It was an individualized program which we like. To start, they gave her mock tests for both SAT and ACT. Based on mock test results, and an analysis of her skills, they decided she would have a better chance for a high score on ACT than SAT. My daughter was able to finish the ACT with a near perfect score after only 25 hours of tutoring. We are so happy with our decision. I would recommend the Ridgewood center to anyone who is looking for individualized SAT/ACT tutoring.

For those unfamiliar with Mr. Paul, he was a master guitarist of many genres. In addition, Mr. Paul was one of the pioneers of the solid-body electric guitar, and his prototype, called the Log, served as inspiration for the Gibson Les Paul. Mr. Paul is the only inductee in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Inventors Hall of Fame. (Talk about accomplishments!) Three groups: "The Ed Loeb Quartet", "Tom and Sandy Doyle" and "D n A" performed in Mr. Paul's honor. (Tom Doyle had worked alongside Les Paul). The afternoon had two intermissions. Outside the auditorium, water, cheese, crackers, and other finger foods were supplied by a local ShopRite. During the second intermission, everyone had a slice of Les Paul's birthday cake. The event was extra special to me. I had the pleasure of seeing Les Paul perform at the old and new Iridium Room (NYC) on several occasions. "Note to event organizers": Navigating the college was very confusing. On top of it, the young woman at the security booth gave us "terrible directions". In addition, she didn't make any mention of a shuttle. Luckily, I did google a map of the college campus. Many of the program attendees were of an "older generation", which may not have been to tech savvy. In addition, the attendees may not have been able to walk up the college campus hills. We walked about 90% of the way and a car drove us to the event. After the show, we started walking back and a public safety car drove us back to the parking lot.

Unlike big schools with lots of staff whose…read morejob is to harass you for years should you fill out their inquiry form, and high fees, JSG is small and personal. Spots fill up fast, so ask about the waiting list and start learning the musculoskeletal system early. The small class sizes mean you get lots of one-on-one time with teachers. They're friendly, very knowledgeable, and share real-life tips. They focus on safety, ethics, common sense, body mechanics, and the science behind the techniques. The instructors really help you build good habits and muscle memory. After my first hands-on practice, I even found myself using the techniques when petting my dog. If you get into the habit of practicing every day at home, you'll be fine. But if you need extra help, you can always get individual lessons. When it comes to theory, Dr. Jane has put together a great curriculum and even wrote a book that's a huge help for the MBLX exam. Throughout the course, you might find yourself panicky, but trust the process; it will all click together at the end. She's passionate about the school and supports students during the course and after graduation. At the end, she gave us job leads, internship opportunities, and advice on starting our own businesses, including tips on marketing and taxes. I should mention that the course is short but very intense. If you don't have a background in anatomy or medicine, start studying before the course begins. Read massage therapy books, watch YouTube videos, and go through anatomy books. Use Dr. Jane's review questions (they are designed in a specific way), join AMTA for more practice questions, and really dive in. You have to put in the effort--no one can learn it for you, and you can't just hope to get lucky on MBLX day. Be ready to cut back on work and skip vacations while you study. After graduation, I passed the MBLX on my fourth day. But I come from a nursing background and was still studying a lot, and learning things I had never heard of before. There were many questions about anatomy and pathology, both directly and indirectly. Tyler, who teaches theory, is very knowledgeable, but you need to come to class prepared, or you'll have a hard time keeping up. Nevertheless, I am confident that all my classmates will pass the MBLX on their first attempt. I strongly recommend not skipping hands-on practice. Dr. Jane's routine is well researched and carefully planned. The instructors explain each stroke and its rationale. This gives you a solid foundation that you can later adapt to your own style and your clients' needs. JSG, in my opinion, gives you a solid foundation, teaches you the fundamental principles so you understand the subject, not just learn it for one day and forget. You'll get original instructional videos, produced by JSG, to help you practice at home. Use them! Even if you live alone, you can roll up a blanket and keep practicing the sequence until it becomes automatic. This way, you can focus on improving your technique in class instead of trying to remember the order of the strokes.Practicccec! Because you will have to film your routine and send it for evaluation:) And it also has to be performed in 50 minutes. JSG also teaches you different modalities (including chair massage (the money-maker), stone massage, aromatherapy, reflexology etc. But like in any school, those are rather overviews; you will still need to take a specialty course once you have your license. What I loved most was the incredibly friendly family-like atmosphere. My classmates set up a group chat, helped each other out, shared resources, visited each other's homes to practice, and became great friends for life. JSG gives you the tools and teaches you how to use them well. After that, it's up to you to put in the effort and succeed. If you want, you can probably arrange with Dr Jane to drop by and see a typical practice before you sign up. It is a pretty relax and cool place!

I spoke to Dr. Jane a few times on…read morethe phone, she was extremely rude, always in a rush and kept pressuring me to leave her money to secure my spot. (About $7000) She was texting me all hours of the day, randomly, asking for my deposit. Then asking me to enroll and she'll give me $1000 off. Her material is extremely crammed, The "school" is in the middle of a hair salon and again the process is being rushed, at home, watching her slides on a computer screen. I was not interested and kindly said "I was just simply not ready to move forward." The final time we spoke I addressed her as "Doc" not realizing that that would offend her, (honest mistake, I was extremely tried from my 12 hour shifts all weekend at the hospital, on top of having to nurse a sick family member at home) instead of her being professional, conscious, humble or just simply kind! as an equal, because, I am a human being, she once again talked down to me (as my superior) she said exactly this; "you are not suitable for JSG or any other school in general with your lack of interpersonal skills, good luck you will need it" A simple "I prefer to be addressed by my full title" really would have been effective and not hurtful in this situation. There is never a good time to hurt anyone but especially in the field of being a healer (energy and body work) But I guess bookwork can't teach you compassion.
