that night to check how was I doing. How many dentists do you know that do that? We now recommend Dr. Christensen to all friends and family. Not too long ago Rancho San Diego Dental added a pediatric dentist. We took our kids to meet Dr. Peter Frandsen to see how they would like the new pediatric dentist. There is a specific way to work with children, rewording things to get a child to understand you is one of them. And as an RDA myself, I was not too happy with that. I had lost several front teeth and needed implants, and Dr. Wachtel handled the whole process with such warmth and compassion that it made an overwhelming situation feel manageable. She clearly cared about getting the outcome right -- not just functionally, but in a way that restored my confidence. Dr. Wachtel has since moved on, and the staff from my time there has likely turned over completely -- but what impressed me recently is that the current team was just as wonderful. When I reached out years later needing help obtaining my old records for an ongoing medical case, they were responsive, helpful, and went out of their way to assist me without hesitation. That kind of continuity of care and genuine helpfulness -- even for a patient from years ago with a completely different team -- says a lot about the culture this practice has maintained. She referred me to a local "Endo" who performed the root canal, but I not only returned to Singing Hills Dentistry for the new crown, but for a second on the adjacent tooth and come cavity work on one of my wisdom teeth. I was very impressed with Dr. Jamma and her staff at this dentistry. Everyone was very polite, had very good senses of humor, and were compassionate. Christina at the front desk was not only friendly, but also very thorough in explaining what my insurance covered and what I had to pay out of pocket. In other words, there were no surprises. Dr. Jamma was clear on what needed to be done to fix what needed to be fixed, she gave me options, and as the work was being completed, she not only took the time to explain what she was doing, she continuously asked if I was okay and if I felt any pain. That was very nice of her. Thank you! Gloria and Carla are Dr. Jamma's assistance and they are great. Gloria prepped the areas for Dr. Jamma. She was very friendly and gentle as much as one can be, in the line of work she is in. Carla, was tasked with removing the temporary crowns and setting the new ones. She was phenomenal with her job. She kept at it, until the permanent crowns were set comfortably in my mouth and did interfere with other teeth. I even stated to her that I liked the way she was a "perfectionist" in setting those crowns. She, too was very nice and friendly. Well done Carla. I also had the opportunity to get to know Debbie, the dental hygienist, who cleaned my teeth on my first visit. She was amiable and full of great advice regarding teeth cleaning. The office offers a nice waiting room with filtered water. I like the flat screens they have in the rooms with relaxing images and videos. I will be returning in about a month for further work and most likely another crown on a tooth that has a large chip. More to come.

Doctor Prouse did not engage with me regarding my treatment , he talked over me to his hygienist, who was overall "nice", but really what I experienced was poor bedside manner, I asked for an estimated copay from front desk (Gaby), she said someone else would call me back with this info and they never did, I was told I needed a deep cleaning which is basically more money in their pocket, I have been regularly seen by my previous dentist and have never been recommended anything outside of a regular cleaning. I asked to opt for just a regular cleaning moving forward but the front desk refused to schedule me for it unless it was the deep cleaning, my husband and I both pay for good dental insurance , so I am wary of places that are only concerned about making money off of people. My mom is also a new patient and I am concerned for her well being and this office taking advantage of her. I much rather pay out of pocket to stay with my previous denist, as he is now out of my insurance network. I regret stepping foot in to this unprofessional establishment. On top of that, they wanted to charge me for a no show to an appointment they never confirmed with me. Just feels like a scummy dental office. I have also worked for 2 very great dentists , who have both now since retired, and bedside manner and customer service and patient care is what it should be about. I had an extremely troubling experience with Dr. Omidi at Cardinal Dental…read more I was completely upfront with her about my history with dental anesthesia before beginning treatment. I have never been able to get completely numb, but for roughly 30 years I had been able to get through dental procedures with nitrous. Dr. Omidi reassured me that she could manage my situation, including telling me repeatedly, "I can get anyone numb." I trusted her, I followed all of her recommendations, and I expected the treatment to be at least as manageable as they had been in the past. Instead, both procedures were extraordinarily, excruciatingly painful--far beyond anything I had experienced in decades of dental work and a 10 out of 10 on the pain scale. And I don't use that number lightly; I'm a mother who has endured labor and birth. The second procedure was particularly difficult because I went in expecting it to be relatively straightforward, as crown deliveries have typically always been an easy procedure for me, and instead was shocked to experience another severely painful procedure. But, it was the inappropriate and unprofessional way Dr. Omidi treated me afterward that was the real issue. After the first procedure she patronizingly told me: "That hurt me more than it hurt you." And worse, after the second procedure while I was extremely distressed, I was met with an extremely antagonistic interaction. From the moment her hands came out of my mouth and the pain finally began to subside, Dr. Omidi was agitated and spoke to me harshly instead of allowing me a moment to recover from an unexpectedly excruciating procedure. I felt attacked and profoundly uncomfortable, and she ultimately stormed out of the room. After this experience, I will not be returning to Dr. Omidi.
