I began using this practice at least 20 years ago. without any issues, both health and ease of working with the office. Until, they hired a new associate at the desk. She is the rudest, most condescending receptionist I have ever met. In Philly, that's saying something.
Let me just say without any reservations that I wouldn't let this practice take care of my seeing eye dog! Examples of only some of my my less than acceptable experiences:
1. The office can only bill my primary insurance, not my secondary coverage. It took them 6 months to even attempt to bill it. Since I just got another statement, I guess they haven't figured it out.
2. Just a peripheral bit of annoyance...I require prescription eye drops to manage my glaucoma. I was using a particular drop that was working well. When my insurance company refused to dispense without prior authorization, I was in the office at least three times over a period of SIX months trying to facilitate the authorization. Also, when I changed doctors, they seem to be very slow with transfer of my records to a specialist.
3.. This issue is one that is a result of no one but Dr. Weidig. I went in for my annual exam, and for a contact lens fitting. He fitted me for soft lenses. They did not provide adequate correction in my left eye. I call the practice to schedule an appointment to see the doctor to discuss my options. Just ask how long I waited to go back in? 4 months. and then when I do go in, he informs me that I need to be refitted, and they billed my insurance again. Now is the part where your hair will stand on end. I ask how much will gas permeable lenses run if I purchase them from him?? $500 to start!!He hands me the new prescription and I go on my way, obviously not spending that absolutely ridiculous amount.
